  1. Yep I get it too, but it is more in my throat/chest area than my stomach. And yes, if you are close by me, you can hear it. But hey if this means that I FINALLY have restriction then YAY!!! I just realized that I can no longer eat tortillas, one bite and misery almost immediately. I am a little sad about it but not too sad. I am fat because I have an addiction to breads, pastas, rice and tortillas! If I can't eat them anymore then I won't be fat anymore right?! lol!
  2. I can eat every type of rice EXCEPT sticky rice, I just found that out 2 days ago too, I was out to Thai food and took one bite and got it stuck right away, not pleasant!
  3. I too have very little restriction with 2.4 cc's in my band and am also going in for my 3rd fill on Tuesday! I am praying that I get some good restriction finally with this fill, it is getting so frustrating and I have not lost any weight in over a month!
  4. "Blind" Fill is such scary term that they use! It makes it seem like they are just going to jab a big fat needle into your belly and go poking around a bit! LOL! There were two ladies there to do my fills, one found my port and held it stable while the other numbed the area and then gave me the saline injection. It was so easy I don't even know why I was nervous! I HATE needles too and was very surprised at how easy it was! I think I was more scared getting my IV for surgery! Anyways, good luck and do what is easiest for you and makes you feel the best! I probably will have a flouro fill next time just to put my own nerves at ease about my band since I never had a chance to do it in TJ And in my opinion about the farting thing --- LET EM RIP GIRLS!!!!! haha!
  5. Both of my fills so far have been blind, it wasn't scary at all and I can definitely tell that I have had fills because I do have a small amount of restriction. The only reason I want to do a fill with flouro next time is to make sure that I haven't stretched my pouch out. The nurses at the place I go said that fills under flouro everytime isn't necessary as long as your port is easily findable, I know that contradicts with what OCC says but it is putting your body under X-Ray and you don't get any more of a fill from it. Anyways, good luck and hopefully with this next fill you get great restriction! and hopefully I will soon too!! Have a great weekend!! OH and have fun in Vegas too, I'm jealous!!
  6. My gas is BAD! I am constantly having to leave the room to fart or something! lol! Oh well, I hope it does get better eventually but I am sure that if I can eventually lose some weight then it will be worth it to me! I am still hungry and I just got done with my 2nd fill I have been going up to NW Fill Management and I have 2.4 cc's now in my 4 cc band. I am still able to eat quite a bit, more than I feel I should be able to eat anyway. And I get hungry. I haven't lost any weight at all in the last month so I have been really really frustrated the past few weeks which is why I haven't been on here too much lately. I have recently started working out more and taking my daughter to the park on sunny days so hopefully being more active will help but I am not eating terribly it is just that I am able to eat more than 1/3 of what I used to and that sucks! I am sure it is just my mind trying to freak me out but I want to do flouro on my next fill because I am all paranoid that I have stretched my pouch or something. I haven't done anything to stretch it out but that naturally is what my mind goes to! Anyways, good luck with the Fill Centers USA in CA Ckikii, I don't think you should have to wait 10 weeks for another fill, that just seems like unfair torture!!
  7. Congratulations! It's hard to believe we were riding that shuttle across the weird border crossing into TJ almost 2 months ago now! This is the best thing I have ever done as well even though I am not doing the best with my foods right now and not loosing much but I am getting my 2nd fill on the 5th so thank God for that! Take care and good luck with the biking!!
  8. Hey Ladies! I am glad your fills went well! I am actually not sure how much I got, I think it was about 2 cc into my 4cc band. I am on solids again now and have had an interesting weekend with them. I definitely am eating a lot less before I am full, not quite a 1/3 of what I was eating before. I am not hungry between meals, so far I have really only eaten because I knew I needed to. The only bummer is that I am still able to eat all the gluten-y foods like breads. I haven't gotten anything stuck yet thank god but I do get a bad side ache if I eat too much. Anyways, I was told that I could go back for another full cc in 2 weeks but I am thinking that since I do eat a lot less and I am not hungry that I will probably just get a 1/2 cc because I am scared to know what being too full is like! Good luck to everyone on this next step! I was excited this morning when I got on the scale and I was on the downward slope again, only a pound but hopefully it will be continuously down now! Take care!
  9. As far as the liquids go I can't tell yet, I am getting fuller a little faster but my first instinct is to say that nothing is really different yet. Good luck with yours today! May we start loosing lots of weight!
  10. It went pretty well actually. They said my port was located a little higher on the abdomen then most patients but at any rate they filled me up and sent me on my way. I am a little nervous because I don't know if I have any restriction or not yet, I have been on liquids all day and tomorrow so we'll see how the solids go in a couple of days. Good luck with yours tomorrow!
  11. Just make sure you get that protein in! And remember what Dr. Ortiz told us, spend the next 3 weeks testing the band by seeing how little you can eat rather than how much you can eat. This part has been the hardest for me, I just had my first fill today, but the last 3 weeks I have been able to eat the same as I did before so it has been difficult to make those healthy choices and eat less. Exercise also really helps to bring energy back. Good Luck!!
  12. Well had my 1st fill today at NW Fill Management! The ladies were very nice and didn't mind that I had to bring my 1 year old with me! I did not have the flouro but I haven't had any problems since surgery so I didn't think it was necessary. They found my port pretty easily, I guess it was placed a little higher on the abdomen then usual but at any rate I had just a couple of pinches and then I was done! I am now sitting here with my tummy full of a small bowl of yummy tortilla soup! I am a little nervous since I just don't know what to expect. Am I going to feel restriction or not? I can't tell yet so we'll see how the next few days go! The nice thing is that if I have no restriction from this that I can go back in 2 weeks and get a full cc more for only $50. Anyways, that is how it went Hope everyone else's went great too!
  13. Same here! My dad is in town so we went out to dinner tonight and I ate pretty much the same meal that I used to. I don't even feel overly full either which is why it sucks so bad! I totally can't even tell i ever had surgery right now so I am just praying that I get some restriction on Thurs!! My TOM is next week too so I am battling that too, ugh!!
  14. Good Luck on your fills ladies! Mine is on Thursday at 2 up in Marysville, WA and I am not expecting much in the way of restriction but I hope I get something. My appetite is back with a vengeance as well. I can eat anything and everything almost the same as I used to, it sucks!
  15. Congratulations! I am sitting right around 20 lbs lost too and i can't really even tell that I have lost anything yet just because my body is so differently shaped after having my baby last year. I know that my boobs will be one of the 1st things to go unfortunately, my sister lost a bunch of weight and we now joke that her nick name is Noobs for "No Boobs". I fear that will be my fate too! That and a flat butt! Oh well, it will be so good to be thin that I don't really care at all!
  16. It took me over a week to be able to burp again. Every time I would drink anything it was this awful feeling of needing to burp and just couldn't. Eventually I was able to let little ones out but even now I can't burp large burps anymore. I guess it's just a small price to pay! Congrats on your surgery!
  17. It does qualify as a clear liquid. However, Dr. Miranda told me to avoid them and drink Gatorade instead. I did have a few during the liquids phase, I love the mixed berry, it tastes like Jello!
  18. Thanks Chopper!! I am getting a fill a week from today at NW Fill Management and I am SOO ready for it! I do eat less but not enough less and i can eat whatever I want right now which is not good for me because I make bad choices. I hope that things like breads and tortillas don't work for me anymore because they are the primary reason that I am fat. Right now I am just trying to make sure I don't gain any weight back. I am sitting right at 20 lbs lost so keeping my fingers crossed that i never see the 230's again. Good luck with your progress and new restriction!!
  19. I am feeling the same way. I was down and then back up and then down again and luckily today I was at 18.5 lbs lost so I know I haven't gained anything but I haven't been making the best food choices and part of me seriously wants to go back on the liquids diet until my fill! My friend had her lapband in Mexico city about 5 years ago and she was on liquids for 6 weeks after her surgery so she didn't have to go through this awkward stage except for 1 or 2 days before her first fill... I am just frustrated because I don't know what to eat or how to eat and I am just scared that I will gain back those 19 lbs before I hit my "sweet spot"... Ugh...
  20. I know it sounds crazy and probably won't help calm your nerves, but the morning I left I was crying because I didn't want to leave my daughter and I told my sister in tears that if anything happened to us to make sure that she went to my mom. I knew everything would be fine but I just wanted to make sure that someone knew what we wanted so if something did happen that I knew she'd be in the best hands. That said, you will be just fine, I never really even felt like I was in Mexico. Granted my husband and I just hung out in the room and watched movies all day but we never felt unsafe at all and the OCC was great! Take care and rest easy, before you know it you'll be home safe and sound!
  21. I am counting down the days to my fill on the 19th too. Same thing happened to me, the first 2 days of solids I was almost afraid to eat anything and I felt really full most of the day and then all of a sudden I am able to eat pretty much the same as I used to. I am not eating the same as I used to but that is strictly due to the fact that I know I am not supposed to so I stop myself. I am a stay at home mom so I am sitting around my house all day and I used to snack constantly, now I am just trying to make sure that I stay out of the kitchen until meal times. The 19th can't come quick enough!! Hang in there ladies!
  22. $19,500 at the clinic closest to where I live $at the OCC Dr.s, nurses, staff were all wonderful and the doctors in the US could learn some bedside manner from them in my opinion. Clean facilities and operating room - Dr. Ortiz joked with me that I could tell my family that the dirt floors in the operating room were very clean and they kept all the chickens outside! So I have and they all laugh Hotel was excellent and clean. So far this has been one of the best decisions of my life and I can't wait until I loose all the weight! Good luck with your journey!
  23. Hi There! I grew up in Leavenworth but I now live in Kirkland. Where are you from? I was just banded on the 9th of Jan. and I am going to be getting my fills done at NW fill management up in Marysville. I know that is probably a ways to drive but it is cheaper than flying to San Diego... Good luck with everything!
  24. Great Job! I have had a couple of instances lately with this too! I was in a bridal party this last weekend so I had to go to the rehersal dinner still on liquids and just told everyone I was doing a "weird liquid diet" but that I was getting sick of it so I'd be eating for the wedding! The next day was my first on solids and it was a "bridesmaid's dinner" where they took us out to pizza, oh lord I thought, what if the crust gets stuck?! So I had a tiny bit of salad and one slice of pizza and it went down really well and no one suspected a thing! I did have one person ask me if my dinner at the wedding was good because I didn't finish it and I said, oh yeah it's awesome but I am SO full! lol I don't think anyone suspected a thing. The only bummer is that I am not really feeling restriction at all right now so I am definitely looking forward to my fill on the 19th, it can't come soon enough in my opinion!
  25. Hi! I am on day 20 of liquids and have had a couple of small cones from Dairy Queen when I was craving food really bad. I just didn't eat the cone.
