  1. Thanks for sharing your experience. It sounds like you might get your sweet spot this time. Do you bruise at all after a fill?
  2. funmama - sorry about the surgery getting pushed back. I hope your kids feel better soon. Bogiesmom is right...the 14th will be here before you know it.
  3. I was wondering if you decided to do the surgery too. I hope she answers this post. She did get some great advice though.
  4. Oh wow that isn't bad at all. I was thinking that they did a full blood panel on you. Glad to hear that. Bogiesmom. I appreciate it.
  5. Thanks again ladies. I appreciate it.
  6. Thanks again ladies. I am just over the moon excited for the band.
  7. Angie - how did the fill go today? Hi Felicia - congrats on the band. Cheryl - good luck this Friday. Let us know how it was. Janice- thanks for the reassurance. I would not mind going alone but my honey is freaking out. I am freaking out because I don't want to leave the kids alone for three nights. Our son has Autism so it is hard for him to understand why we are not there. I will definitely try the broth.
  8. I tend to be chatty too. There is nothing wrong with that. There is a doc who is 1/2 hour from me in Truckee, CA. that does fills and will see me but I am tempted to go back to TJ at the OCC for my first fill. This doc does not offer fluoro.
  9. Wow what a great goal!! I love Disneyland. It is one of my favorite places ever. I am also addicted to carbs and sugar so I am looking forward to the 3 week post op diet helping me break that addiction. Thanks again for your input.
  10. I understand about eating in front of the family. I will be one week post surgery on Christmas day. I have to make a big dinner for the family. They all know that I will be on my liquid diet so it will be ok hopefully. Where do you get your fills?
  11. Debbie - sounds like you are doing really well. What kind of exercise are you doing every day? Was it hard to cut out carbs? Keep up the great work. Bogiesmom - I like the idea or more rigid rules but I know how I am. I will break them just to rebel. Anyhow, it sounds like you have a great program working for you. I have done WW many times and I get really obsessive with the points. I wonder if it would be different after having the band? You are also right about using points wisely. If it were up to me on some days I would use all 25 points on a bunch of Double Stuff OREO's. Thank you for the input. Katrena - what kind of proteins are you eating? jhawkchick- thanks for the advice. It sounds like you do somewhat of a South Beach Diet? Lots of healthy protein, fruits and veggies? What kind of races do you train for?
  12. Angie - good luck with the fill tomorrow. Did you go to OCC? How is everyone doing on their pre-op diets? I was down 4 lbs. but am up 3!!! Need to get my butt in gear these coming two weeks. I am getting a little noivuss because I have not received my passport yet. Should be here any day though.
  13. Wow I was thinking that the picture was from a month or so after surgery. Thanks for posting. Makes me feel much better.
  14. What are the pre-op tests that are done (if you have no health issues) and are the results received before the surgery begins?
  15. I am having my pre-ops and surgery on the same day too. Wow we are really going to be sliced and diced and poked and prodded aren't we? lol I hope to see you there.
  16. For all of you that have been banded and lost weight successfully; do you follow any particular diet or are you eating whatever you like (just much less of it)? I have always been a diet junky and would love to throw my diet mentality out the window but I am wondering if I will need to go on some sort of plan like WW or something to keep the weight off. Thank you.
  17. I love sashimi too but they usually serve it over a little ball of rice. I will have to ask them to leave the rice out.
  18. Bogiesmom- wow thanks for that list. Awesome. I am getting banded in two weeks and will definitely be using this. Thank you.
  19. I am getting banded on the 18th so we will probably see one another. Are you staying at the Marriot or at the Lucerna?
  20. Wow that was very inspiring. I joined this group a little less than a month ago. I am getting banded in exactly two weeks. I can not believe the support and positive energy that is here on this forum. So glad I joined and I plan on sticking around and being a part of this group.
  21. Wow thanks for sharing your pictures. They are truly inspiring and you are gorgeous!
  22. I will join you. I am not getting banded until Dec. 18th but I know how I am. I will weigh myself each day and make that day either "bad" or "good" depending on what the scale tells me. Wednesday is a good day to weigh.
  23. I am getting banded on the 18th and staying at the Marriot. We should get together and have broth or something. lol I am really excited too.
  24. Thank you Darrel. Congrats on your weight loss.
  25. I am just curious if anyone is able to eat sushi with the band? I keep reading the sticky rice is a problem for bandsters. Sushi is my favorite but I would gladly give it up for a healthy life.
