  1. Thanx Nicole. I am going to see how I do through the weekend. I have my apt Monday AM for my unfill just in case. How did I go from 174 to 179 on all liquids this week?? ARGH, the fickle little beotch! (What Dr. O called the lap band before my surgery with him)
  2. Carrie, you are rocking the band! Congratulations and keep up the excellent work!
  3. Nicole, why Maalox? I am STILL tight and am thinking if this doesn't settle down, I will be at the OCC for an unfill. Kimberly, it's not a nice feeling at all and I am hungry and it's not head hunger because all I can do is broth and shakes.
  4. Carrie, thanks for the compliments. I pb'd on gravy and soup, it's not like it was solid food. It took me an hour to drink the shake because I was swollen due to the pb'ing. It usually never takes that long for me to have a shake. Thanks for the comments. Karen and Nicole, Thanks for chiming in. I really needed to hear from you two that have been through this. I knew I would be tight the first week after the fill and then during my period. It is easy for me to get to OCC to unfill. I will try the liquids and I have a call into the OCC as well. Thanks ladies!
  5. I am questioning on if I need an unfill. I had my 3rd fill 2 weeks ago and was tight all week. I was able to eat but could feel the tightness. Last week was my period and I was EXTREMELY tight. Yesterday I pb'd 2x. Once in the morning on sausage gravy. (I am normally tight in the mornings and can't eat till lunch. I knew better but it was Mother's Day) For lunch I had an Atkins Shake and it took 1 hour to get it down. Then I had some French Onion Soup for dinner that had cheese on it. I pb'd again. This is my 3rd time pbing ever!
  6. WOW Nicole! I hope this works out for you.
  7. I just got back from Tijuana for my 3rd fill yesterday. I parked at the border, caught a cab, got my fill, cab back to border and walked back through. NOW if there was a cause for concern of the Swine Flu coming through Tijuana, I believe all the border agents checking my passports and my citizenship would have been wearing face masks and guess what? They were not! As far as medical attention in Mainland Mexico and Baja Californa, depending on how far into mainland people are, YES their medical facilities are poor. Mexico is a poor, third world country. All of us see the resort areas as tourist and of course that is going to have the best of the best medical facilities.
  8. Mona, my thoughts are with you and your sister. What a very scary situation.
  9. OMG!! Trav and Dana, I LOVE jello! Mix cream cheese in it and it's yummy! I've heard about prenatal vitamins being excellent. I haven't tried them.
  10. Thank you Mona. It's been a TRYING 4 months! Every stress that could possibly happen to a person happened to me during the entire 4 months. Not fair, but I've overcome them and am still losing.
  11. Lisa, where do you get it? I am at 40 and I am sure my body is going through some funky changes.
  12. Thanks, but, I've been doing Biotin, Vit B6, B12, Folic and a multivitamin. I do plenty of fruits, veggies and white meat. I emailed Dr Miranda today about this and she mentioned all of the above as well. This is so frustrating.
  13. ARGGH! Thanks Robynn. I read your story and I feel for you ((((HUGS))))) My hair loss started a month ago after my 2nd fill. It's driving me crazy.
  14. I am trying to find the post on how much protein, fat and other good stuff to prevent hair loss.
  15. Misty, you are AMAZING! Thanks for dropping back in to give us progress reports. It's nice to see those of you that have been here a few years ahead of us!
  16. Dana, you are doing AWESOME!!!! Keep up the excellent job. I too cannot eat in the mornings. For some reason I slime on EVERYTHING in the mornings. So, I drink a protein shake. Everyone is different and I appreciate you sharing what works for you. Some of us have the same issues and some of us don't but that's what we are all here for, to help one another out and to bounce ideas off of one another.
  17. I chose to go back to OCC for the fact that if anything was wrong, I trust the OCC to fix it right away. My first fill was pretty aggressive at 1.8cc. From what I have read, the OCC IS aggressive in their fills for optimum weight loss. My second fill was only .6cc's but we were able to see via fluro how tight the band was. If you can afford it, I would do it.
  18. I agree 100% with Kristy. Also, the band has just been put in place. There is NO SALINE IN IT FOR RESTRICTION you are in the healing process. I think I only lost 5-8 lbs during the post op and then once I got my fills, I was losing much more. Most of your weight loss is going to come AFTER the fills. Hang in there. This is just the beginning. If you read the profiles of the long time bandsters here, they have hit their goal in a year. I too didn't think it was possible but I am 2 lbs away from the 170's and that means 40 more lbs within the next year for me to hit my 100 lb goal.
  19. OMG, I am lol here! I remember putting them on and Dr Marco making some sort of comment and I told him I was feeling EXTREMELY sexy in the paper panties. Dana, Carmella ripped those darned things off of me as fast as I stood up.
  20. YEA Jenelle!!!! What a fantastic feeling. I am interested in checking out Curves. I will for sure now! I did a total of 5 sprint tri's at my heaviest weight and can't wait to try some of them again this season. An excellent website to get tri help is Beginner Triathlete I look forward to your race/training reports!
  21. Ok, how many times a day are you taking these Green Tea Capsules?? I just bought a huge bottle at Wally World for $9. I took 2 this morning.
  22. Ah yes, get the CO2 to move, roll your shoulders AND a massage! HAHAHAHA I went for the massage because my back was so freaking tight lying in the bed for so long. When I got to the hotel Lucerna, my bell boy, Alonso, immediately grabbed my bags and asked if I wanted a massage in my room. Of course I did! So he had that gal in my room within an hour after I checked in. I believe it was $70. You can get the hotel to arrange it for you ahead of time. I was able to lie on my stomach and cleared this with Dr Miranda before hand. I had no pain/problems with it, then I again, I think the pain meds were still in my system. You can also arrange for your nails to be painted after your surgery in your recovery room. That needs to be arranged with OCC.
