  1. Keep us posted on your journey!

I am choosing VSG because for me, I didn't like part of my stomach being folded in. That just sounded a little too much outside the norm of how my stomach should be formed. This is just my opinion and isn't based on any research just sorta a gut feeling for me. I want to say I have seen research that VSG patients are more successful and come closer to loosing all the weight they want to loose. The VSG is also an older procedure so there is more history of successes, complications etc. In regards to financing, I went through my local bank for a loan. The interest rate was much lower and I didn't have to pay the extra fee. Hope that helps!

  2. My wife and I were just there I've stayed at 4 hotels during the years, the Marriott is a good hotel. Across the street and south a few blocks is a Calimex grocery store. A Walmart across the street from Calimex. Be extra careful crossing the street, traffic is terrible. They'll shuttle you to the OCC. I think you get free chicken broth at the restaurant. The rooms are clean and comfy.

Cons: The hotel bar doesn't make a very good margarita.

  3. I have taken only taken Celebrate supplements (multi, iron, and calcium chews) and ordered Puritan's Pride B complex liquid) I just had my labs done late as My Dr is popular 10 months after surgery and all my labs came back great except my D levels and so I am on a crazy dose of D. 5,000IU for 2 months then a recheck.

This is the new fad with the labs, everyone has low levels of D,, Don't ask me why. LOL

  4. I am heading to the OCC in Feb to get my first PRP treatment. Anyone having/had this done yet?

My wife and I met a lady at the Marriott. She had it done, but I couldn't tell you anything about it. She was there to escort her daughter who was having sleeve surgery at the OCC.

  5. Things have changed at the border and they're not done with the construction. You still take the #992 bus at the airport to the tolley station, then take the Blue line trolley to the border. This is where it has all changed. The old way doesn't exist anymore. When you get off the tolley, follow the flow of people. You now go around the back side of the US customs building. Come out and go across one foot bridge and your at the Taxi stand.

  6. No they do not. I brought some and shared mine.. I have seen them at Walgreens

I haven't yet to find proof that Gas X strips really do anything, I think it's mostly psychological. The gas they use is pumped into your body cavity to expand that area, which gives the surgeon more room to maneuver. Gas X strips are taken orally and digested,. I'm not understanding how something that's inside of your stomach can absorb something outside of the stomach? Most patients have reported pain in their joints after their surgery and have found heavy exercise help relieve that pain and dissapate the gas. Please let me know what works for you.

  7. How long were you there?

Because where I live I flew in Sunday evening, surgery Monday morning one night stay at the clinic, and I flew home Thursday afternoon.

Does he use a drain? yes they use a drain. You have it in till the am you go home.

    Did you need a passort?

Yes anytime you travel to Mexico and Canada a passport is required it is the law. I didn't want to risk it. Other might.

check out the rules for your self. http://www.dhs.gov/crossing-us-borders

    Land/Sea Travel

    Beginning June 1, 2009

    • U.S. citizens entering the United States at sea or land ports of entry are required to have documents that comply with the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI), most commonly a U.S. passport, a passport card, a trusted traveler card such as NEXUS, SENTRI or FAST, or an enhanced driver's license. See the complete list of WHTI-compliant documents.

If self pay when was your final payment due? they require you to email a copy of the cashiers check and bring it with you to your surgery date. I also had to pay a deposit. To hold my surgery date.

    Good info,, Thanks Bella
