  2. Thanks for your comments all...I am heading down in one month! Very nervous and excited...my daughter was done in January and is also doing well...
  3. Hello, I agree with Jill. I am on the pre-op diet too and I am doing the two protein shakes and one frozen meal except I switched to Amy's all natural/organic. Also, benefiber..Lots of water, tea, and if real hungry a string cheese in the afternoon, so far I have lost 5 of the 12 I am supposed to loose...I just think of my daughter who did this first and make myself read, walk, or go to bed if I get a weak moment! Hang in there..its worth it. Michele
  4. So this is the first time I have felt like using a blog....I have had other opportunities but didn't feel like using them. But, as I look ahead a month (band date 3/26), and reflect on my daughter's procedure (1/7), I know that it is crunch time, now or never, I don't want to die - face reality.....I am pretty nervous about the surgery although my daughter went thru hers fine and she will be with me (getting her first fill). Let's face it - no one likes surgery...I feel pretty positive about the outcomes based on my daughter's slow but steady weight loss even after she returned to school - she has maintained her commitment, and is a motivator for me to also succeed. I just hope I manage through without any problems....The first week on the eating plan has been OK, but today the 4th day I am feeling hungry and had to have a small protein snack. I will weigh in on Sunday and hope that I have lost...something..I have been loosing but have hit a platue..not good for future surgery so I have started the diet a bit earlier..you know the one with two shakes and a meal...anyway I have to keep strong and my goals in sight..
  5. Congradulations on going for it. I am 49, and wish I had done this 20 years ago if it was available then. I have suffered since 18, gaining and loosing...I have watched my daughter do the same and we both have tried everything. For the past 10 years I have not gained but had to work really hard to loose and then just stayed the same..only low carb helped. She was banded 1/7 and now I'm next.

  6. Hi,

When are you going? I'm in March and my daughter 21 was in January --she too was scared but we made it and because of her great results I'm going for it..a little nervous but only because it is such a huge lifestyle change..but watching my daughter go through it I know I can and we will be there for each other. She told me this forum was a great place to be and I agree.
