Wondering if anyone has returned to the Ariel center for a body lift? Curious about pricing.
There has been a lot of patients that have used the Ariel Center for various plastic surgery procedures. Some are very open and may contact you with their experiences. As far as pricing goes, contact Ora at the Ariel Center, her phone number is 866-376-7849 ext 85. I personally had a LBL done in 2008 at another plastic surgery center and had all kinds of complications. When Dr. Medina came on board with the Ariel Center, I had him look at my issues and he was able to repair my LBL. I was amazed that he could "fix me". Being a volunteer moderator here at the Forum, I can say that I haven't heard any complaints about Dr. Medina or the Ariel Center. Everyone raves about the quality of his plastic surgery skills and his professionalism. Plus,, he comes across as a really nice guy.

Being the OCC Forum moderator, I've notice we have a lot of visitors here everyday. The OCC Forum contains a vast wealth of information and patient testimonials. We're here to pass all this WLS experience to all who ask. Hopefully, our members share their experiences with us and we all learn from them. There's really not much difference being a visitor versus an OCC Forum member except, visitors can't post anything or ask questions. So I'm urging all of our visitors to the OCC Forum to think about joining, We'd love to hear your experiences and feel free to ask questions, this is what we're here for, to learn.

This week I'm down here in TJ having Hiatial Hernia repair. Things are going great so far, and I don't expect any different. Everyone at the OCC has been above and beyond in the professialism and hospitality department. I wish to make a comment concerning the OCC's new van driver Omar. The OCC has really picked a winner here. Omar has taken this position to a new level. He's the first person your going to meet when you arrive in San Diego. He's very friendy and professional, the van is very clean and nice looking. Omar is a great asset to the OCC team.
So far my surgery and stay in TJ has been great. I couldn't ask for anything more which the OCC hasn't done already. I hope everyone that comes to the OCC has this kind of experiance and the OCC maintains this level of service to all of its patients.
I have also noticed something different in TJ. It seems that this town has stepped up its image and I've noticed that it's much friendlier and cleaner that the last time I was here. I hope this tread continues.

This is the topic for those who are scheduling their surgery during the year of 2015. Posting in this topic gives you a chance to meet other patients that are going to be in TJ during this year.

Hi Jack, This forum is for patients and future patients that are mostly self-pay and coming to Mexico/OCC for their weight loss surgery. If your looking for advice concerning the Canadian Health care system, you might want to seek out our Canadian patients or another forum.

I guess it depends on which side of the border your staying on. On the San Diego side, SD Zoo, Sea World, The Midway aircraft museum, etc. Food places, Phil's BBQ, In N Out burgers and several places that have been mentioned on the Food Network.
I personally have done the Zoo and the Midway aircraft carrier museum. Both are located in downtown SD. I highly recommend Phil's BBQ for a last meal, it's located near Sea World.
San Diego has a great Mass Transit system, get a day pass and go almost anywhere.
On the TJ side, I don't know much of anything to do. There's Revolution Ave (lots of MX tourist shops with lots of junk), which isn't too far from the OCC, but it's a good walk from the Marriott, Be Safe, I suggest a taxi. There's several Malls, one is just a couple blocks South of the Marriott. You could walk the Ave of the Hero's, which starts real close to the OCC and runs to the hotel Lucerna. Ave of the Heros has several drive arounds with large statues in the middle of them. There's a mall a couple blocks from the OCC. You'd have to talk to the staff at the OCC to get a better handle on what to do in TJ.

What Janinka2003 is referring to is the new Obalon Balloon WLS that the OCC offers.
It's a short term medical device/balloon that's inserted into your stomach. I really don't know much about it or have any first hand experience with it.
Contact your OCC coordinator for further info.

I am trying really hard to eat foods with a lot of protein and I do use my fitness pal. My exercise is lacking...I am Anemic and am constantly feeling exhausted and tired. Are there any good protein wafer bars? I have some of the power crunch bars but they are high in fat
I have that same issue and have had it for years. I'm not anemic, but I find it hard to get in my daily requirements of protein. Trying drinking at least one high protein shake a day. I found unjury.com has a high protein chicken broth that's pretty tasty. I personally have found that most protein shakes taste awful, but there are some good shakes out there. Keep looking for one that you'd like.
In fact, I'm urging forum members to tell us which brands they find tasty and which ones they find awful.

Day of surgery I was 256 (Sept 8th) and today I am 239. I am taking my supplements and focusing on my protein...eating lots of chicken and food high in protein. I just thought I would be father along than what I am.
Patience Grasshopper. lol. You didn't mention if you followed a daily exercise plan. Exercise is a must if you want success.

I see you had knee injuries. Did that stop you from exercising? Did your weight gain happen after your injuries? I know with any WLS, such as lap-band, plication and sleeve, exercise is key to weight loss.

Day 52, I feel great! I think I can say I'm 99% healed from my plastic surgery repair. Complications from my original surgery seemed to have resolved. Time will tell.
-
I just had the revision done a year ago. I was banded back in 2007 and saw many of the old timers having some sort of issue with the band. I thought about it for awhile and said to myself, do I want to being going through all that crap? It was a hard decision, I loved my band, but I opted to go with the sleeve. It's a different feeling when you get "full". No more food stuck, no more fills and so on and so on.

Day 20, I still have a drain tube and reservoir. Still draining around 50cc's to 75cc's a day. I can tell it's slowing down compared to the first couple weeks of draining 100cc's a day. I feel good, but still swollen in the lower groin area, but it's getting better.
