Hey I am home! I have had 1.5cc put in, is that about average for a first fill? She said she would rather go slowly than overfill and cause me any stress. The Dr was so lovely! She explained more about foods and really made me feel well.. special and that was a nice feeling. She also got my port on the first go, and mind you its in a different area than i thought it was! Its closer to m y bello button and not under the port scar.. Im so newb! I had water before i left and it went down fine and a arnotts biscitt now and ill go to the shops to get a baby can of baked beans, she said its good to have a few handy in case you want to eat and its better than junk food she also told me to stay away from juices, i think she spotted my 200ml apple juice in my handbag *blushes* as they are empty calories, she was so lovely! It was a good experience, not as scary at all as I thought it would be and even though i made my partner come for support, next time.. no need I cant wait to start dumping this weight! Love Worm.. soon to be a Butterfly ♥

Oh well i guess no one had time to reply (just read). I am going now to get my fill, when I get back does anyone know of other support forums as well as this one where there are more people that can help with support etc? Maybe something in Australia? Thanks

Hi everyone, finally it starts the op is over the healing is well underway and maybe now the first fill is the start to the real weight loss. I didnt lose much weight after the op, more i lost before the op on the optifast.. Im a little scared to be filled. Right now I can eat normally pretty much........ 2 slices of bread for lunch etc thats it! After the fill i hope that when i eat that [ainful feeling of a lump in my throat goes away? After I eat i get that atm... weird but it goes away.. The area i had the port put in is ... dead to the world, no nerves I cant feel it i could stick a pin right in not that i would and i wouldnt feel it. Is that normal? Anyway the main point I am getting a fill! Any tips? My partner is coming with me because i need the support i think. Wormbutterfly!

Hi all! I am 6 weeks post op and today i got pain when i sat down.. just at the port area like a rough rock was in there sort off. Its like that again now... 5 hours later and when i use my abs to sit up or shake around on the couch moving etc.. When does the pain fully go away and did you guys have pain at 6 weeks a little? I cant wait for a fill! I have not had one yet and my appetite is sort of getting back Also.. when i ate some bread today... and swallowed it all i had was a bite but i felt like i gulped a whole loaf and then a lot of saliva and fluid started forming in my mouth and i was drooling it was really odd.. normal? Thanks xx

Its okay, i also did not have a BM for almost a week, mainly because i wasn't eating anything just liquids. In Austraila.. i was given Actilax which was a lactose based laxative. It worked wonders and alleviated some of that abdominal pain.

Hey Aussies I have size 18 clothes that are way lose on me that your welcome to inquire about. Im starting on size 16's now and dont want to waste my clothes etc. Let me know if your after a size 18, i have slacks, jeans (LOTS OF JEANS) all very newish.. the blouses i have are all plain and classy and then I also have a few belts that are for size 18s. Cause I'm an Aussie I only know what Kios are but Id like to have it automatically converted on the same ticker every time i update so you guys all know what i am talking about with my 'kilos' as well... And i don't want 2 tickers on my siggie .. lol Thanks

I bought a guess what.... A Vogue Magazine. Something id never dare to buy ever before. Mostly because the fashions within always are for such tiny people and tend not to go above a size 10 or 12 at the largest (In AU sizes). I am not anywhere close to being such a teeny size .. yet but I thought that i am sort of over the style i have which is... wear what 'fits'! I am going to be a positive glowing diva! With a happy confident attitude and i want my outside to match my new inside... I dont know what look to go for... sexy, sassy or more to my liking sophisticated and classy or just a total blend. There are so many possibilities of what the new me can wear! For you bandsters that have achieved your goal or are getting closer what styles did you choose this is so exciting for me! Id love to know what you guys did clothing wise because obviously a whole new wardrobe is being opened up to us. Now the band is in, yesterday i was thinking oh my god i have done it! The hard bits over. The struggle isnt going to be so hard... and then i smiled! For the first time in ages.

Hello, Today i sneezed , not a big feat by any stretch of the imagination . However i am a week and a half into my banding and I sneezed. The pain i felt was like the strongest contractions at the port area. It felt like there was a metal ball inside me that was convulsing or something it was excruciating. After 10 minutes it went away. Later on i sneezed again (luck me - not) and the same thing happened. Did any of you banders feel pain or contraction type spasms near the port when sneezing? Is this normal? It weels like the port did about a hundres summersaults.... I cant stop sneezing right o_0....... Thanks for your guidance.

Also try to cleanse, exfoliate and moisturise daily.. (just a LIGHT exfoliant)

Thanks so much. Its been one week and one day now. I am able to roll over slightly onto my side now to sleep with a pillow for support thats good but i wake up very stiff and sore in that tummy area. I have to get hubby to help me up in the mornings but the rest of the day i can get up alone. I cant and wont bend over because im not meant to and plus that kills .. i did it accidently and i almost died of pain! When does that stop? Just a daft question if i wanted to be a super fit poledancer *lalalala* would i ever be able to use my abs without feeling pain again? I have found ive been getting somthing like a huger pain where when i drink or have soup it goes away... but its not the same as a normal hunger pain its a really BAD evil hunger type pain? Anyone else that can relate? Im not hugry though as such.... <--- blonde Anyway. i took my bandages off.. (some) the smaller ones, and i had a crying moment when i realised my scars where perminant and so ugly. I put a drop of vitamin e on them and put bandaids over them... i dont want to face them, i dont think i could if i wanted to yet. First i want this pain to stop. The large incision where the port is has stitches how long are they meant to stay in? I do not remember and the girls at the drs office said they *THINK* they are disolvable... lol! ANyway err um.. When do you all think they should comout? I have an appt on the 7th march for my 1st lap band check to see if its all ok and perfect! Then a week after that a fill appointment... dam they move fast i thought there was a wait of at least a few months before a fill to allow for healing and so on! WOW! Hey are there any AUssies here that may have used the same surgeon as me in Melbourne? Thanks for all yur support, i DO REALLY NEED and appreciate it. I list 2 kilos

I cant say much i am newly banded but please do not lose your hope!! Your body is still healing and that means all sorts of changes. I would love an update in 3 months and trust be you will lose weight! Dont be hard on yourself your a wonderful person that has made such a huge and positive life changing decision! It just takes time thats all. The hard bits done!

I cant say i know how it is effecting me yet as its not even one week however so far i have subscribed to some more fashionable clothing websites in preparation for the new me. Not that i will wear unattractive or unlady like clothes but I will try to sexy it up in a very modest and ladylike way. As for being a stripper that might take an adventurous person... much more adventurous than me! You and I have a lot in common education-wise pm me anytime.

Thanks so much everyone I was nervous and still have some hangups about having it done only because its sort of dramatic for me but still we all get nerves and the jitters so i guess thats normal. I am on fluids and hubby is making me veggie broths strained, optifasts, home made juices and a lot of rest in bed and on the couch. I walked to the end of the street and back yesterday I am proud. But the gas.. pains are annoying they are so hard to erm..push out lol! I have lactulose for constipation not that I am constipated as i have not as such eaten fods so much as drank them..? Can I ask how many holes you all have from the op? I have lots ofpics they are a little too gory for here as they are post op but when the bandages come off i will maybe take a cleaner looking photo for you to see. I feel like i have to hold the are when I try to walk, its tender and when i phoned my mum she said i always have been a little bit of a 'emotional' sick person.. (when i am unwell etc) lol! I have a few questions for you girls that was how many holes did you receive? I have 4 and whats somthing really super for protein thats really liquid? I cant drink eggs so much. I might go scavage through some threads seeing its 4am and i cant sleep Did you girls and guys have problems coughing? It hurts me. In the end the surgeons took 1 photo of my yummy and band.. with their micro camera its so cool! I will post that later on for sure! Hi everyone, I am at home now, I was banded the day before yesterday in Melbourne Australia where I live. I got home yesterday night and have been taking oxynorm and panadols and the pain is not too great for me. I have pain a the port for sure, and now my next and throat are sore and the glands are up there and under my arms. I am drinking which is good, bits at a time. But i cant get up very easily without hubbys help. Have to admit i can do tiny baby burps which are a little relief but doing as many as i would like and as for the 'farts' well one or two an unladylike relief i must say.. who caes if im a lady or not So long the pain is going away. I have 4 holes one under each breast one in the middle and one to my lower left where the port is. Is that all normal? I cant sit right up it hurts too much. I am in bed and hubby is looking after me. I feel flemmy on my lungs but i cant cough.. Anyway its done now regrets or not soon ill be that butterfly instead of the fat wormy xoxoxo

Hi everyone I am having mine done in less than 24 hours so i should get some sleep in. I am petrified! I am just scared about so much. I cant believe some of you are up a day after your surgery, i am being kept in for a day and a night or so... I have been using Vitamin E cream on my belly twice daily in preperation to help get my skin in a very supple condition so hopefully it heals very well. Vitamin E is better than all the expensive potions and things you can buy as they mostly use Vitamin E also, plus Ive always loved Vit E. Gawd... 8 hours till my surgery now!
