  1. The pre-op diet was very hard for me too. The first few days are the hardest. The best thing to do is just think about how you have already one day behind you, then two days, then three... I wanted to give up and postpone the surgery but I somehow stuck through it. Concentrate on WHY you are doing this and the longterm benefit: You need the LAP-BAND!!!
  2. How long did it take you between the first and second fills? I'm hearing that some people didn't have any restriction until after the second fill. Can you get the second fill right after, like six weeks later?
  3. I'm the opposite - I can probably burp 50 times in a row if I wanted! It's insane! I've never burped much and now it seems it's all I do.
  4. I'm doing a better now that my PMS is over. I was absolutely ravenous! Now I am eating a lot less. Definitely looking forward to the fill!
  5. I haven't been doing that great since going back on solids the past few weeks. It's three weeks till my first fill at the OCC. I don't know if what I am doing is cheating the band or pushing the band, because i''m not sure what the band is doing for me right now with no restriction. Basically I can eat whatever I want, because I eat it really slowly. So basically I ate way too much food over a slow period of time. The past few days I have been PMSing, which is normally the time I would really eat out of control. I am feeling lousy and I hope the fill can somehow get me back on track. The first three weeks after surgery was great, I was fine. It has been adding food back that make it hard. :(
  6. Don't drink one hour after eating. If you're thirsty, drink first. The liquid goes down quicker so you can eat right after.
  7. I always check the box to stay logged in, but it always logs me out when I exit the browser. This only happens on this forum. Other forums and my mail stay logged in. What's up
  8. GO FOR IT. I wasted too long trying to get insurance to cover it, or getting a loan to pay for the whole amount to get it done here. I wish I had gone to Dr. Ortiz a year ago.
  9. I overate tonight and had my first PB experience. I had sort of assumed I didn't have any restriction and the band wasn't doing anything. I guess I was proven wrong!!!! :o I will start on the chewable fiber asap.
  10. I've been getting lots of protein in, but I'll try the FiberChoice. I still have a ton from the pre-op diet.
  11. men always lose weight faster! It's not fair, but it's life. Congratulations on all of YOUR success so far too!
  12. Is this normal? I guess I don't have any restriction. It's so devastating after all the wonderfulness (and weight-dropping) of the first few weeks. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
  13. I did a search by email for that address and it didn't give me any results... here's my profile: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=9613116
  14. and whenever anyone tags a pic of me, I have to run and untag it! LOL!
  15. yeah I asked here about jello pudding, and was told it was OK! I had quite a bit of Jello during the 21 days. Not the first week, but after. I thought it was liquidy.
  16. the best thing about exercise is listening to music for me! If you don't have an iPod or mp3 player, get one immediately. It helps the time fly by. I love to walk, mainly.
  17. I added you! My profile pic is from about 75 lbs ago... I haven't posted any pics of myself this big!
  18. I think the itchy means it's healing. As long as the incisions are not bleeding or oozing anything, I assume it is fine.
  19. Good job!!! Before and after pics are so inspiring!
  20. I would suggest a Jello dessert or pudding. I had some pudding with whipped cream during the second week of the liquid stage and had no problems with it. And kids love Jello!
  21. I was banded three weeks ago Friday, and I still have gas and shoulder pain! I was never much of a burper but I've been trying to force it out that way! The shoulder pain is terrible, it's like a bad cramp. I do lots of shoulder rolls and stretching and that helps it a bit. Keep Gas-X with you at all times!
  22. Hi LaDonna, I have heard that but don't know any details. You should contact your benefits phone number. PS I live in Norman.
  23. I haven't weighed myself all week, but last time I did I was about 20 lbs down since a month ago. Today I got my first big compliment - a friend at work told me "You're disappearing!" =D> =D> =D> =D>
