  1. I also gained weight by the time I got home. It will be gone and then some by next week.
  2. Maybe we could start a sticky to add to one of the Information forums and we could all add our fave links to calorie counting sites and such. Clynn could we do that for future reference?
  3. Thank you Amy! Gosh I am at a turtle crawl now with my weight loss, but I am still losing inches. I can't wait to be "normal" It is gonna feel so good!
  4. I am not sure, but at Health Vitamin stores they have a B-12 tablet called a "dot" that melts under your tongue. My bestfriend uses them and loves them!
  5. Amy~ Don't beat yourself up! This band is in us for as long as we want it to be. Weight loss is a slow process. I had told you before that losing 40 lbs in 6 weeks would put you at losing almost 7 lbs a week and that is just not realistic. The first couple of weeks the weight falls off, but after that it slows tremendously. I am doing good to lose 4-5 lbs a month now and I eat very little and work out daily! You need to count your calories, up your water intake, and stay strong! You are a very strong person and I know you can do this! It just takes time.... I am here for you!
  6. Welcome Lisa! Congrats on making this decision..you will not regret it!
  7. Welcome Tara and congrats to you and your friend! I was banded with my bestfriend and it was his birthday on the day we were banded! I have never once regretted getting the band.
  8. That is great, Cara!! You are not gonna regret your decision!
  9. Vix~ I am so glad you had such a wonderful experience! I loved my trip down there..felt like a vacation instead of surgery! LOL Welcome to Bandland and I am looking forward to seeing your transformation! Be sure to take lots of before pics.
  10. We did just fine! We had sustained winds of about 45-50 mph for about 4 hrs yesterday and it rained like crazy. We lost power for only a short amount of time. There really wasn't much to it at all, thank God!
  11. Thanks everyone. It looks like we are not gonna get a direct hit so we are just gonna stay at home. If it gets bad tonight we will take shelter in my parent's business. We will be on the northeast quadrant of the storm so the only thing I am really worried about is tornadoes. I am hoping and praying we don't lose power because that is the worst part of it to me. I will keep ya'll updated as the night moves forward. Like I said though, I think at least us in South MS are gonna be fine unless it turns, which they are forecasting it won't.
  12. Have you received your pre-op information? Mine was sent through email. It will tell you what you need to know about your diet according to your weight.
  13. My BMI was 38 and she let me choose between the 3 diets they offer. If your BMI is over 40 you have to call her for a consult. If your BMI is 30 or under you usually have no pre-op diet at all.
  14. Finally! The scales have started moving again after those couple of months of ups and downs. I was down to 176 this morning! It really helps to keep me motivated when the scales go the right way. I am a very happy camper today!
  15. Hey girl! Right after my surgery my husband of 9 years decided he didn't love me anymore and outright left. We have a 2yr old and a 3 yr old and I was devastated. (I have never mentioned this on here before now) He stayed gone for a little over a month and come to find out he was seeing a woman he works with. He came back when he decided that wasn't what he wanted afterall and things have been fine since. I still think about it daily and it hurts me very much. Bottom line..a man is not gonna leave his wife and kids unless there is another woman involved. You seem to be handling it better than I did. I am here if you ever need to talk.
  16. Amy~ You are more than likely not gonna be able to tolerate bread. I can eat a piece of dry toast if I am having a good day..but sandwich bread or anything like it will absoluetly kill me. Alot of people say a drink of something will help it either pass or come back up. It usually just starts coming up for me. I can't breathe or talk and my eyes water. Try to not eat bread at all. If you feel you have to, get a chicken sandwich or something similar and at least take the top piece of bread off. That works for me sometimes.
  17. Hello! I am glad you decided to post! Congratulations on getting your surgery date. With the PBing, you will learn quickly what you can and cannot eat. If you are out with friends, be sure to chew extra carefully before you swallow and don't drink with your food. That will most of the time prevent a PB episode. Good luck!
  18. I am the same way! Us neighborhood girls get together every night and do "The Biggest Loser" Workout DVD. That thing will kick your butt! It has different levels like cardio, strength training, and then boot camp! LOL
  19. We stayed at the Holiday Inn right by the airport. A shuttle bus picked us up and took us to the airport.
  20. My cell phone would not work at all. A mexican voice would come on saying some crazy stuff when I tried to call out. My friend had a different service and hers worked sometimes. Hopefully yours will work. Oh and don't call the States from the Lucerna. It was outrageous and they come to your room and get your money for the call as soon as you hang up! LOL You have also got to relax. Please try to quit stressing so much. You are gonna be fine and so is your son! Big hugs!
  21. You need a fill honey! Tonight I made corndogs (in a hurry) and I was able to eat about half of one small corndog. That's how I want my restriction to be or I would feel I wasted money on my surgery. I have waited 5 months to get to good restriction though. It is worth it!
