  1. Hey Dawn - I wouldnt keep going back to that place after that. I woulda been pissed

I had my unfil from 2.6 to 1.6 - today was my first day being able to eat since then - and honestly it is the most I have been able to eat in about ohhhhhhhhh 7 months!!!!!!! I PB'd a lot. It was horrible. I think even though this 1.6 may not be my sweet spot I think it will be enough for me. Time will tell :)

  2. well good luck! Id love if you stayed in touch :) PM is best - actually email is even better - if u ever want it just pm me. Anytime u need motivation or help feel free to let me know! If it werent for my friend and I emailing everyday to eachother I wouldnt have had the success I have had :)

  3. Lots of people have gone alone. I have to admit though - I wouldnt be able to. When I have the little pill that relaxes me before surgery, and then being under anethesia(spelling?) I actually am kind of out of it for the next few days. I dont even remember the day after surgery. Also - to be 100% honest....it was intimidating and I think it makes it a lot easier to have a companion...what about a friend?

  4. actually I didnt get to see my friend - I came home a day early - which is nice because I have a day (today) to relax, which I never get to do. Unfortunately I didnt get to go shopping though!

My unfil went great - I went from 2.6 down to 1.6 and I thought the liquids would kill me lol - but its not too bad. I think its because I feel so much better. Ive lost 3 pounds ha ha - so Ill be at my complete goal weight in a day or two.

How did things go for you???? It was nice meeting you too! :D

  5. I too just got a big unfil - I was lucky and didnt have to have it all taken out. I went from 2.6 down to 1.6 and I feel sooooooooooooo much better. I didnt feel too tight after my last fill for awhile - but it seemed to get tighter and I couldnt even take a deep breath. I couldnt get down to have an unfil because of time - I have non - really- but MAKE THE TIME! I flew to TJ monday had the unfil and flew home yesturday Tuesday. I feel like a million bucks - I can breath! Even though I am doing liquids for 5 days and maalox. He said things are in place but that Im lucky too.

    I feel sooooooooooo much better!

  6. I feel SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better! I admit I can even breath better - seriously. I always felt like I couldnt take a deep breathe and well I feel way better. He said everything looked good - but that my stomach was a little swollen - thanks to a MAJOR PB session the day before. So Im on liquids for five days ewwwwwwwwwwwww - but Im down a few pounds lol I should be 135 by the end of this.

Thanks S :) I was happy I didnt have to have a complete unfil - and I dont think Ill gain. I am too determined to keep being a size 6 lol

I went from 2.6 down to 1.6 yippie

  7. Well I am on my way to tj for an unfil. I had a few bad pbing days and had enough. I am now worried wondering how much they'll take out-but I need it! I'm back wed and will post an update as to what happens! Not sure if I'm having it monday or tues - still waiting for that confirmation. Ugh-that stupid needle lol I know I'm a wimp since u barely feel it. Its just the idea of it again!

  8. hell no - lol...okay but seriously, I ate a small meal but ate it early. I have had many surgeries before and know the gas pain hell one can experience after surgery...I also make my body as empty as can be ;) so I dont suffer again. I once passed out from the pain being so bad. I now am very careful of what I eat the day before I have any surgery and dont eat anything that might possibly make me get gassy or sore.

  9. um - its not the fills that are expensive for me! Its buying all the new clothes!!!!!!!!!! Going from a 14/16 to a 6 is EXPENSIVE!

But honestly - it depends if u plan to go back to the OCC. I cant even remember how much that costs now...sorry - and cost of flights

For me to get a fill (in Alberta) it costs me anywhere from 500 to about ohhhh 1300, depending on flights at the time. Hotels are pretty cheap there. Just if you want to watch your $$ dont go shopping in san diego lol - the stores are fun!

  10. Oh its been a few years since I went there - but the museam is FREAKING amazing! Wish I had a whole day to look around! Trolley around the city - we walked and it was cold...but it is beautiful! Honestly I cant remember what things are called - oops and I am too lazy to pull out my scrapbook. We also went to the old penetentiary (okay I cant spell) - that was VERY COOL - again, it was really cold in there though, since dark etc - so dress warm, I froze my butt off!

The King of Prussia mall was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had to buy two more suitcases on top of the two huge empty ones I already brought down with me lol

Check with someone who is from there though on which areas not to walk around in.

Oh - we also went to the aquarium in NJ :) It was just a trolley ride away, and I got some amazing pictures!

    :lb14:

    So I was thinking,

I am going to Philadelphia in early October and wanted to know if anyone has recommendations on what to see and experience while there...

  11. ok - Ill try!

To fight the urges - I will be completely honest ok, no one jump down my throat for it. I had to resort to chew and spit - seriously. Or I never would have made it. I am sure there are better ways but I dont care what anyone says, when I was desperate and new nothing else would work - that is what I did. I didnt do it much - maybe 10 or 15 times.

I only know people online who the procedure did not work for, no one personally sorry- or well I guess its a good thing!

Yup - I am horrible for eating ice cream and chocolate. I am slowly still fixing that. I buy a box of 100 calorie chocolate bars and put them in the freezer and have one a day so I dont go over board - but be careful, I have eaten 3 in one day a few times. Due to needing an unfil it hasnt done any damage yet - but dont get into those crappy habbits! I was doing really good and started those bad habbits and seriously they seem to be harder to break now!

It is VERY VERY VERY hard for my brain to catch up with my weight loss. I can completely understand why some places make you do counselling now.

It is 110% worth it! Yet I still have days where I think - I HATE THIS BAND...but really I love it....we have a love/hate relationship - but I think that is more to being too tight orrrrrrrrrrrrr it could be that I would kill for a big mac!

hello, im going in for my surgery sept 25th and im really excited. this is the first time i have ever gotten such a life changing procedure. im not nervous or scared i just have some questions that i would like to put to people that have actually had it done and know what im going through. what do you do to fight urges? do you know anyone that the procedure did not work for? im sure there are foods and ways around the lapband to eat what you want? have you ever done it? what were the results? i am very dedicated to losing the weight and working hard, but i know myself and it took me 25 years to develop these bad eating habits, i know their not going away over night. i know im not alone in this. im just looking for some people that are willing to be truly honest with me. thanks. eddie
  12. Its so hard to say! They said they lipo'ed and took off over 10 lbsss.....but I weighed the same after surgery - I think from being swollen????? I dont know - I still weigh roughly the same now 4 months later - but you can definately tell - its really weird lol

  13. okay - first this definately isnt the easy way out - it has been the HARDEST thing I have ever done in my life! but well worth it. Unfortunately their are always people out there who do not follow the "if you dont have anything nice to say, dont say anything at all" rule. One of my "friends" actually said to me something along the lines of didnt I feel bad taking advantage of my personal health care for them helping with my surgery when I only had a few pounds to lose. UGHHHHHHHHHHHHH but I think it is because she has been struggling to lose weight herself for her wedding and has gained weight. But - I just went clothes shopping today and bought 4 pairs of size 6 pants. Karma I tell you!
