  1. :lb10: :lb9: Welcome to BANDLAND!! Jenelle
  2. :lb4: All I want to say is, I am the same as you! I eat at night and cant stop! My pre-op diet was hard for me too. Im really not to sure what to tell you to stop as I am still struggling after my surgery! But I will say that the thought of my surgery being canceled if i didn't lose the weight made me buckle down! (I paid way to much to not have the surgery, flights hotels, the surgery itself!) Your doing good, keep up the VERY HARD work! Big hugs and lots of love, Jenelle
  3. Oh one more thing, for those that don't like the thought of being cracked this is a great alternative!!
  4. I loved the Osteopath!! I went for the first time last night and what a difference. He found things that were wrong with me that I didn't even know! I cant remember all the medical terms but he said there are three areas that can slow down weight loss, he said that he would focus my 'adjustments' in those areas to help ensure I lose weight! My right lung was not inflating properly and that could cause me to be short of breath and not being able to take a deep breath. He did what ever he did and instantly I could breath deeper. My right lung not working properly was pulling on my left side and up into my head, he could tell this by looking at me. He said that my left jaw probably clicks when I eat and I hold a lot of tension in the left side of my face! Well he was right I do. So after applying pressure in a few more spots he instantly released the pressure and i could feel my left side relax! None of this was noticeable to me or the untrained eye! I go again in 4 weeks, not 2 days like a chiropractor! When you move the organs and muscles you get a better result, because you fix the problem that is causing the pain or discomfort! Try it, Jenelle
  5. Thank you for this post, I have been really down in the dumps about this band lately and have been struggling with was it worth it syndrome. I am trying to keep my head held high and take it one meal at a time. I have so much going on and the weight just sits there, I'm eating the wrong food and to much food and the cycle just goes on and on. I am going to Curves, Running and training for a triathlon, you would like I should be happy. My last fill ended up being an unfill cause I now realize i should have told the dr. that it was the wrong food that made me PB not the fact that I was to tight. I am going back for a fill on April 23 and I cant wait! So again THANK YOU for reminding me that this doesn't happen over night and its a long learning journey to the finish line! Jenelle
  6. WOW, what an amazing accomplishment. :cheerleader: Jenelle
  7. I'm going to a Osteopath today, I found a Chiropractor only cracks the joints and I get short term results and I'm right back at the office for another adjustment. As where a Osteopath will adjust the muscles and joints and organs so that they are in the right working position to support your body and joints. I will let you know how it goes! Jenelle
  8. I think I might be moving to Fort McMurray if this job opportunity pans out. Is there a fill doctor there? Jenelle
  9. Too late, I just opened their email....AT WORK....!! Jenelle
  10. I was in Girl Guides for 14 years so I know all to well how good the cookies are! They were by my door the other night, I gave them $20 and told them to keep the cookies! Well I told the parent that was with them to let the girls eat the cookies while they were going door to door or at their next meeting! Made me feel good to pass them up! Jenelle
  11. PBing means to throw up your food, this happens when you typically have eating to much or the wrong food and your body cant handle it. You will bring it up, there is no acid as it typically happens before the food hits the stomach. Sliming is sort of the same thing. When you PB you are bring up food and slime. Jenelle
  12. Hello, It depends on the size of your band?! My band is a 10cm/4CC band, which means mine will hold up to 4cc's of fluid. There are also 10cc bands out there...! Jenelle

  14. Like a few others on this site I have been questioning myself what being full means. I have learned that all my life I thought that being full was to be stuffed, feel like you just cant eat another bite. Your sitting at the table and like everyone says "I just cant eat another bite" as you push the plate away. That's what I thought full was. But I guess its not. I feel when I eat that I could eat more but I have a very very slight thought/feeling in my stomach of oh I think I might be full. I have been getting this feeling lately and I am taking that as my sign to stop eating. But in my head I'm not full, I know I could eat more but if I do I would get to that stuffed feeling after a another helping of food. Are you following me so far...? Its hard to explain. There is no feeling of being full is there, the actual feeling is the thought in your mind telling you to stop right? Like the another post said 15-20% of people don't feel full, I think I might be one of them. So my question to you is when you are full do you feel a sensation (like you feel when your stuffed) in you stomach that you are full or is it just a thought you get that you are full? Jenelle
  15. Thanks lisa, I wasn't sure how people would respond to this question! I measured my head and its 23.5 inches around and 12.5 inches from ear to ear going over top of my head. I will check again in a few months! I too have that fat role at the back so it makes sense that it would get smaller! Jenelle
  16. For me it was easy! I want this so bad that I made myself follow the rules, I didn't want to mess anything up this was surgery!! By the third week it was harder, I was sick of liquids all i wanted was to chew something!
  17. :hi: I have a funny question for you all out there...did your head size shrink after losing weight! I have a big head, and I love to wear hats, but having a big head means that a lot of the hats I like are to small for me and end up giving me headaches. Or they just don't fit at all. If I could lose weight around my head it would be great!! I'm thinking the answer is no. Your skull doesn't shrink! Jenelle
  18. HI Sabrina, I think no pain is the way to go! Even after my unfill I still get pain but ONLY when I eat foods that I know I cannot have like, breads etc. Before I was getting suck on almost everything. Try to figure out your trigger foods and stay away from them, then see if you are getting stuck on "normal" foods, if so get an unfill. I would rather this take 2 years to drop the weight then be in pain!!!!!!! I too would have days that I could eat anything even bread, but for the most part i was in pain! Jenelle
  19. After reading this post I have learned that I am not alone on this! Thank God! I don't get full either, I am either to tight or just right and not getting full! I really have to watch my portion sizes and stop when I think I have had enough. After having my unfill last week it has been a very different ball game for me. I am using a lot of willpower and I was hoping that the band would be my willpower for me. But one meal at a time and I try to fill my time with running and going to curves. I really do think that I am in the 15-20% range as I have never really been full. Jenelle
  20. SDGIRL, You hit the nail on the head! That is what i was going through! PBing is to throw up the food. FOR ME, when i was in pain like that i would bring the food up because I was scared of stretching the pouch and or the esophagus. I cannot eat bread, crackers, nuts etc. anything dry like that is just to much for me, even pasta I cannot do. I had an unfill which helped me and I finding that Im not in pain so therefore I know what fill is for me. Pain is not being full, and restriction should not feel like that either. Pain is not good! I think if you are only 4 weeks out you are still swollen and your pouch is small remember! Take is slow like the others have said! Dont worry about your fill just yet, you will know when you need one! You do have restriction without the fluid because your stomach went from football size to golf ball size! The band is a form of restriction. I hope I answered your question. Jenelle
  21. When I was down at the OCC on March 2 I had my first fill of 1.6CC's. For the first week everything was getting stuck and I was PBing all the time. This has now continued for the last few weeks and I would say that I would PB about twice a day. I was too tight! I booked in to see Dr. Mitchell here in Calgary and last night he removed .2CC's from my band. I feel great, I can eat and not have to PB, I can actually feel full rather than pain! When I was tight I didn't know what full was because I was in pain, I could not feel the full sensation. I know I was over eating before, I think it was because I was trying to compensate for the food that I brought up. Just a heads up for the newbies and people that haven't had fills yet, being to tight is not fun! I hope now I will be able to drop a pound or two a week!! Jenelle
  22. Cant wait to hear what they are going to do for you!! Jenelle
