  1. I personally did the stir my food, or play with my food thing and make it look like I was eating. In reality just eating till I was full. You'll learn to order very small types of food,, like a small house salad and stuff like that. If your with family, get used to doing the doggie bag thing. Portions are going to be way too much for you to eat at a restaurant. You can eat for a couple days on what you bring home in that doggie bag. lol

  2. I can't tell you which pre-made shakes are best. But when I travel I take a scoop of powdered protein and a scoop of powdered milk in a sandwich bag. Then I mix with water whenever I want a shake. This way it goes through TSA screening at the airport and I just buy a bottle of water or bring an empty bottle and fill it at a drinking fountain when I'm past TSA's checkpoint.

  3. I have Hashimotos thyroid, diagnosed in 1998. I was lapbanded back in 2007 and then went to the sleeve in 2014. I don't see any big difference between the two procedures and having a thyroid issue, as long as you take your daily dose of Synthyroid or the generic version Levothyroxine.

One piece of advise,,,  stay on top of your TSH levels. I try to keep my TSH number between 1.0 to 2.0. But, everyone is different. A couple years back they came out with new "Normal" levels, that range is .3 to 3.3

    I feel my best at 1.0 to1.5

  4. Hello everyone, newbie here from Canada. Had lapband done in 08. planning on having a sleeve done soon. I have not been able to find anywhere, on anyone's website what the waiting time is to get the surgery. I have decided on OCC for surgeon. Can anyone provide any info?

Hi, My suggestion is to call an OCC coordinator and plan your surgery. I guess it really depends on your schedule, the OCC's schedule.
