I know I changed my ticker at tickerfactory one other time and I thought it was easy. But for some reason now I can not do it. I am so excited and I have lost a few more pounds and I want my ticker to reflect it. Has anyone else had this problem? I am going to tickerfactory and putting in my pass word. It just will not show here. Just to let you all know I am now at 27 pounds lost. That puts me at 187. It has been a long time since I have been in the 180's. I am chasing Kim to get in the 170's even if it is 179. So 8 more pounds to go and I will have met my next goal. The one after that will to be to weigh less than my husband( he is a skinny minny). But for now I am focused on chasing Kim. KIM- Thanks for giving me that inspiration.

funny lapband story about hubby
momonamission replied to traceyeliza's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
He sounds like a keeper. I have to admit I did not do the vitamins. I was a real bad girl. They just made me feel sick. -
Everyday I think today I will be able to eat. and of couse it is No. Not really, I have found some things that work. Salad works real well, fish, and veggies. I am worried about protien too. I do not think I am getting near enough calories in. I think I am going to start drinking at least 2 shakes a day. I should start losing now. Except I do not FEEL full like you mentioned. I just know I better stop or I will slime.

I live in South Carolina. All I want to know is When will the rain ever leave? Our grass in the yard is sky high and nobody can cut it because the yards are so darn wet. We all have mushrooms growing because of the moisture, although my son loves hitting those with a golf club. I think today is supose to be dry. We will see.

I was scared too. The day I left I was thinking in my head"What the hell am I thinking. Going to Mexico to have surgery". My hubby told me when I got there if anything did not jive just to turn around and go home. He too was afraid for me. I got there and everything was just like the board said. One thing that helped me was the day I checked in I saw those who where checking out. They all came out and said how it was so easy and could not believe how good they felt concidering they just had surgery. That made me feel so much better and put me at ease. The next day when I was checking out I looked at all the nervous faces in the lobby all there faces said" What the hell am I thinkng". I went out there in my best blue moo-moo and said Hi. I told them all just how easy it was and not to worry. Julie here on the forum was one of those girls. Hopefully someone will do that for you and you too can turn around the next day and pass it on. I did take my pain killers because I had them but could have done without them. I would have done the surgery every week to skip the 3 weeks of liquids though. I hated the 3 weeks of liquids, but I did it and made it to tell the story. You will be great.

Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!
momonamission replied to kibble's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
I too know how you feel. I did alot of reserach on the band so I knew the weight would not flly off. I also went to local meetings at two different hospitals. They both said the same thing. You will lose it faster with bypass but lapband does the same thing without alot of the risks, just slower. They only want you to lose 1 to 2 pounds a week. If you only lose 1 pound a week in 52 weeks you will have lost 52 pounds and 2 years would be 104 pounds. That is hugh progess. That is how I have to look at it. I wanted to have a some what normal life and eat a piece of my childs birthday cake if I wanted. With gastric bypass you can not do that because you would have the dumping syndrome. I know it seems slow and sometimes others move faster. Just keep your chin up. Your local hospital might do a support meetings like mine do. It is a great place to go to get motivated. Just do not compare yourself to bypass patients. Try documenting everything you eat. Make sure you are getting in enough calories and not too much. Drink your water(my big problem), and try to increase your activity. Maybe instead of weighing everyday you could try only weighing 1 day a week because you know how we go up and down all the time. I hope this helps. -
Has anyone reach dr. miranda recommended weight
momonamission replied to lock27's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
That may or may not be a realalistic goal. I do not know how tall you are. I would go more by what you look like than a number. I know what she told me seemed a little high, but your shooting for a whole lot lower than that. She told me 165, I am thinking more like 145 but I will not know until I get there. Your body might be saying You are the right weight for you. Or maybe you are just on a platue. What size are you wearing? Do others still think you need to lose weight? Be careful that you just do not see yourself as a fat person when the rest of the world might see you as normal. -
Same thing happened to me. Do not worry. The fills make all the difference in the world. It took to fills for me to see what true restriction is. Give it time.

glad you have power. And food. Most of all ...glad your safe.

It is a sad story we hear over and over again. My step dad was just like your brother. My Mom would leave and go back, she did this all the time for a period for over 10 years. She loved him which I think changed to resentment, later when she did leave and did not go back I think it turned to pity with saddness. When he was young and could have quit he did not. Later in life he had the shakes and was depended on the alcohol just to function. We could not do it for him and we had to seperate ourseves from him. I always had hope that he would beat it. He had a real good heart and just no will power to beat it. He died alone in his small camper trailer for that was all he could afford. He ran everyone away because of his drinking. He did however ask God to come into his heart thank goodness to a preacher that would visit him and talk to him. Terry (that's his name) would curse you out so fast it would make your head spin while he was drinking and when sober he would do the greatest things. My point is .....It has to be his decision. He may choose to keep drinking or when he sees himself alone and rock bottom he may choose to change. Terry my step dad is now in Heaven where I know he does not deal with alcoholism anymore. This is such a hardship on any family. Best wishes.

It sucks to feel that way. I think sometimes we all still obsess about food. Its okay. You have lost a ton of weight already so you are already a winner. Just do not beat yourself up and wake up in the morning with a new set of goals. Maybe make sure you leave the house and stay busy. It is easier for me on my work days because I do not have time to think about food. Maybe Aunt flo will be gone and you can get back on track. I can not wait to be a sucessful as you.

Update on my 5th fill!
momonamission replied to Kim2BSlim's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
congrat on a good fill. I just had my 2nd one and they have me 2 now. I could not tell a difference on the first fill. But Boy can I now. I am 1 week post fill. The family and I just went to eat and I still could only eat about 5 bites and I started slimming. I was very aware of chewing and not drinking. I am still hungry but it's not worth eatting it. I thought we would be able to eat until we got full but it would just take us less to get full. I might just still be too tight. Let me know how you do. I was always surprised at how small your fills where. The lady who did my first fill said she tries to give 2cc on the first fill but she could see on the flouro it would not go thru. second fill was 2cc. I might be more sensitive than others. Are you tight now? -
I was trying to come up with something wonderful to say that had not been said already, but everybody said it just right. You look amazing. Good for you. Oh my goodness. I just went back and looked at your stats. It says you are 5'6 and 178. I just went for a fill this past weekend and they said I was at 188 and I am 5'6 also. So do you think if I lose10 more pounds I will look like a hottie too. I can go to sleep know with a smitle on my face. You just made my day and gave me inspiration to set a short term goal. I wonder how many weeks I should give myself to lose 10 pounds. What do yall think.

It is awful, but not as awful as being over weight!!!! So congrats on good restriction.
