  1. My Dr. was supportive as well. She is a bloodwork junkie and is dying for me to come in and have my cholesterol and other levels checked. She wants to see how much they dropped. You won't regret this decision! If something happened to my lap band I would panic and be on the next flight to San Diego to have another one put in. LOL
  2. Yes, you Julie!! Is there another Julie? I am glad to hear you are doing good!
  3. Boy did I waste $1500 or what? That's how much I paid my fill Dr. here in MS. Okay so we got there(New Orleans) at 9 this morning and everyone was so nice! The Dr. talked to me for a few minutes and praised me on my weight loss. He said my whole body looked great except for my tummy, but he also told me that he didn't think I would need a tummy tuck so that made me feel great! He asked me how my restriction was and I explained to him about the small fills I had been receiving. His next question was.."Well what do you want in your band?" I almost passed out! LOL I told him I would like to try 2.5cc and he took all the saline out of my band (which was 1.4) and he added a whole new 2.5cc. I was on cloud 9! He made me sit in the waiting room and drink water. I drank about 3 sips of the water and I felt it bubbling up. I threw up 4 times in the garbage can in the waiting room! My cousin that was with me was dying...She told the receptionist that I was very sick. I couldn't talk...I couldn't breathe. I just kept spitting up spit and saliva. 2.5cc was more than I could handle. She got me right back in the room again and he took .5cc out for a total of 2cc. I went back to the waiting room, drank more water and I was fine so they let me leave. We didn't make it to Bourbon St. It was just too darn hot so we went shopping a little instead so we could be in the air conditioner. Trina~Ellie asked me who referred me there and I told her you did. She remembered you and talked about how pretty you are! Isn't she the sweetest? I just loved her!
  4. That sounds pretty darn good to me! Mine is always very loose at night. I can eat whatever I want to.
  5. Lance (my BFF) and I are on our way to New Orleans tomorrow for fills. We are then gonna spend the day in New Orleans. I LOVE it there! If you have never been..you need to go! It is like stepping into another world. Fun! Fun!
  6. The only place I may need help is my tummy. It is still huge! Maybe it's from having kids? Who knows but I hate it!
  7. Ya'll are so sweet! The legs are baggy (of course) but the waist is still tight so I am sure I have another couple of months until I can wear a 10. Dawn~That was so nice of you! I am sure you are a hottie now! OICU812~I sure hope I am brave enough to post a bikini pic one day! LOL
  8. These are not the best since I took them outside and it's only about 100 degrees here with 100% humidity..my face is red!
  9. I suck at the balance games and I really don't feel like I am burning calories when I do them, so I tend to stay in the aerobics area. It is fun to punch that talking bag too. LOL I hate it when you beat the heck out of it and then it says, "You didn't even break a sweat, now did you?" LOL
  10. Well that's just not right! She must have been confused or something. They very seldom turn you away unless you fail the pre-op tests. I went with 3 buddies to be banded and I lost 15 lbs on my pre-op, my Aunt lost none (lower BMI), my BFF Lance only lost 3 lbs (he weighed 300) and the other girl we went with lost 1 lb and she was the same size as me. We all four had our surgery done and Dr. Miranda praised us all. Don't fret over it..just keep doing what you have been doing and you will be fine. What did you write on your paper you turned in to her as your weight? That is what she will go by when she weighs you in.
  11. I go by experience and the good people I have met here on this forum and I don't think anyone has lost 40 lbs from surgery to their first fill. If I am wrong, someone correct me! 6 weeks from surgery would mean you would have to lose close to 7 lbs a week to lose 40 lbs! Is that even possible? I don't think so. I lost around 20 and I thought that was alot!
  12. So I tried on my Size 12 jeans and WOW!! Who is this tall, almost skinny person I see staring back at me? OMG..it is me!! Now I know alot of people don't consider a size 12 small, but to me it is! I have always wanted to look good in blue jeans, and I'll be dang they look pretty good! If I can just get these last 40 lbs off and tone my stomach my hubby better watch out! LMAO! I will get him to take a pic of me in them this eveing.
  13. You gotta do what you gotta do, right? Thank you..they are soooo bad but sooo sweet at the same time! They wear me out!
  14. I was just thinking about you this morning. How are you doing? Is your fill still pretty tight?
  15. I am a sweet junkie so I would probably have to retire from there! Haha If you can have that kind of willpower then you are my new hero! Go girl!! High 5!
  16. Ditgto to Evette and Julie. I think our bodies are in shock from the surgery, then liquids, then solids. It will level out by the time you get your 1st fill and you will start losing more. Hang in there, girlfriend!!
  17. Someone else said they were a bit stinky too. I guess it's normal when you are burning fat. Maybe fat stinks? LOL
  18. I tried it and it was gag-worthy to me. Ack! To make it taste better, try mixing it with vanilla slim fast. That makes it taste better.
  19. Cathy~ Don't tell him about the restriction. Just get your fill. That's what I do. Hahaha
  20. I am getting darn good at the hula hooping! It amazes me how I can feel my abs burning. My hubby tried it last night (the workout king) and he couldn't keep his hula hoops up! LMAO
  21. The protein will definetly help. I always lose more when I up my protein.
