  1. I am having pre-op on a Wed., surgery on Thurs., and not flying home til Sun. I fully expect to hit the Revolution Ave. fiasco on Friday. Since we are staying an extra day, we are debating on whether to say in Tj. on Sat. night or go to the San Diego zoo on Sat. and stay in San Diego. It seems like walking around the zoo would probably be good for me on Sat., but just concerned about how I might feel. I'm pretty sure I'll feel OK, since usually I'm a quick healer, and tough as a nickel steak, but never had any work done on my gut before. If anyone did go to the zoo, did you buy tickets at the gate or somewhere else. I saw that tickets were kinda high online, but quite a bit cheaper on ebay. Is there any other stuff in San Diego or TJ that are "must see" other than resteraunts.
  2. I wanted to reward myself with some ice cream (my biggest weakness), but my wife wouldn't let me. I told her I would even take one of the sample cones that they always give my dogs at the frozen custard place. Still no dice. Man, if I saw a kid walking down the street right now eating ice cream, I jack that kid's cone and shoot it straight into my veins at this point. No, I guess I'll just have to settle for some sugar free jello.
  3. I leave for surgery 3 weeks from today. Doc says I need to lose 30lbs. before surgery. I went to the dr. today because I have some bronchitis that I need to clear up before surgery, but I was down 21 lbs. in the last 3 weeks. I'm sure it'll slow down, but the protein shakes and lean cuisines have been paying off. Man those frozen dinners are pretty good too, and yes I could eat about 6 of them. I have found that it is easier to stay on my diet on days that I work. I work Mon. thru Thurs. and usually go to the lake every weekend. That's when I want to throw a 2" Porterhouse on the grill and throw back a few cold ones. My daughters and wife always make smores too. Having to settle for just a smell right now.
  4. I keep reading post about how "smokin hot" the docs are at OCC and I keep picturing this guy with long flowing locks of hair, no shirt, and oiled up pecs leaning over me on the operating table saying "Ah yes, dis is a fat one, but we can shape him up and make him a sexy beast too. Something like Fabio on a romance novel or an "I can't believe it's not butter" commercial. I bet the women are just as hot, lets here some about that.
  5. Welcome Cujo. I'm new too and will be banded on Aug. 14. Maybe we'll meet up and throw back a couple of frosty cold popcicles. Good luck.
  6. As long as it's just the ladies sending them. By the way, I wonder if they have any paper boxers or do we get the papyrus thong too.
  7. I may be a dude, but I'm gettin' me one of them "goal dresses". Might not post the photos though.
  8. I am 5'7" and weighed 363 before pre-op diet. My bmi was 57. I am down to 347 and bmi to 55. To get to a healthy bmi, the calculator says I have to get down to 160 lbs. Even my dr. told me 225 to 250 would be great for me. I'm not really fat on the legs or chest, just the gut, but I gotta have 160 lbs just in the legs alone. I think my bones would weigh 175. I just wonder if trying to hit the bmi calculations is realistic for anybody, and how did anyone come up with a goal weight. I think I am going to shoot for that 225 range.
  9. Thanks for the encouragement guys and gals. I'm looking forward to getting this over with. Lots of great attitudes on this board and great information are two of the main reasons that I chose OCC, and so far glad I did. Everyone that I talked to at the clinic has been very nice. Can't wait to meet the "super hot" Dr. Ortiz although I don't think he will have the same affect on me as it seems some of the ladies. I'm sure he doesn't have any problem working with us other super-mega-hyper-ultra attractive alpha males.
  10. Scheduled for surgery Aug. 14th at the OCC.
  11. I have been lurking and reading here for quite a while, but just haven't joined in. There doesn't seem to be alot of guys on the board. I am scheduled for banding Aug. 14th. I have to drop 30 lbs. first and I am down 15 this morning, so the dieting is at least going in the right direction. I still feel lik I am 250 lbs of twisted steel and sex appeal, but just happen to have another 100 lbs covering it all up. I would like to get rid of the extra baggage. Great info to be found here, and I have been taking notes. Looking forward to my trip to TJ.
