  1. lets make it a weekly thing, maybe every monday or so...and it will continue until midnight? like tonight i just got off and was glad to see alot of my fellow April 10 family there...talk soon again
  2. Thu May 15- 30 minute circuit training with added reps and 20 minutes of SWIMMING woohooo , i love it i actually felt so much better after the swim, i have missed it so much.
  3. LMAO Paula you are soooo funny. well if it bit you in the BLEEP, thats one pound less you dont have to worry about! Nutritional info is awesome at times, but at the same time it is scary because usually your favorite items have the most cals or fats...like they say if it tastes TOO good to be true, it probably is bad for you
  4. You are doing fantastic! I also was banded April 10th, and will be in TJ for the week of June 12-20. We are spending our family vacation in TJ and CA so we can get the most out of the trip. I haven't book the flights yet, but it should be for arrival about 1pm or so. I'll keep you posted.
  5. :lb9: Glad to hear you are doing well! It gets easier
  6. YOU ARE HILLARIOUS Didn't walk or elliptical today, but will tomorrow, glad to see everyone doing so well.
  7. Passports if you got them for all of you , otherwise, birthcertificates will be fine. Just make sure you have yours too, and your drivers license. You guys will have a nice time.
  8. I do believe it is about 3-4 weeks post op for baths and swimming. Jena, :lb23: with that steak dinner because tough red meat for your first meals, try fish or something soft because the band tends to DISLIKE tough meat. As for swimming, I'm a month post op and still kinda leary (and thats because I LOVE to swim), I guess I just want to take things slow.
  9. How did you make the transfer? I directly transfered from my Wells Fargo account into theirs and they saw it the next day. But I would assume within 2 business days at the most, if you used Paypal or another banking institution. You can check with your instituion for received status. :lb23:
  10. It really isnt long. 3 days! That incredible, actually you could probably do it in 2, fly in do preops and surgery same day, spend the night for evaluation and then and fly out aftwerwards. I met someone who did that while I was there. They were scheduled for the next day, but was able to get in the same day he flew in after pre-ops. And the OCC is great, TJ is fun and interesting. :lb11:
  11. The best to you, I'm sure it will work out fine. They are great out there at OCC
  12. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!! I know I'm a few days late, but Friday I was traveling and didn't bring my laptop. It's been a month since banding and I am doing so well. I haven't lost any additional weight for about two weeks now, but I feel ALOT lighter. I think it's because I'm walking almost everyday and keeping up with my exercises! This weekend was I had an awakening to my new "ME". I went "home" to visit my mom and usually when I go home I like to eat at our favorite restaurants. This was different. I didnt crave any of the old places, I didnt even mention them. I did try eating new foods (old to me, but new to the band) this weekend and realized that I really didnt miss the foods I used to love. I mean I used to look forward to going home and eating out at places that I havent eaten in a few months. The worst food I ate was a chili cheese hot dog from Wienerschnitzel which turns out is 340 calories (14 g protein, fat 150, sodium 1260), so it really was too bad, considering I could have eaten worse. So I was kind of kicking myself for it, but then found out the calories and I really didnt do to bad. Ive learned that check out the nutritional info even when you think you are eating unhealthy, because it may not be as bad as you may think it is. I mean, I wouldnt eat a chili cheese hotdog everyday, but you know once in awhile wont hurt either! I did get compliments on my weight loss, which felt great, but at the same time surreal because its been awhile Ive gotten compliments. I hope everyone had a wonderful Mothers day and everyone is doing well. A month has flown by, 20 pounds have been lost, and my surgery incisions look like red scratch marks that you cant even feel. The port aching has ceased and the gas has disappeared. I cant wait to bend over and tie my tennis shoes properly, you know without having to tie them while leaning to the right or left!
  13. Congrats on your life altering decision! It will be amazing. First of all, you should pack lightly. Maybe two outfits, very comfortable, nothing like jeans or button up stuff. Second, gas x thin strips. Third, comfy walking shoes. That's pretty much it. I mean they take care of you if you forget something, but I wouldn't worry too much about post-op items. Of course if you are having your surgery in TJ you would need your driver's license and birth certificate for everyone entering Mexico, or a passport if you have one already. :lb11: and happy traveling!
  14. It's hillarious that most of us saw changes in our breasts first! I noticed it right away, I thought "hey weren't they higher and bigger like a month ago?" And the bra size has changed also. The next place I've noticed is my tummy and legs, but not too much. But something is better than nothing!
  15. Tue May 13 -30 min cirucit training, 20 min cycling
  16. > They are AWESOME! Keep us up to date as to why it may have flipped and how they fix it. Thanks
  17. According to the nutritional content, you didn't do too bad. It'll be ok, I think 90% of us had cake over the weekend That's one thing i have realized to learn the nutritional content and it usually isn't as bad as you think. Of course, every recipe varies but I it was just one piece and you don't do it regularly. Carrot cake: cream cheese frosting, rec 1 piece 385 cal 48 carbs 4 protien 74 cholesterol 96 g weight 21 fat 4.1 sat fat Answers.com

  19. 20. I would love to attend, I would prefer San Diego over Vegas because I do believe this is for informations, appreciation, and inspirational purposes therefore we should have access to the Dr's and we could even take our families (if we haven't already) to see the facility or meet the Dr's. There are too many temptations in Vegas from all night buffets to the unthinkable and it's overpriced and overated. I know there are temptations everywhere, but I tend to say" what the heck, it only for the weekend" and so on. California has awesome weather all year long, so that's another plus.
  21. Very interesting story. I must say that viewing the surgery does give you more perspective on myself and my band. I like the fact she is video taping, I have been looking for my camcorder for like two weeks to do the same thing. VIDEO is much better, but I think I lost it or something??? Anyway thanks for the lead to this story and keeping it with it.
