  1. So, when I was at the OCC today, the fill doc told me that I should raise my goal weight. That anything under 170 would be "too skinny" (I didn't know there was such a thing as too skinny in America). I am 5'9 but all those BMI charts and such say I should weigh around 160. Any thoughts on this? Thanks!
  2. I really hope so. It's crazy I gain and lose the same 3 pounds for awhile before I finally drop it. Thank you for your well wishes!
  3. Hi All, Went to the OCC today and it's the first time I've been there where it has been dead in the waiting room, just me and my dad. Still made me wait 40 minutes though to see the fill doc. Anyway, thank you flouroscopy and the peace of mind it brings. After my last episode with the partial unfill, I'm back in the game with 2.4 cc's and my almost stretched pouch and irritation are a thing of the past. My band is positioned well, and the liquid was flowing through the stoma well. Back on liquids for two days. I'm fine with it. I hope I get some restriction back, though I pray never to have acid reflux/heartburn like that again. Waking up in the middle of the night with a mouth full of acid is bad times. The fill doc said there's a fine line between "sweet spot" and overfilled so, I opted for less, but may have to shell out another $100 in a month for a top off. It's worth it. So, I did gain 7 pounds during those four weeks, but maybe because I could actually eat food again (I didn't realize how many foods I was avoiding like the plague because of pbing), my body dropped it during the unfill and now I'm exactly back to where I was a month ago. 202 lbs. I would really like to get under 200 by my one year on August 13th. I think it's doable. I've realized that I'm a slow loser, but it took me almost six months to break a lifetime of bad habits (I still battle with them occasionally) so I only lost the 21 lbs. that I had on post-op. I know this is for life and the body doesn't magically shed the weight overnight. Anyone who thinks that's going to happen needs to check themselves. When the people on this board say you have to work with your band, it's the truth. Learn it, Love it, take care of it like you would an infant.
  4. Congrats Stormy! This is a big deal! I was 199.8 for a day, now I'm back up to 201. My body can't decide if it wants to be under 200. Going for a fill on Thursday, hopefully that will move things along. I'm so excited for you! You can do this--slow and steady is a good thing!!
  5. I might be interested in joining the SD group. Where do you all meet?
  6. Congrats! I am so happy for you! 150 is a good weight. My ticker is set to 165 which I haven't weighed since about 5th grade, so we'll see...Out of curiosity, how much did you lose with the tummy tuck? I know I'll need probably a thight lift as well as an arm lift and a boob lift. Since I didn't carry the bulk of my weight in my stomach and I've had no kids, I'll probably just need some lipo there. Once again, Congratulations! 80lbs is an Olsen twin!
  7. Yeah, I get cramps now too but mine aren't super light. Also my period has been a bit heavier.
  8. For me at the OCC this is what I had: 1st fill= 72 hours liquids 2nd fill= 24 hours liquids/or sometimes no liquids (I didn't have to do liquids after 2nd) 3rd fill=24 hours liquids
  9. You have great arms! I hope my arms look like yours when I reach goal! You look awesome!
  10. The PB may have just irritated your band causing swelling. That's what happened to me and I had a partial unfill from 3cc's to 2cc's almost a month ago. Had to go on liquids for a week and now I'm waiting to get refilled on the 16th. The doc told me after a PB, go on liquids for at least 24 hours to allow the swelling to go down.
  11. Go back on liquids. I guess the reason you're on liquids after your first fill is because you may have swelling--which I guess you did. Finish out the liquids and if you can't drink anything at all, then you need to go back for an unfill--Give it a day or so, maybe the swelling will go down, but stay on the liquids for 72 hours. I had a bad PB about 2 months ago and didn't go on liquids after it and kept eating and I am just lucky that the doc caught it--had to have a partial unfill, go on liquids for 10 days and now I have no restriction so, do the liquids and when you do eat again CHEW like you've never chewed before!!
  12. Hi Clynn, Please keep posting about your hCG journey. I'm very interested in trying this if my re-fill next week doesn't help things along....Good luck!
  13. LMFAO!! Lisa, thank you for this--I was trying to roll around in my head of what to say, but my two cents would have probably read "mean" so, thank you for being the "nice" voice in my head. Cheers! (Please let me know if you have this done, I am thinking about doing this 'cause I've been on a plateau for almost 3 months now.)
  14. The OCC told me no lifting of 25lbs or more for the first 3 weeks while your body is healing.
  15. I had to take milk of magnesia every Sunday for those 3 weeks of liquids, otherwise I didn't go.
  16. Trav! Where have you been all my life?! You always pop in with your smart self and useful information.
  17. Yes, the bullying is the worst. I was severely bullied in 7th grade, with kids locking my bookbag to my desk and such so I couldn't go to my next class. I wasn't as big as I was going to get at the time, but I was big enough. Jr. high and overweight is hell.
  18. I'm so happy for you...and a bit jealous! This is a huge milestone. I hope to be there by my one year in August. 12 more days until I get a fill!
  19. Hi Dana, Let me know how this works for you! If your weight moves again, then I might try to find someone in San Diego who does this. I'm at a serious plateau right now. Good Luck!
  20. Everyone might be different, but according to the fill doc at the OCC--you are not supposed to drink liquids like that. And like Jazzy said, why would you even want to guzzle?? When you have good restriction, you physically cannot guzzle. You'll understand when you get there.
  21. You're not supposed to "guzzle" any liquids. The OCC told me to take a moderate swallow and wait a few seconds before taking another drink.
  22. I buy the big jar of vanilla whey protein at Walmart and stir a scoop in my coffee every day. 26 grams per scoop. 130 calories per scoop. As far as a multi vitamin, I buy the vitagummies for adults at Costco and chew 2 a day. They taste like gummy candy and are really good. Not at all vitaminy. The vitamins are $10 for 200 and the protein is $15 for 2 pounds.
  23. Thank you!!!! Where are you tracking calories at and is it easy enough to where I just put in what food I've been eating...ie one egg + 2 slices low calorie bread etc. ? I, too cannot give up sweets for some reason and the more I eat, the more I crave--I think I will do what you do so, I'm still "rewarding" myself. I think I also need to eat more solid protein, maybe for lunch (even though this isn't where most of my hunger is during the day) so I don't eat the house at night. You've been very helpful.
  24. I know, this weather is making me sweat, but it's a mood killer too.
  25. I'm not having trouble going to the bathroom, almost the opposite in fact. I just have crazy gas and gas pains like the after surgery kind that tend to float around for awhile before they come out. Actually, now that I think about it, I might not be getting enough protein. I have 26 grams in my coffee every day plus I generally will drink a shake or eat greek yogurt for another 15 and then I usually eat some solid protein for dinner so, actually, I think I'm getting at least 60 but not much more than that. I'm not much of a journal person. It doesn't work for me. I tried but then I'd forget to do it. Also, I just realized I might be feeling like crap because I'm on an anti-viral med for 10 days and maybe it's making me feel lethargic/dizzy. I don't know, because I've never taken one before.
