  2. Hey Margaret, My band is 10MM and I only got 1.66cc versus T1 who got 2cc. On Monday when I could eat I had a lean cusine tri tip meal with taters and broccoli... I spit at the last bite because I got this really fast oncoming tightness of the chest. Like the food was sticking as other people have mentioned. I stopped eating took several deep breaths and it passed within 4 minutes. I'm also extra super gassy like it never stops... does anyone know why that happens.... Cheers, Tara

  4. Im 5 weeks Banded, and I know I shouldn't be complaing so soon but how long does majority of Bander port soreness last? It aches all the time and feels much better when I elongate my toro. It feels like its really right under my skin and you can really feel something foregin is inside you. Thanks for the feedback! Cheers, Tara
  5. I have only be banded for little over 3 weeks, and last Saturday I must of eaten to much even though I didnt think it was alot. I had severe chest pains, like right under my left breast. It hurt so bad my breathing was off and it hurt; I had to go to sleep. This has happened to me twice in varying degreesof pain, so pay attention to what you ate before it happens. It could be the combination of food or simply something specific that causes chest pains I try to look at the clock the minute I sit down and try to make sure it takes at least 20 minutes to eat dinner, so I dont eat to much. However, the kicker is the longer you drag out dinner the longer you have to wait to have a drink. Cheers, Tara
  6. Im really glad I continue to read the forum- they do really help me feel normal. I stopped loosign 1 week after sugery, its so frustrating and makes it easy to fall into old ways. I just started solid foods and trying to get all my stuff eaten written done on daily plate, but its hard. I am eating half of what I use to eat, but still not seeing anything on the scale. So I am determine to figure out why. This week promise myself to drink at least 6 8 oz a water a day and walk 30 minutes. Do just that.... then next week I will add something else to my routine... Rules are Dont BEAT yourself up, Remain positive, and start a one new good habit a week! Hope that helps!!!!! Cheers! Tara
  7. I think overall I may have spent some more in the beginning, but I am sure it will balance itself out once I go to solid foods. Here's what I plan to do: Buy all my whey powder and protein bombs on Bodybuilding.com- they are the cheapest out there and ship very fast like 3 days. Look for the special k proten waters when on sale keep a list of regular food items like the Yogurt drinks and buy when on sale Hope that helps! Cheers, Tara
  8. Jessica, Thanks for your words of encouragement. I do believe your right when it comes to water and the protein of course. I finally got an account on dailyplate.com and surprisingly with the cream soups a little sometime has alot of calories in it, so now I am more aware of how much I am eating. However, according to dailyplate if I want to loose 2lbs a week then I can have 1750 calories per day. That seems really high, I thought it was more around 1000-1500. Is there any diet plans on the forum that provide a calorie count per day or suggest recommend plan? I just want to make sure when I get to day 22, that I make sure to follow the right plan.

  10. Hey Queen Fiona, Thanks for your post and the does make sense, but I have gained 4lbs back and I am barely eating! Very disheartening, I could live with not loosing but gaining back what I already lossed is enough to make me go crazy. I am wondering if part of it is that I was not getting enough protein. I realized on Wed this week that I was barely getting 20grams of protein a day, and Dr. Miranda had said at least 30 grams per day- 50 grams of protein was the max. Yesterday I had 27 grams, and still working to get that up today. I am thinking that maybe my body thinks its starving itself, so that is the reason for the gain. I have a call into Dr. Miranda. I got the protein water finally, Safeway didn't have it had to go to luckys's and I also ordered some 25g liquid protein from Bodybuilding.com, so hoping by Monday I might see a shift. Cheers, Tara
  11. Im on the creamy soup stage also, and I use the same size bowl each time. It helps me gauge how much I am eating.... during the first few days I maybe had 1 cup, now its almost 2 weeks Im up to two, but that might be too much in one sitting. Cheers, Tara

  13. Stormy, I heard that most people come in morning and are okay to go home same night. I guess you might need to stick around the area incase you may have to much restriction and need them to make an adjustment. It sounds like most people kinda know about 6-8 hours after fill if they may have too much restriction. I plan on flying in 2 or 3rd week of Nov and flying home same day. Cheers, Tara
  14. Hi Stormy, I have been banded for only 11 days. I got a pill crusher/cutter when I went to TJ- I am sure you can get cutter here at Walgreens or Longs... I tried to mass them and then put them in shout glass with juice, but half of it stuck to the glass. Then I was gulp fasting to hurry up and get refil the glass to finish it off. For pills that are too big to crush like 800 Motrin I cut into 8 pieces and take it that way. I have been fine with that and I had stomach issues before, but test your body and see how it does. For my biotin and fiber they are capsules so I either cut them or unscrew them and pour them in my Dannon Light Yogurt Drink then shake well. PS- I take Ambien-CR and you cant crush them because they are Controlled Release. Dr Orcuza said its okay to take, but when you get a fill if you have problems you may have to switch your meds to just ambien so you can crush. Cheers, Tara
  15. I am 11 days post opt from sugery and the major gas has finally ended. Yes the pain in the should is most gas. I even have a little pain in the lower part of my left breast- just an 1 1/2 above my top incision- im hoping that it will go away I am stealing healing. Cheers, Tara
  16. Thanks Michele for suggesting it. I have made the Heavenly Cheddar recipe that I literally had to dig for on the forum. It was Yummy made a double batch tonight and 1 batch of Tomato Basil Homemade soup. If your gonna eat, might as well as, be something tasty more than just a can! Cheers, Tara

Hi Jessica, I use to eat very big meals stuffing myself and now on day 7 of post opt my daily diet consists of: cup of black coffee dannon light yogurt drink 1 cup ea of homemade cream tomato soup for lunch and dinner maybe a sugarfee lifesaver popsicle I feel satisfied, but I am sure I could probably eat some more if I wasnt afraid something bad might occur meaning suffering physicially. Its probably a combo of the band swelling still and determination to eat less but I doing good. However, it kills me know when I watch tv-even the shows have people in them eating burgers and pizza; I knew the commercials were overkill but never really noticed before how much food is pushed on TV. No wonder America is overweight.... Food for thought... LOL Cheers, Tara
  18. same here CtnwdAZ! I have always had stomach issues so I expected to have the runs the first week and surprisingly I didnt at all. Had a baby bowel movement on day 5, and another on day 7 so I guess that sounds normal. I know what you mean about the bloating I keep holding my tummy like I am expected mother. LOL Cheers, T
  19. I am in week 1 still of post opt diet and hear ya about watching other people eat. When my boyfriend has dinner I go watch tv in the bedroom so I dont have to deal with it. My best friend was kind enough to invite me to a movie and promised she wouldnt eat 1 bite of popcorn in front of me, not that I am big popcorn fan like her. The support from friends is great, just remember its good to feel full before these type of events so you wont feel the need to splurge. During the pre-opt phase I got some grilled chicken before I went to a Pro Football game, and boy was I glad. The guy (i didnt know) next to me was eating a polish dog with mustard and saurkraut, and could smell it so good that I could taste it almost. I envisioned me taking the dog out his hand taking a bite and given it back with a big thank you. The experience reminded me be prepared. Cheers, Tara
  20. Thanks Cathy- I willing be transition into week 2 in a few days and I was wondering the same thing. So the Straw Factor is the gauge- I think I can live with that.   21. I recently bought some tops from Lane Bryant and let me tell you I have received several compliments on them. Very fashionable. Suggest if you buy use the incentive coupon save 25 when you spend 75.00 or something to that effect. It really helps with the cost.
  22. When I was on the pre-opt diet I made the Whey protein with water, soy milk and half frozen bananna. However, when I was at work I just used this strainer mixer which did not keep the shake mixed well. If your going to be on the go, I highly recommend a battery operated mixer you can find at bodybuilding.com. this will be a great help to make the consistency of the protein drink more desirable. They ship fast and the prices cant be beat. Tara
  23. Margaret, I havent been without my heating pad since I got home yesterday. I rotate between my back and tummy, and I have been drinking tons of watered down low calorie cran juice. Everytime I make some broth I make sure to walk up and down the hallway a bunch of times and it does seem to help. Tara
