Dr. just put me on this antidepressant. Should I be concerned about weight gain associated with this drug? It is not listed as an side effect.
-
yes, they are expensive. I think mine last about a month. I struggled so much with vitamins that I am willing to spend the money..... I just did not think that Flintstones was working for me especially after I got pregnant. I definitively can not swallow the vitamins. They get stuck every time almost for a whole day.

Hi all,
I have been using the Buried Treasures Liquid Prenatal vitamin since January. I love it and wish I had been using since I got the lapband. I buy it from www.iherb.com.

OCC says 4 weeks; I had a scheduled cesarean too and I was ready at 4 weeks and did great. I did not breastfeed but you need to consider that too....
Good luck
Thanks KarenLynn... I knew you had been through a very successful lapband pregnancy. I was hoping to hear from you!!! I have not decided on breast feeding yet. It is just my husband and I with no family close by. So I am not sure if bottle feeding or breastfeeding will work best for us. I do want to try breastfeeding though.

Hey!!!
I still have 2.0 cc in my band at 33.5 weeks pregnant. I am doing great. I supplement with protein shakes, milk and yogurt. The baby is awesome. Doctors are pleased wit my 10 pound weight gain so far. My restriction changes day to day. As my uterus has grown, restriction gets worse... I still follow the band rules first except i always eat veggies then protein. and I can take all day to eat a meal and i drink with my meals (very small sips). This helps me a eat a little more. But everyone always finishes and eats a lot more than i do!!
How much weight do the doctors want you to gain?
By the way I have blood pressure, 39 years old & type 2 diabetes complications. so my pregnancy rules are probably different than yours. We are planning my c-section at 36 weeks (aug 26). They will do an amnio on Aug 24 to see if the babies lungs are mature before doing the c-section.
Good luck & keep us up to date on your progress!!!

wow, I am so excited for you!!! I can not wait to start my weight loss journey after the baby comes. I was banded in aug 08. i lost about 40 pounds by end of January. I think i still lost some inches during pregnancy. Still have about 50 to go!!

hi all,
I am trying to decide if breastfeeding with the band is feasible? Can't find any information on this. I really want to get fill as soon as possible, but also considering breast feeding over bottle feeding.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Hi all,
My c-section is scheduled for Aug 26. How long should I wait to get a new fill? I still have about 2 cc in band and have good restriction. The band has really helped keep my weight within the correct boundaries during this pregnancy. I will be 34 weeks this coming Saturday. Doctors say I should only gain up to 15 pounds. I have gained about 10 now.
Thanks!!

Hi,
My doctor prescribed this to me for anxiety. Does anyone have positive or negative feedback on it?
Thanks!

Hi,
Are you having your fills done with floru? I know that having fills done under fluro is very precise. Maybe try that and have it done at a time of day when you normally feel no restriction.
Good luck & hang in there.

You look so awesome!!! Great work!!!

Hi! I am 18 weeks pregnant. My ob and perinatal is very optimistic and supportive of the band. They have let me keep my fill so far. They say they see very healthy pregnancies with the band. My previous pregnancy was complicated by blood pressure and weight. i am on much better path for this pregnancy thanks to the band!!
Congrats!!! Keep us posted!!

Huge congrats to you!!! I am 18 weeks prego and got banded in August 2008. My perinatal doctor has seen huge success with band and pregnancy. So you should be fine!!! I have felt 0 discomfort from the band!!
Best wishes Amy.
i think there is about 5 of us banded and pregnant right now. There should be some type of study!!

Here is my original prego post.

Hi,
I rarely get on this site now because I am 16 weeks pregnant!!!!! I am due Sept 13, but expect to have the baby in late August because of blood pressure issues.
I was banded August 2008 & have lost about 40 pounds.
I blood pressure complications during my first pregnancy so I am still not 100% out of the woods yet. But this is such a healthier pregnancy than last. I am exercising regularly. I have not gotten a unfill yet. My ob is totally great with the band. sometimes I think she has one too!
My blood pressure very well controlled right now and I pray it will stay this way. I am 38 so that puts me in high risk already!!
Just work closely with your doctors. Drive them crazy with questions. Try to exercise as much as you can within reason if you were before getting prego!!
And lastly, CONGRATS!!! This will probably be your healthiest pregnancy!!

Congrats! I have heard of many people getting pregnant post-band. Most likely feeling a little more spicy in the bedroom as well as the healthy eating helps your fertility.
Here is a link to a video blog of a woman who has lap band and is pregnant. This is off the website of the dr I see for aftercare. Every doctor will be different, but you can see what she is going through!
Congrats!

Hi And congrats
you're making me broody but don't tell Cujo (hubbie)LOL
A friend of mine was banded and had lost about 50lb when she fell pregnant( these bands make fertile women)
She kept her fill until about 6mths and then had a complete unfill.
Just see how you go.
Hi Nicole!!
Did you friend gain any weight during pregnancy? According to obgyn that spoke to before I got pregnant, she thought that I should gain only 5 to 15 pounds. And said I could use to band restriction as long as the baby is growing properly and I am healthy. I am making an appointment for next week.
I will keep you guys posted!!!!

Hi all,
It has been a long time since I posted. Just got busy with holidays. I am not sure where to start.
I was banded on Aug 1 2008. I have lost almost 40 pounds. And reduced my blood pressure meds from3 meds a day to 1. So I am happy so far. But I really wanted my bmi lower & no blood pressure meds before getting prego. But we are like little bunnies these days and did not take proper precautions.
So here I am... very happy to be pregnant. But I am scared that I will have complications due to my bp. I had major complications in a previous pregnancy.
Anyone have advice or know how long I can keep my restriction during pregnancy? Just looking for some insider information.....
With my last pregnancy, I started out with uncontrolled blood pressure that I did not know I had. It took a while to get it under control. I weighed about 219 when I got pregnant too. And I had not been exercising regularly. My son came at 32 weeks 7 weight 2.13 pounds. It was a very scary time. Now I have controlled blood pressure, weight 30 pounds less & have been exercising regularly for 15 weeks. So I am very, very hopeful for a healthy pregnancy & baby!!!!
cheers,
Amy

I have 2 fills so far. Great restriction. My pills get stuck all the time. Stuck so bad I throw everything solid or liquid til the pill passes through the band. It is horrible. I got a pill splitter to take care of the problem.
On my first 21 days, I crushed al lmy pills and put them in yogurt.

That is such a wonderful story. I am so happy for you!!!
