  1. Trina~ Do you have a Sam's card? If not let me know and one day I will come over and take you with me. I buy alot of my seafood there since it is fresh and wrapped individually. I buy Salmon and Flounder fillets and they are soooo good on the George Foreman grill. They have a huge bag of each for only $12. I also buy their frozen shrimp which are pre-breaded and they are to die for. They are the huge butterflied kind. You can eat 5 of them for 150 cals and 20 grams of protein. Yummy!
  2. How scary that must have been! Get you some rest..I hope that doesn't happen again.
  3. I mentioned this in another post but it really has me fired up today! It didn't have a scratch on it and it won't play. Nintendo is sending me another one, but I already had all the good exercises unlocked and now I have to start all over. I also really miss my daily workout with my little Mii. I am really sad and hope my new one comes in soon.
  4. Oh how sweet of him! It sounds like he is gonna be really helpful and supportive to you. Too funny about growing boobs! LOL
  5. LMAO! You know I am the Queen of PBing, but for some reason if I chew it up really good it really goes down well! It is one of my fave high protein snacks.
  6. I have had many fills where I never felt any different. Do you know how many cc's you got each time? What size band do you have? If you have a 4cc band it seems like anything under 2cc does not do much for anybody.
  7. You cannot feel the lap band inside of you. When we speak of restriction, it is a knot that builds up and tells us when we are full. Hope this helps some!
  8. Special K protein meal bars albacore white tuna terriyaki beef jerkey (high in protein for snacks at work) canned chicken breast 100 cal packs for snacking 100 cal fudgesicles for your choco cravings fat free milk
  9. Barb~ I posted an updated thread around here somewhere. LOL I can definetly tell I have more restriction. It only takes a few bites to do me in. I am hoping with this new fill and my exercise routine that I will get these last 40 lbs off before Christmas!
  10. Tee~ Congrats on getting a good fill! I hope it works wonders for you. Keep us posted! >
  11. I think we can all relate to your story! I have found that no matter what my fill restriction is, the band only works for me when I sit down and eat a healthy meal. I can still eat chips and cookies until the cows come home. LOL However, if I eat a real meal I only have to eat a few bites and I am full. I guess the junk foods go straight through the band. I am a carbaholic and I admit it. I also get snacky at night so I will usually have an Oats n Honey Granola Bar or a cup of popcorn. Both may have lots of carbs, but at least I am not eating cookies and ice cream, know what I'm saying? It's all about food choices at this point. We have to learn how to eat low fat snacks and healthy meals. It took me awhile to adjust to this new way of eating, but I rarely crave junk food anymore unless I am PMSing and when I am I have been known to splurge a little on chocolate. Also, if you haven't started exercising yet you should try it. Not only does it make me feel wonderful, but it also allows for me to have a snack when I want it without feeling guilty about it.
  12. lock~ Have you lost all your weight (62 lbs) just since being banded in April? If so then that is amazing!!
  13. You are gonna be fine when you get a good fill. I hope you go somewhere that will fill your band right. I just now got a good fill and I have been banded since March. It makes all the difference in the world. Just stay strong and soon enough those lbs will start flying off!
  14. I was just going to compliment you on your new avatar pic. The cut and color looks amazing on you! You are smokin' hot! =D> Getting all dressed up in my new sizes makes me feel sexy! I am amazed at the confidence I have now when I am in public. I used to feel invisible and now all of a sudden men are checking me out again.
  15. It is supposed to hit us here tonight and tomorrow. We are supposed to just get lots of rain. I am glad you are safe. At least you can get online!
  16. Just remember that the pain is very minimal. I hurt a little the first day just around my port site. I couldn't lay on my sides or my stomach. The worst pain for me was the trapped gas on the plane ride home. It is miserable when you are confined to those tiny seats and you are having those intense gas pains. You are gonna be just fine. I am pretty sure they give you Tramadol at the OCC. It didn't touch me at all. It's a good thing I didn't really need any pain meds.
  17. Okay so far this is what I have been able to eat. Yesterday at lunch we went to O'Charleys and I managed to get down about 1/2 of a green salad and a cup of potato soup. We had some friends over last night and I cooked hamburgers on the George Foreman grill. I ate about 4 bites of a patty and I started feeling sick. My restriction in the mornings has always been pretty good so this morning I made a protein shake and I couldn't get much of it down. I ate a few bites of a hamburger patty for lunch and I was full. I guess this is what I have been waiting for. It really works when you have enough saline in your band. My only concern now is that I won't get enough protein in during the day. Oh and another thing..after all that searching for my Wii Fit the darn thing won't play! I had already unlocked all the good exercises and the disc doesn't have a scratch one on it. I am pissed! I called Nintendo last night and they are sending me a new one, but I am very disappointed that I have to start all over.
  18. I am glad to hear you finished the move. I hate moving! Yeah you probably do need another fill if you are eating more. I don't know though, you still seem to be losing pretty quickly! I finally got a good fill in New Orleans Friday. I have 2cc now and boy I can tell it!
  19. Thanks so much! I can't wait to see if this fill helps me. Julie~I haven't eaten yet, but I will let you know! We have that Tropical Storm Fay coming in on us all weekend so we will be in the house. I am gonna cook something good and healthy tonight so I will let you know how the 2cc feels.
  20. What you are feeling is normal. We all depended on food so much and always ate way too much of it. The pre-op diet is very tough. I went through periods of panic where I just wanted to stuff food in my mouth because I knew I would never be able to eat much again. From experience, I can tell you that the post-op diet taught me that we don't need much food to survive. I didn't think there was any way to go 21 days without eating solid food, but I did it, and I survived it! I now really don't even miss all the food I used to eat and even look back with disgust at my old eating habits. I am surprised I wasnt bigger than what I was! I am pretty sure you can have anything like the meals you mentioned as long as they are the healthy ones. I didn't like the pre-mixed shakes during pre-op and I needed more so I used the slim fast powder that you mix and I would mix it with a good size glass of skim milk. It kept me full longer.
  21. Hooray for you! I am so glad you have some restriction!
  22. I finally have 2cc in my band so I will let you know if it makes any difference.
  23. Breakfast: Slim Fast powder mixed with 1% Milk (I add a half scoop of choco isopure to it also) Lunch: Usually I fix a small can of tuna salad and put it on one piece of toasted bread. ( I can't get it all down, but I try to eat most of the tuna first for my protein) Snack: Atkins Protein Bar or Special K Protein Bar Dinner: I usually eat what I cook, which usually consists of a meat, a veggie, and a carb. I usually do not eat the carb (rice, noodles, potatoes) My fave is pork chops or chicken or salmon on the George Foreman grill and usually green beans or a small salad) I do not drink any calories. Water or Unsweet tea for me. I do have one cup of coffee a day with creamer and sweetener. If I get hungry at night I will eat a 100 cal fudgesicle or a 100 cal bag of popcorn.
  24. No fluoro. It was a blind fill and it was only $185! Oh another thing he told me is that I have a large frame and he wouldn't think I would look good at under 150. I still want to reach my goal of 140 though.
