  2. The roasted Garlic Chicken! Its the perfect serving size too! I am going to load up my freezer tonight....its very yummy!
  3. Phenergan suppositories would work the best to prevent the nausea and vomitting if you do get sick!
  4. thanks for the info! Can you tell us if he uses flour for this price or is it a blind fill? thanks
  5. I left work and went to my first OA meeting tonight. I wasn't sure if I would fit in or not, becuase I don't overeat anymore....lol. Well, come to find out I fit in just perfectly. People there from all walks of life and different reasons. Mine seemed to be as good as any of theirs. I am going in hopes of getting help to deal with the emotional changes are coming about due to not being able to "pig out" whenever and how much I want. I think I am really in shock how much this has affected me in the head. I miss eating....like I missed my 7th grade boyfriend when he went on summer vacation!! Yes, that bad....lol. But seriously, I have admitted to myself that I do need help with the emotional aspects of eating so that I can successfully use this wonderful too that is the greatest gift (though I do have a $219 payment each month) so I use the work "gift" nicely.... Anyway, for any of those out there who have considered OA, give it a try I enjoyed it and plan to attend every monday night.
  6. I'm going for my first fill on Dec 26! Hope to see someone of you there!
  7. Thanks for your support. I was getting LOTS of protein during the soup phase by supplementing with liquid protein recommended by the dietician here at my hospital. (Pre-digested Liquid Protein at 15g/ dose). Even with that, anytime my stomach was empty enough to cause pangs or growls, I would get the shoulder pain. My primary care Dr. said that with some people it is related to the band aggravating the phrenic nerve when the stomach becomes flat and moves the band/and or passage to the port, which grazes the diaphram. He said that probably once a few weeks go by on solid food, he feels that nerve may not be aggravated as much and the pain will probably subside. I'm happy to report that most of my gas/bathroom problems have resolved in the last 4-5 days. I'm really feeling GREAT today since having ingested some real food. I was soooooooooo happy to feel full at lunch after eating a small peice of fish and a serving of green beans. Its funny, because having to chew so much, it was almost like I got bored of eating, which was great. This last few weeks has taught me a lot about my relationship with food and how much my life revolved around it. There have been multiple times that I have been bored and think, "what can I do?" and eating came to mind. Obviously I have realized I am a boredom eater. so I have been reading or taking a walk instead. I has been a great eye-opener to realize how much I had been eating prior to embarking on this adventure and I am so happy that I have.
  8. My nervous turned into excitement as my surgery date approached! Don't be nervous it is the most wonderful place and will put you at ease immediately!
  9. I want to preface this post with the fact that starting the solid food phase 3 days early was an informed decision I made based on the fact that I was having severe and debilitating shoulder pain related to hunger, and also the fact that I am unable to consume enough soups, etc, in order to keep the pain at bay while working 10-12 hrs at the time. I have been very careful and started yesterday on scrambled eggs, creamed spinach, soft fish, etc. I feel my body was totally ready and have tolerated it very well. It was either that or stay home from work until day 21, which is Wednesday, and that wasn't an option. So with that being said, I am wondering if anyone has used Atkins during the Bandster Hell period in order to try and maintain control of eating and continue losing weight. Being a Atkins "pro" I thought maybe it would be useful in controlling my hunger and helping me to continue my weight loss until my first fill on Dec. 26th. After that time I plan to follow the food pyramid presented by Dr. Miranda. I find while on Atkins I don't get as hungry. I used this as my option for my preop also. So, any input would be appreciated. BTW, shoulder pain has been almost completely eliminated since yesterday!
  10. I pray that I can be as successful as you! I start my gym regimine today!!!! Thanks for sharing, cindy
  11. I was up a few lbs for the first 3-4 days after surgery. Then is started to drop slowing but surely.
  12. I'm less than 3 weeks out and you can barely see the small ones and the larger one is fading quickly. One of them you can't see see at all. I usually scar pretty well, I'm very fair skinned.
  13. GREAT article!!! thanks for sharing!
  14. Dr Mirand drew a line threw the part where it said I couldn't do crunches and said it was up to me when ever I felt like it. Now I can tell you that two weeks out, I don't feel like it at all. We tell our Csection patients at the hospital 6 weeks...I'll probably go by that.
  15. They drew my blood from my iv when they started it. It was just like 5cc....they probably just did a quicky H&H...
  16. I'm getting my first fill on Dec. 26th. I'll probably see you there!
  17. I have lower right back pain due to a small birth defect in my spine. It HURT so bad the few days after surgery due to the gas. Also, i don't think lying flat on the operating table helped much either.
  18. back at work today.....slept in an come in at 11 so it wouldn't be such a long day. thank God I have such a great boss. So far, so good!
  19. I am an RN and work in adminstration at a very good hospital. I woud say the care I got at the OCC was the same quality as I would here. Actually, I think the care was more personal and I felt very spoiled and catered to.
  20. Yep, gas from both ends for me!!!! SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH GGGGGGGGGGAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. yea, it was hurting the worst during a long meeting and after my hour and half commute.
  22. I work downtown and live in Woodland Hills. Its a little far, but depending on the day and time I might could make it.
  23. I've been feeling so great and energetic and then just 4 hours into my day today I started having really really bad shoulder pain (the worst yet) and horrible gas pains all over my abdomen. I'm on day 12 post op and was really surprised that I didn't feel much better being that it has been almost 2 weeks. I'm a nurse (though work in management) and I guess I'm on my feet more that I though. Ugghhhh.......I hope tomorrow is better. Anyone else experience this when going back to work or changing routine?
  24. I am sooooo happy for you!!!!
  25. We did see the trucks full of men with machine guns patrolling and one drug bust happening at a business on the way to the clinic from the hospital, BUT I work in East LA and see worse than that almost every day. So its all about being smart and not going off where you shouldn't be. Take cabs and stay close to the clinic, the hotel, and the tourist areas. You'll be fine.
