  1. Ok, so I checked it out and they say that I should be about 146.1lbs. That seems to small to me, the OCC told me that I should be about 180lbs, My goal weight is 160lbs, and they are telling me 146lbs. I think my goal weight will be the one I will aim for! Its in the middle. Jenelle
  2. I lost 21.5 pounds in 6 weeks, that's between surgery and first fill! The last 2 weeks I didn't lose any weight. Jenelle
  3. I'm not sure what to say, but I would keep a diary and mention it to the doctors at the clinic! Let us know what they say, if you do mention it! Jenelle
  4. Very cool, I will let you know where I'm at once I check it out on tuesday! Thanks for the great post! Jenelle
  5. I love spicy food! I hope this doesn't happen to me after I get my frist fill! But it good to know that it is something to watch out for. Jenelle
  6. Robbyn, thank you so much for that post!! It made me smile and laugh. A good friend of mine knows that I had this surgery and has not once mentioned how "hot I look", well I will be hot soon. A few other people in my office have commend but she hasn't. I tell her about what they say and how great it makes me fell but still nothing. Oh well!? We all look at each other in different ways and maybe is is embarassed to say something? Do you know what I mean. Maybe she wants to but just doesn't know how to! Jenelle
  7. Let me be the first to congratulate you!! Yahoo! What a great feeling! I'm not to far behind you, I look forward to the day I can say the same, its not easy. Take that picture, girl! Jenelle
  8. I just wanted to say Congrats to everyone who is making a change in their life this month! We all deserve it!! I hope to meet some of you tomorrow at the OCC, I will be getting my first fill! Jenelle
  9. Yeah, thanks guys. I just needed to come clean and write it down! Jen, I hope your fill on Monday in Florida goes well. I will post once I'm done at the OCC. Hugs to all of you! Thank you. Jenelle
  10. Ok, so here I am 2 days from now I will be flying out to Tijuana for my first fill. I know I need on cause the last few days I have been able to EAT. I just finished dinner and I feel as though I have eaten to much. I don't feel stuffed but I am full. I had two pieces of toast, a piece of salmon about the size of a deck of cards, and a spinach salad, about 1.5 cups or so. Not to bad but why did I eat the toast I didn't need it! The part that makes me the madest is that I wasn't hungery when I ate dinner, I had a late lunch, which was a sandwich. So now I'm so full of bread and calories I could cry. I did this before my surgery in my old life, I told myself that I would not do this in my new life. I did not want to sit and eat cause I'm bord or cause I think I might like it have something or hey I know that tastes great I should eat it cause I like it. What does this make any sence to you. Being over weight never makes any sence. Sorry for the rant but I just need to come clean. I hope I have not done any damage to my pouch or band, I guess I will find out on Monday.
  11. Hell ya you can!! Did I read some where that you have the bigger band or am I thinking of someone else!! Remember this is all about eating smaller amounts. No matter what the Dr. at the OCC tells me on monday, I'm getting my first fill then, I have to push my second fill date as long as I can because I can't afford to fly back down there in 4 weeks. If I can do it you can do it. You go girl!
  12. I would do it again in a heart beat!! I just wish that I did it 3 years ago and not wasted so much time with the health care system here in Alberta!
  13. As for the pre-op diet, I had 2 shakes and one lean cuisine meal each day. If I was hungry I had green veggies! I enjoy the Myoplex lite shakes. I bought every flavor so i would not get sick of them! And the post op diet well....you drink for 21 days! So clear liquids and then day 10 you move to drinkable yogurt, and then day 14 you move on to shakes. Drink, Drink, Drink! I have been on solids for about 3 weeks now and I have been eating salads, fish and softer foods. Although I have gotten into the odd cracker and such! I know not to specific but there are so many people here, you will get lots of variety on suggestions. Depending on how much weight you need to lose before your surgery, I may suggest starting now and not waiting until 2 weeks prior, the hardest part for me so far was the pre-op diet, cause I knew i could eat so much more and get away with it! And I was happy that I started a month prior, mind you it was over Christmas, i didn't have the "oh my god am i going to lose enough before the surgery, are they going to cancel it if i don't lose this weight moment!" All the best, Jenelle
  14. YEAH!!! Good for you AshleyMarie =D> You have all the support you want right here on this forum and in me! Welcome to the club...well soon anyways! > Jenelle
  15. Hi Shady, I typed Out of Country Claim Form Ontario into Google and found the same from that I am filling out for here in Alberta! Cant hurt to try! Good Luck Jenelle
  16. Good for you!! Congrats on all your hard work and losing 80lbs!
  17. So now that I have had my surgery and have the time to get this paper work pulled together I have a few questions. Did you have to get a letter from your doctor stating why the services where obtained out of country? Was there any thing else besides your medical report and break down of cost of services that you send in? This is a list that I found, i believe it refers to the claim form, are these the steps and information that you attached to your claim form? By the sounds of it, non of us work get money back because the service is available in Canada. http://www.health.alberta.ca/documents/OOCHSC-Info-Sheet.pdf So I thought I would ask to see what you sent in! Please help me sort this out! I think I should call them Jenelle
  18. Thank you for asking this question, this is one area that I know I will have problems with cause I too am seeing them now and I have only just started my journey! So to everyone out there I'm asking the same question too. Congrats on all your hard work! Jenelle
  19. YAHOO!! Welcome all 7 of you, to the best day of your life! Wishing you all the best, Jenelle
  20. Thank you so much for your post! Its amazing how fast time flies and in 8 SHORT weeks I have lost nearly 40lbs, and I am 30percent to my goal. I buy food now by staying on the outside edge of the store, that way I don't go down the middle and buy all the processed and packaged foods, I too would love to know what program you are following. If you are following one at all! I love to cook and have many health nut friends so I don't think this will be as hard as I think it will be! Thanks again for the post and the words of encouragement! Jenelle
  21. I know everyone is different and it all depends on so many factors.....but I am curious as to how you made your decision to get your second fill. Were you told by your doctor to come back in a certain range of time, like the first fill 6 to 8 weeks or did you wait until you could eat more and not feel the restriction anymore? Jenelle
  22. Thanks Jen, Sorry to hear that bubble baths are out of the question for you! I will fill you in on my fill, ha ha ! On Tuesday when I get home. I cant afford to go back to the OCC either, but there is no doctors where i live that will take me as a patient now that I have had my surgery out of the country. So I have cut back on other things in order to go back to the clinic! This is great we can lean on each other, All the best on Monday, Jenelle > hugs to you too!
  23. I haven't seen Kittycat on for a long time, does anyone know how she is doing? Denise mentioned her breifly in another posting! Jenelle
