  1. I posted all our sessions ladies.... Keep up the good work!!! :lb21: :lb21: :lb21: I haven't been to the gym since the 5th. I hurt myself so bad that day, I could barely move over the last 3 days. Well, the month is still young, I just have to work extra hard from now on!!
  2. I seem to remember Dr. Romero telling me that it takes about 200 years to disintegrate, and that it would last my lifetime if there were no complications. Wow, if it really was 15 years. I would need to have it replaced at least 2 times or removed before I die??
  3. June 5th - 45 minutes Elliptical & 30 minutes circuit training (legs). OMG, I am in so much pain today!! ( I worked out my legs last night and hurt the muscles above my butt. ouch....OUCH...OUCH!!!!
  4. Of course you can play!!! WOOOOOO HOOOOO, we got more participation! I will add you to the list. I figured that I would update our tally once a week on Sunday. Keep up the good work!!! :cheerleader: :cheerleader: :cheerleader:
  5. June 4th - 45 Minutes Elliptical & 30 minutes circuit training.
  6. My fill is at 11:30. Let's meet up in San Diego and cross the border together.
  7. As a matter of fact, I asked for him as well when I scheduled my fill yesterday. Claudia said he wasn't in that day, but did not elaborate. I was going to call back and reschedule to a day he was doing the fills. Hmmm.... a long vacation, huh?? :-? :-? :-? Guess I will be returning for fill #3, 4 weeks after #2.
  8. Go CrazyCool, Go!! You are doing wonderful..... :lb21: :lb21: :cheerleader: :cheerleader: Feel those butt muscles getting firmer???? hehe... soon you will be famous doing Victoria Secret underwear ads..... just remember who cheered you on, the little people at the lap band forum....
  9. Ok, the funny thing is I am not even losing that many inches, so it won't help to list those stats either --go figure!! I do eat 3 times a day, and get about 900 calories a day. I drink lots of water (gave up Diet Coke along with cigs), and eat in the order prescribed. When I had the personal trainer in 2004, I was on a more regimented program, and actually gained body fat?? I know you guys are thinking that this could not be possible, that I must be some closet eater or a sleepwalking eater, but I am not...if anything I would be a closet smoker.....hehe...I really crave cigs more than food. Sooooo, today I took action--made a fill appointment for June 20th, and went back to circuit training in addition to my cardio. I am going to try to push forward, because this can't continue forever, right? Thanks again for all your kind words and comments.... .. > > > I get such a warm fuzzy feeling.... <<big hug>>. I don't know what I would do without you guys.
  10. Ok, I added you guys to the list.... I am so happy you decided to join in. :lb21: :lb25: :lb21: :lb25: :cheerleader: There seems to be a lot less participation this time around??? :-? Hopefully we will get more takers!! We can do this!!! Good Luck Ladies!! I want to do the first posting - June 2nd - 60 minutes Elliptical June 2nd - 60 minute run/walk June 3rd - 60 minutes Elliptical & 20 minute circuit training.
  11. Thank you ladies for all your encouragement. > :lb13: > :lb13: > It is just what I needed. I will take all your advice and first of all not smoke...hehe (Cheryl, you must have ESP), ditch my scale (after all that is what set me off), and try and concentrate on how my body feels. You know, I never thought about seeing a nutritionist, thanks calicat, that is a great idea. In 2004 (30 pounds ago), I worked out with a personal trainer for 6 months and lost a total of 8 pounds. I guess it should have not come as a suprise to me that this would not come easy as well......but it kills me that I spent all this money on the band, and I have yet to see a return on my investment. Who was it that said patience is a virtue??? I know it will come, but darn it, I wish it was coming as quick as it has for you guys!! Even my husband (the exercise Nazi), has lost 29 pounds since "I" got banded.
  12. Today is not a good day for me.... The reality of the fact that I am not only not losing weight, but gaining has finally set in. I am on the verge of just giving up. :lb20: I exercise literally everyday, sometimes twice a day, I really push it!! I sometimes burn up to 1000 calories or more at a time at the gym then run for an hour at night. I watch what I eat, my portions, protein, calories, fat content, and carbs but to no avail. I had a fill on May 24th, feel no restriction, as a matter of fact; I haven't had restriction since about 4 days after surgery. I knew that it wasn't a large enough fill, 1.5 cc's. Now I must wait 4 weeks for another fill. It seems like a relatively simple equation: burn more calories than you take in = weight loss. Why isn't this working for me? I feel defeated...I have tried to stay strong, but right now I am feeling like a failure. I don't know how much longer I can keep this up with no results!! Help, I need encouragement!! Tell me someday that this will all pay off.
  13. Great Blazn!!! You have done amazing so far!! Welcome. I will challenge myself to the Diamond Level this month. I am not losing any weight, so I must try harder!!
  14. Ok, ladies (and gentleman) it is now the start of a new month and a new exercise challenge. I know that the May challenge made me accountable and gave me the motivation I needed to hit the gym, so, in Michelle's absence I would like to continue it here!! Here is Michelle's introductory post from May's challenge: "Ok Bandsters we all know that exercise is key to reach the weight loss goals we have set for ourselves! Spring is here and summer is around the corner which means the shorts and sleeveless shirts will be coming out soon as well, so what better time to climb on board!?!? I've seen challenges like this on other boards and I think it is a great way to motivate ourselves and each other, this challenge isn't about weight loss (of course that will be an added bonus) and it is NOT a competition with winners and losers. Basically it's a way to stay accountable to the exercise you commit to do during the month of May. It doesn't matter if you're running 3 miles a day 5 times a week or just going on a 30 min walk with your dog one day a week, there's a level for everyone! So come join in for support and encouragement. It's easy, just check in and post your progress. Whether you check in daily to list each workout or sum everything up once a week, it helps with accountability. Everyone is welcome!" The rules are the same, except I added the Diamond Level for 28+ Sessions, for those of us that are crazy exercise junkies: STEP 1. Choose Your Personal Goal Color depending on the number of workout you think you'll be able to achieve in JUNE: Purple Level- 4-7 sessions of under 30 minutes - giving your all and working as hard as you can for as long as you can Green Level- 5-7 sessions of at least 30 minutes Bronze Level- 8-14 sessions of at least 30 minutes Silver Level- 15-18 sessions of at least 30 minutes Gold Level- 19-23 session of at least 30 minutes Platinum Level- 24-27 sessions of at least 30 minutes Diamond Level - 28+ sessions at least 30 Minutes STEP 2. Post your Goal Color here in this forum You can even list some of the workouts you plan to do this month!! STEP 3. Come back to this post each time you complete a workout or check in once a week saying how many workouts you've completed for the prior week ___________________________________________________________________________ Member list and tally: Bronze Level- 8-14 sessions deparis x 1 Paula Bee x 3 Soccermom x 4 Silver Level- 15-18 sessions Blazn x 2 Nebsmom Gold Level- 19-23 session Caroline crazycoolbutterfly x 15 Mom12 x 5 Platinum Level- 24-27 sessions oxxevettexxo x 7 Diamond Level - 28+ sessions Lynzz x 19 MamaMichelle x 15
  15. I quit smoking after 15 years (if I can do it, I know you can).... I figured that my surgery was more important to me. I asked my doctor for Chantrix, but he did not feel it was necessary, so I did it cold turkey. I am not saying that it is easy, but after the first 3 days, it does get "easier", then easier after the next couple of days and so on. I have now been smoke free for 62 days and I cannot believe that I ever smoked for that long!!! Now is as good a time as any to quit, what better reason?? This step will be a monumental in the new and improved, healthy you!!! So like Nikey says.... "Just do it!" You will be so happy that you did. I, as well as many others here in the forum, will be rooting you on!!! :cheerleader: :cheerleader: :cheerleader: :cheerleader:
  16. May 31st - Last session of the month - 3 hour hike in Trabuco canyon. Very pretty there. Also, I read in another post that Michelle was house hunting??... and something about her laptop being on the blink. Hope she hasn't forgotten about us.....
  17. Mom12, Well.... <<trying to be optimistic>> I am still waiting and hoping for my fill to "settle".... honestly as of right now, I feel no change/ no restriction. I can eat as much as I did before the fill. I do have trouble with bread at times, but breeze through everything else. I am trying to be patient but honestly feeling a bit frustrated---- Diva, Mom12 is right, it is $5 for the taxi ride to OCC. It is funny because I was reading a post the night before I left that said they paid $8??? Anyway, we parked at the Border Station Parking for $8, but there seems to be closer lots for the same price. It just depends if you want to be closer going in or leaving. I personally feel a little uneasy with the thought of driving in TJ, so I am glad walking over worked out-- I felt safe, and would have no problem doing this by myself next time. Post fill, ....what fill? I think I will call tomorrow and schedule fill #2, I hope this one will be the charm!!
  18. Yes! I would love to have a June exercise challenge. It really set a goal for me in May. I also propose that we add a "Diamond" level to our challenge, for let say over 28 Sessions??? Michelle, I would be also willing to be the "record keeper" for sessions for if you would like me to.....
  19. May 29th - 60 minutes elliptical.
  20. We walked across last Saturday. I thought it would be terrible because it was Labor Day Weekend, but it went pretty quick. We parked, crossed, took a taxi to OCC, got my fill and were back at the car within a hour and a half. We definately got across quicker by foot then those in the cars.
  21. May 28th - 1 hour run/walk
  22. May 27th - Elliptical 60 Minutes. Today is my 24th session...YEAH! I made my Platinum challenge!!!! :lb21: :cheerleader: :lb25: :lb21: :cheerleader: :lb25: :lb21: :cheerleader: :lb25:
  23. Happy, Happy Birthday!!! :lb21:
  24. Hi Claire, I was stuck at 179 for five weeks, five long weeks.... I really watch what I eat-- I tried to eat less calories, I ate more calories, more protein, but nothing helped until I "upped" my cardio last week. I finally started losing again. Maybe exercise will do the trick for you, and kick start your weight loss?? :lb25: .... then again I am an exercise junkie...maybe I am a little biased.... Just hang in there, stick with the program and I am positive that the weight will come off. Just think, it will be that much sweeter when you hit your goal weight!!!! Don't give up, keep coming here for support. We are all here for you. Lynn
  25. May 26th - 3 1/2 hour (6 mile) hike. Tough one for me....almost puked at the beginning..... I hit 176 today!! Wooooo!!!! Hoooooo!!! The change in my exercise really helped me get over that plateau. :lb21: :lb21: :lb25: :lb25: :lb25: :lb21: :lb21:
