  1. congrats to you and hubby on your first fill! I agree the first time we always like to see it under Fluro... after that it's like.. OH.. that's it?!?! OK.. well now I can go locally. Here's to some restriction but remember if it doesn't happen now it WILL happen. See you tomorrow.
  2. So two great things happened today. 1. my best friend lives across the street from me, her kids are like my kids since I don't have any. They always refer to me as their "2nd mom"... Alanah, who's 8, ran up to me and wrapped her arms around my waist to give me a big hug.. well she was able to reach all the way around me and clasp her hands together! She was SHOCKED! LOL She pulled back patted my stomach and yelled "MIMI YOU GOT SKINNY" (mimi is my nickname) she then wrapped her arms around me again and squeezed me so hard I though i was gonna puke but it was a fabulous feeling! 2. My boyfriend and I were standing outside, I was on the front step and he was on the ground. He told me to get on his back and he would piggy back me to my car... uh.. I was like are you kidding me?!! You will throw your back out! He said girl please just jump on.. I was like OK, you asked for it! I have always been a fat girl... always.. no one, man, has EVER been able to pick me up and carry me anywhere.. EVER. I jumped on his back and he ran me around the front yard for a good 5 minutes before taking me to my car. These are little things but to me they were HUGE! Hugs to everyone. >
  3. wow, nice post Trave, Wanna date?? :wink2:
  4. I don't think it has anything to do with weight. I weighed 276 at the time of surgery and received the 4cc band. He definitely does NOT put in the bigger band in the hopes of getting more money from fills
  5. Ha! Good work my friend! Thanks for the chuckle this morning Keep up the good work! Enjoy buying some smaller pants/belts.
  6. Mike Thank you so much for posting! It's great to hear from someone who's had their band for a year. I agree with you 100% about taking a long time to "figure out the band" after 6 months I felt like I finally "got it" and now it's 7 months and everyday I have more "ah hah" moments! You are doing great! Thank's again! xoxoxox
  7. Hahahaha! My list would have you traveling the world!! let's see... 1. Texas 2. Morocco 3. Paris 4. Turkey I love foreign guys.
  8. Amy How are you doing today? Please know we are all here for you and I am sending good thoughts your way. Hugs to you!
  9. um... hellooooo :-h can I give you my EX's address and can you pay him a visit to please!!
  10. It's absolutely NORMAL not to have restriction or have it not last very long for your first heck even your 2nd fill. I went back to occ for my first fill and had 1.6 or 1.8 put in... I went locally 5 weeks later and was filled up to 2.5cc.. BUT it wasn't until my 3rd fill and my current 2.9cc's that I really felt restriction and started dropping weight. Don't have a number in your head that you think will work for you.. honestly it WILL happen!! I promise! You are diong GREAT!! I can't wait to see you Saturday. xox
  11. Happy Birthday my fellow Scorpios Ramona and Tanya! yah!! My big 40 was oct 26th. Happy Birthday to all of us and here's looking forward to next year we will be be skinny minni's. (or a least OUR version of it) > > >
  12. Jacklyn What a beautiful post! Thank you so much for sharing your story. EVERYTHING you said is 100% true!! Every one is different! No 2 peple are the same and it's important that you don't compare your accomplishments/weight loss to anyone else. Thank you! xoxoxo You are doing great! Please keep us posted.
  13. Hey Cara I can take you back to the train station downtown (portland, right not vancouver) Mindy
  14. I will keep you in positive thoughts and good vibes to the universe.
  15. 44lbs in 4 months is HUGE! I didn't start losing weight until after my 3rd fill. From the time I was banded 3/24 to my 3rd fill in August I only lost like 25lbs Now I'm 7 months banded and down 70 lbs which averages out to 10lbs a month.. which is FANTASTIC. I am 5'8" and today weigh 205lbs.. I wear a size 16 .. while I understand your depression and still feeling obese I can tell you without even seeing a picture of you there is NO WAY you look obese!! Girl.. you are 5'10" tall and weigh 188lbs.. do not let other peoples ideas of what is "skinny" influence you! How do you feel? You must've gone down several sizes by now? I'm glad you posted. We are all here for you!! You are doing GREAT! As far as not feeling restriction everyone is different. If you are able to eat more than 1/2 cup - 1 cup at a sitting then you need a fill. Do not worry whether or not this fill will be "the one" it's part of the upkeep of having lapband, you just have to do it. Good luck and please keep us posted.
  16. KIM you look HOT!!! Great job!! You've come so far in such a short time! Thanks for keeping us updated, the pictures really help keep me motivated. =D>

  22. Good morning! I live in Portland, OR and have used Dr. Kelly Fitzpatrick 2x for blind fills. blind vs: fluroscopy is a subject that is brought up often here on the forum. You will get responses on the pro's and cons for both. Most important, for me, is that I have someone local that I can use and return to in case the fill I get is to much and I need an unfill OR if for some reason I just need to talk to someone who is near to my home. I love Dr. Kelly! She has given me 2 fills and 1 slight unfill, each time she has hit the port on the first try and I've never had any pain. After surgery I felt I needed to return to Dr. Ortiz for my first fill because i watned to make sure everything was "fine" and that I didn't stretch my pouch etc... I felt I really needed fluro my first time but, for me, I've been 100% satisfied with a blind fill since. It's been said, and I agree, that it's good to get fluro once a year just to check and make sure everything is "ok". I hope this helps. There are a lot of P=towners on this forum so you will get some good feedback. Congrats on getting banded and welcome to the forum. WE are all always here for you.
  23. > Keep up the great work! you look fabulous!
  24. I love salads but they just don't work for me now (7 months banded) neither does broccoli.. good lord that stuff makes me vomit violently. zucchini, carrots, peas (small amounts) seem to be the best veggies for me.
