  1. Thank you everyone. The massage was fantastic. I had some gas pains in my shoulder and lower back and she took care of them. I am trying to make arrangements to be on the train for home tomorrow, which BTW, the train was a great way to travel and I will do it again for my fills. I can't WAIT to see the results of all this. BTW, my scale at home said I hit 213 but the scale here said my weight was 228??? Oh well, I am holding on for the ride.
  2. What a whirlwind it has been. I was truly hoping for the surgery the day we arrived and I got it. Everyone has been exceptional. I just feel like I have done a bazillion sit ups and my lower back hurts from laying down all day. I am currently at the hotel awaiting my massage, mani and pedi. It was a pleasure meeting Kimberly and her hubby. Such nice and wonderful people. I ended up bringing too much stuff so my bag is heavy. Should be an interesting walk across the boarder. Thanks for everyone's kindness and support on this forum.
  3. Congratulations on your decision. I believe I had some sort of help like this when I was your age, I wouldn't be where I am today at the age of 39. You are a strong and amazing person and it's a excellent choice for you. Keep us posted and I am looking forward to reading your blog.
  4. I just have to give you all my heart felt thanks as well. I am in the final days of being banded on the 20th. Without all of your kindness, support and kick in the pants, I wouldn't be here! I have made my goal of dropping 10 lbs plus. I've been emailing Dr Miranda practically daily to make sure I have everything. Again, THANK YOU ALL!!! >
  5. Congratulations!!!! It must be great when your own brother acknowledges that info
  6. EXCELLENT T$P. I will make sure to bring some extra $$ down with me just for that.
  7. You have a pm. Good luck tomorrow. I'll be thinking of you!
  8. I am so EXCITED for you! I hope you can keep in touch with us if not, I totally understand.
  9. Michelle, I've said it before and I will say it again....You are an inspiration. You are a true inspiration on how a person is working the band and I only hope I can do half as well as you. You are looking FABULOUS.
  10. Sorry you are sick I wouldn't tell them you are going to Mex. If you feel you MUST tell them anything, just that you are going to be banded in a couple of weeks and need to make sure you are healthy. Get Well Soon!
  11. Ok, forgive me for my ignorance but I have to ask, "WTH do you still have your paper thong panties?" Scrapbooking? :-? Mona, you are a whole other question....BAHAHAHAHAHA
  12. WOW! You look great! What a beautiful dress and what a BLAST that you went dancing! Keep it up!
  13. I missed the YOUNGER guy comment. Ladies and Gents..... COUGAR ALERT you go JANN!!! =D>
  14. I've been on pre-op since the middle of August (long story) and I have really weaned myself off of Diet Coke and Beer. I am pre-op right now, surgery date is changed AGAIN to Nov 20th and I am doing protein shake for breakfast and Lean Cuisine for lunch and dinner. Personal opinion, easy on the protein shakes, we may be absolutely sick of them by the time you HAVE to rely on them.
  15. Hi Taz. I ordered the two books below with a little review. I am ALWAYS looking for easier recipes as well. Patt Levine and Michele Bontempo-Saray, “Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery” LOVE IT! I am cooking challenged and found all the recipes doable and you don’t have to go out and find out of the way ingredients that I had to while I was doing South Beach or Atkins. Each recipe is broken down by serving guidelines for Lap-Band AND Bypass AND what week you are at with your meals. The recipes are also broken down by servings, calories, protein, fat, carbs, cholesterol, fiber and sodium. Margaret M. Furtado, “Recipes for Life After Weight-Loss Surgery” More of a “Spa” style recipes. Hard to find ingredients. The recipes are broken down as above with weeks you are at your meals and nutritional value
  16. Dolittle, You look AMAZING!!! Look at how far you have come! Thank you for posting your pictures and your journey. I hope your healing process gets better and better.
  17. OMG, I have tears reading this! What a fantastic feeling! You are doing great!
  18. Great job Trav. What about taking more fiber? The fiber that dissolves and you mix in water?? I just trashed my emails. I signed up for Jillian Michael's newsletters and today she mentioned upping your fiber intake if you feel hungry.
  19. Ok, that is ONE time you don't mind showing your plumber's crack Thanks for sharing the story. I loved it and keep up the great job. Have you checked Ebay for used clothes? Or the local Goodwill Stores?
  20. THANK YOU EVERYONE > I am not a fan of Revolucion Avenue, too many bad/good teenage memories of stumbling from bar to bar I am going to try to get us a massage and pedicure scheduled. Again, THANK YOU!!!
  21. Thanks Linda! I am so excited!! I just bought my train ticket. I am 2 hours from the boarder and decided to take the train, it was only $18 one way and OCC is picking me up from the San Diego main station. I am planning on taking: A couple of the protein bullets The Special K protein single packs Boullion Cubes Bottled Water A long night shirt Sports Bra that fastens in front 2 T-shirts Sweat pants or Yoga Pants Crocs (they slip on and off easy and I can walk in them pretty comfortably) Mini Toiletry Kit Gas X Strips Pepto Pills (for upset stomach) Buckwheat pillow for my train ride home
