  1. OMG I was about to ask this same question!!! I noticed that my port was lower than the incision when I had my first fill. When I was sitting down last night, I noticed it was futher up and more to the right of the incision. Whew, glad to know it's normal! Thanks for asking, Trina!
  2. That is so inspiring! I definitely want to take up jogging soon, but I've always put it off because it was uncomfortable for my large chest. I always used that as an excuse! Well, not anymore. I found a website that makes sports bras for large chests and it should be arriving soon! I'm no where near entering any races, but maybe next year! Good luck with yours! If anyone is interested in that site, click HERE
  3. Thank you, Mona! I'm actually just about to be 23. And thank you for commenting on the blog! I will definitely comment back. Anyone can leave me comments...I welcome them!
  4. That is very sweet, Darlene - thank you! We're ALL brave here. We've all made the big decision to change our lives and that takes courage!
  5. My favorite exercise right now is swimming! If you don't have a pool, I'm sure there is a community center or gym near you that might have one. I live in Florida, so I know ALL about heat and humidity. Let me tell you, there is nothing better than going home after a long day at work and diving into the pool. I try and do about 30 laps (although it depends on how many people are at the pool in my neighborhood) and then I go to a wall and do leg exercises. I hope this helps! Plus, my tan has never looked better!
  6. Writing parts of those blogs did make me cry. I've spent so long hiding from my obesity, that it feels good (and a little scary) to actually write it down. I just said to myself, "You've gotta say it. If you don't, you'll never change". Maybe you can keep a private journal that only you read to start with so you can feel comfortable with saying those things. I know it's hard. But it's a relief to get those things off your chest, it really is. Just remember, we've all been there.
  7. I will definitely be adding your blog to the group I read on a daily basis! I'm not a writer, I just like to write. Yay for blogs!
  8. I have plenty of time at work to write. I coordinate website design and I'm only busy when I have appointments scheduled for the day. I only had one appointment this morning, so I'm blogging away!! Plus I don't have kids or anything like that.
  9. Funny girl! Believe me, yours will be way up there in no time!
  10. I knwo we all have a lot of similar experiences and it's nice to be reminded of that...that we're NOT alone in this. And we are sisters, Trina! Band sisters
  11. SO glad you're feeling better! I'm also really jealous of your weight loss banner. I signed up for one of my own and it kept saying I lose 0 lbs after I put in my stats! So frustrating - I settled for a different one.
  12. Thanks, Erin! I love to write, so it's a good outlet for me! Your posts are always great, too!
  13. In addition to my everyday stop at this forum for questions, answers, support, love, etc I've decided to create a weight loss blog. It's not going to be so much a keeping of my progress, but of topics that pertain to weight loss, weight loss surgery, the ups and downs, and my success and failures. What good is a blog if no one but me reads it? You're all welcome to view my blog at: http://thewordbuffet.blogspot.com/ It's an all you can eat word buffet! Ha, did you like that play on words? Since none of us are actually going to REAL buffets, a literary one might do us some good. I hope you enjoy it!
  14. Oh man, Kim! I hope your car was just towed, too! Great job on the steps already today! I'm at 5,014 so far. Can we make this a pinned topic? How do we do that?
  15. Thank you for sharing, Michelle. I've been struggling a little with finding a meal plan that works for me, so that gives me a lot of great ideas to try. Your posts are always appreciated.
  16. That's not odd at all! That's great! I had a similar experience today with the pair of open toed, low heels I wore to work. My feat usually look like stuffed sausages in them, but today they fit easily and I didn't have painful welts at the end of the day. Here's to skinnier feet!
  17. Yes..I get those every once in a while. They always surprise me, I never know what brings them on.
  18. Not as smokin as you and Michelle! You ladies REALLY motivate me with your HUGE weight loss.
  19. YAY! Pretty soon, you'll be wondering how you ever fit in those 22's.
  20. Grrr, I USED to have stats, but something happened and they went away. I'm working on getting them back. My highest weight EVER was 248. I was at 240 when I scheduled my surgery. I was 233 at surgery. I'm now at 222. My goal is 130.
  21. You ladies are so great. Thank you! I got my tan by swimming my butt off these last few weeks. It's my favorite exercise right now, with the hot Florida weather. That and a weekend in Ft. Lauderdale.
  22. I found a picture of myself from my birthday last year and couldn't believe how WIDE I looked. I decided to put it against a photo from my surgery date and then took a photo yesterday. Not as much progress as I'd like, but a good start! *Excuse my hair in the last photo - was swimming all day and had it up in a ponytail - yucky.
  23. I know there was a whole topic on this, but I can't find it. How do you post pictures in here? I see the Add Image button, but it asks for a URL and I don't know how to assign one to my image.
  24. It's 10:40 EST and I just reached 3800 - whew. Today has been a LONG morning, so that's probably less than I could have gotten if I wasn't dragging myself around. These are the kinds of days I wish I drank coffee.
