  1. Drink your water and protein drinks best things to get you through this phase. Stay strong and come here for support. You can do it.
  2. I am finally in place I can start participating in this thread. I have FINALLY broken my 6 month plateau of 167 one month ago and lost 11 lbs....156!!! 21 more pounds and I am at goal and -100lbs!
  3. Bogiesmom, I've done this trip 3 times from Irvine. You catch the Surfline to Santa Fe. Walk across the street to the kiosk for the trolley and head to Tijuana. Very simple and very inexpensive.
  4. I am sorry for your experience. It doesn't sound like you were banded through the OCC. They do not give you a fill with your surgery. Your surgery is the installation of your band with a 21 day liquid diet for healing. They then recommend your first fill 6-8 weeks after your initial surgery. Not sure who you went through but I would contact them. If you don't feel comfortable, do a 21 day liquid diet to heal up! All my best and I am sorry for the complications.
  5. Holy Smokes Lady! You look FABULOUS!!!!!
  6. You all said it! I look back on where I was a year ago and sheesh, without all of you and the forum, I never would have survived the past year. I will do my best to back here and giving support as I had received it. Great post Lisa!
  7. on the coast of somewhere beautiful

  8. RevyD, holy moly lady! You are doing fantastic!!! Once I was able to get a good routine of solids, I found I could eat more so I went in at 6 1/2 weeks. It's all personal preference.
  9. Love it. Know that it's not an easy way out but more helpful than any other plan I have been on. Wish I had done it sooner.
  10. Not sure about farting but burping, holy moly. I was the one that got a massage after. Ask the bell hops to arrange it for you at the hotel. They give you a discount for being from the OCC and they come to your room.
  11. One thing that can happen is the foods you were able to eat BEFORE your first fill, you might not be able to eat them now. Your fill is very aggressive. Let it work.
  12. HA! BS!!! Ute, find a tax consultant. Usually your initial consultation is free. Tell them you are getting towards the end of the year and have an IRS issue regarding FSA.
  13. So sorry to hear this. SHOP AROUND!!!! and definitely get it in writing.
  14. Thanks Margaret. I've been through A LOT during this year of my lapband. I wasn't able to work it as I should have, TONS of stress in my life. Stress tightens you up and I just couldn't/wouldn't incorporate exercise. Stay true to yourself and your lapband and you will do just fine!
  15. Hi Margaret, I've parked at the border. Walked across. Picked the yellow taxi cab. Gave him a copy of my confirmation letter and he got me right to the clinic. Got my fill. Had Gloria call for my YELLOW taxi (be specific) back and back across the border. Very simple. The best part? Sitting in the waiting room with "newbies" and sharing your story and reassuring them and making new friends. Good luck with the fill!
  16. Thanks CALF. Excellent post Shelby. I TOTALLY overpacked. One thing that saved my gas pain was a massage at the hotel. The bell boy arranged it for me in my room and it was highly recommended by Dr Miranda. Helped move the gas through all the joints and muscles.
  17. Excellent tips everyone. I just wished I had packed some tennis shoes to walk the treadmills at the hotel.
  18. Absolutely stunning. You have been such an inspiration to me and have helped and advised me TONS on this journey. THANK YOU! >
  19. I had to stop obsessing over the scale due to being the same weight all through Feb/March. Then I got my 3rd fill, down 10 lbs, and now the scale hasn't budged again. HOWEVER, I am in a size 14 from size 18 in Feb/March. I'll take the NSV (no scale victory) any day!
  20. Kristi, here's a link in the forum. Good luck! http://www.lapbandforum.com/index.php?showtopic=5317
  21. I LOVE the princess sips! I am going to use that! Congrats to both you ladies on being banded. I found when the head hunger hit, I'd go for a walk. It helped with the head hunger and it helps to move that gas through your system.
  22. Denise, steroids really cause you to hold onto weight or gain weight. Louise, you have been under a tremendous amount of stress and the steroids. Give yourself a pat on the back for surviving and a 4.0 GPA?? WOO HOO!!!! :lb10: That right there would have done me in due to the stress.
