  1. Call Dr Miranda...I know she has lt some people start certain solids sooner!
  2. This fill/unfill business is a big pain in the butt. I was scheduled for a small fill Monday and, wouldn't you know it, I had a bad stuck episode last night?! I've been able to eat whatever I want for weeks (even bread and pasta) but during my dinner party last night I couldn't get in more than two bites of salmon before feeling like it was going to come back up. In fact, I felt it sitting in my pouch all night while I was "trying" to sleep. I still feel pressure on my chest this morning. I'm going to do 24-hours of liquids and cancel the fill. FRUSTRATED. Sabrina:)
  3. Don't worry, you're not the only one "in a rutt"..you're just the only one posting about it. I'm sure most people only share when things are going well. I can't tell you how to get out of the rutt, but can offer some advice for the busy times. When I know I'm going to be working tons,I HAVE to carve out some time to stock my pantry with good "grab and go" snacks and prep meals ahead. As soon as I start eating out all the time, or just grabbing something quick, I pack on the pounds. Try to find an hour or two to stock your fridge and freezer. Then take what you need with you for the day. You can get cooler bags that look just like lunch bags. Get organized. Have a plan. Hope this helps. Sabrina:) ps- I find if I keep an assortment of low or no-cal flavoured waters around (including in my car), I'll drink more water and snack less. Some faves are Sobe Life Water, Skinny Water and Fuze. Sabrina:)
  4. Dr. Ric Arsenau at St. Pauls Hospital...he is banded too!
  5. What a nightmare about the after-care. Cleanliness is critical so you don't get an infection. That place needs to be shut down!!! I hope you told Dr. Campos. I'm glad you were happy with him at least. He is who I want to go to for my surgery because I think his work is the best I have seen (in Mexico, Canada or US) but I don't speak a word of Spanish and still don't like what's going on in TJ with the crime so I'm still on the fence. My second choice is Dr. Nyte in Washington State. I have most of the money saved now but I'm SO SO SO scared of the pain. I need an extended tt and inner thigh lift. I don't know how I can come back from that and take care of two young children. Anybody want to chime in on your recoveries, please do. Sabrina:)
  6. TOTALLY normal!!! It's called "bandster hell" the period you go through after surgery and before you get some restriction. It could take 2 or 3 fills to get restriction so hang in there. Sabrina:)
  7. Aren't you in Vancouver? There are a dozen places here and in Washington State you can go. Why Spokane? If you want to call me to discuss, I just pm's my phone number. Sabrina:)
  8. I lose the most when I up my protein and cut out carbs. Since eating carbs again the past few months I haven't lost anything. When I have a good fill, I can't eat carbs at all. Right now I have very little fill and I'm trying to saty away from them but it's a daily struggle. Also, DON'T SKIP BREAKFAST! Sabrina:)
  9. Strange. I just clicked on another thread that Revy posted in and it loaded instantly. I wonder why it's slowing down for you? Either way, I'll save my before and afters for the gallery so I don't put anyone else out. Have a great day everyone! Sabrina:)
  10. I've never had a problem with stuff not loading fast...even those with big pics in their signature. Maybe I just have a super fast computer? I LOVE seeing the before and afters in the signature and wish I knew how to post mine...altgough I won't if it slows you guys down. Sabrina:)
  11. I have a severe sensitivity to NSAIDS too but I was never told it was gastritis. I was just told not to take any Nsaids after attacks landed me in emergency three or four times. I had this before the band, so I've been off Nsaids for years but remember reding an article once that said people with bands should avoid taking nsaids in general- can't remember why but I will look for the article. So many over-the-counter meds are n-saids so it's a real pain. Luckliy, as long as I don't take them, I have no problems with pain. Sorry to hear you are going through this. Another thing to look in to is gallstones since gastritis and gallbladder attacks can present themselves in similar ways. Tons of people on here who are/were overweight (including me) have had to get their gallbladders removed. My doc (who can be a little insensitive) calls it the "3 F's disease"...affecting people who are fat, fertile, or forty-ish. Sabrina:)
  12. I just have to keep all the crap out of my house because if it's there, I'll eat it! Other than that, all I can say is "one day at a time". Just because you screwed up yesterday, doesn't mean you have to today. I was terrible all weekend (thanks Easter Bunny) but will start fresh today. It's never too late to start again. Sabrina:)
  13. It seems the more fill I have, the more the port bugs me. Taht might be why, Bogiesmom! Sabrina:)

I strongly believe in "do as I say, not as I do" but this transformation was without working out AT ALL. I just started working out (barely) in the New Year for health reasons, but the arms and boobs went away simply by losing FAT before that. Sabrina:)

Thanks Sandy! You'll get there! Just not always as fast as we hope:) I have been hovering around this same weight for a few months and would really like to get the scale moving again myself- although even if I stayed this weight forever I'd still feel like a success! Sabrina:)
  16. Let us know how the lipo goes. Hope you have a quick recovery! Sabrina:)

Interesting about the arms, huh Angie? The places I've noticed my loss the most are face, arms, and breasts. Now if only I could do something about the tummy (or should I say tummies...I have two ponches) and upper thighs. I'm still holding off on plastic surgery until I am at a weight where I know if I need it or not. I think if I lost another 20 pounds I wouldn't even need it. My skin seems to be bouncing back pretty good. Sabrina:)
  18. Almost sixteen months in and I still get them sometimes!

  22. Amber, I know it's hard to see other people losing faster than you but 15 pounds in 6 months is okay...more than half a pound per week. I've seen many people get to goal at this pace, it just takes longer but you will get there! And when you do, you will likely STAY there! Stay positive. I swear, some days I have "willed" this weight off, lol. You deserve it, your baby deserves a healthy, happy mom. Kiss that guilt good-bye. Sabrina:)
  23. I'm going looking for investment properties in a few weeks. I have never been and have no idea what neighbourhoods to stay away from. Advice? Sabrina:)
  24. Exactly!!! I have no problem losing weight, but I've never been able to keep it off before. Not until now:)
  25. My husband likes McDonalds so when we go, I get my son a double cheeseburger and take one meat patty out for me, then have it with a garden salad! The one meat patty is the perfect size and it feels like I'm getting my junk-food fix. Sabrina:)
