  1. I use pre-op count. I worked for every pound and I count every pound. I only lost about 5 pre-op but they were a hard 5.
  2. WowWowWow. You must be so excited. I am excited for you. Those are great pics. Also thanks Michelle for fixing the pics.
  3. Paula- You are stronger than you know. I have always been able to see the stregth in your posts. I could give you advice for hours on inner stregth but I know you really do not want to hear that. But, what I will say is I know you have it in you to feel better and we all have missed you. You are a big part of our lapband family. I will be thinking about you. xoxoxox
  4. Julie- I can gain and lose that 3 times in one day. So just get back to work and do not hyper focus on it. You had a great week and that is wonderful. Glad your back.
  5. I totally enjoyed this post. But than I thought? I must be doing it wrong. I have not had any pain. I guess I will go back to the drawing board.
  6. I hope he is in a better place and has some kind of peace. Who knows why people do these things. It is hard to understand being depressed enough end your life. Sometimes it is just to hard to see over the mountain. I am sorry for his family and the pain they will continue to go thru. My thoughts are with you.
  7. I love the dress. You look great. I keep meaning to take pictures of myself. Although I would than have to wait for my niece to come over and put them on the computer. How many calories do you burn down loading pictures?
  8. Kathy-Way to go!!! I can not wait to see a picture. Can you tell us that wish to follow in your foot steps. What is the best part. How has it changed your world? Enquiring minds want to know.
  9. My fill person told me 3 to 4 fills until most of her clients hit there sweet spot. Dr. Ortiz says o average 2 -3 fills. But many people get more than that. It just depends on how much you need to lose, your habits, how aggresive your fill doctor is, how much you work you put into it yourself, and how you did on your post-op diet. I am sure even more things contribute to it but I do not know them all. For sure it is easy to say it is not going to be the same for everyone.
  10. I am so thrilled for Cassie. We all know how hard it is to be over weight. It is nice to see that Cassie has a new chance at life to feel more confident. It is hard enough for teenagers as it is. She looks happy and healthy and deserving of a magazine article. Way to go Cassie. Thanks for the post Michelle.
  11. I like to do clothes too. I know I will shrink out of them but it makes me feel good anyway. I am not buying expensive stuff though.
  12. It is very normal for you to put a couple of pounds back on. I just tried just to stay the same. It was hard though. I did not start to lose weight until after my fill. Even than it went slow until my second fill. Ya know what ...it is still going slow. But it is going. Those pounds add up and if you only lose 1 pound a week you will lose 52 in a year. That sounds good to me.
  13. I posted this earlier. Pay attention if it happens right after you drink or eat. I found if I drank to much or something thicker than I should I would get bad shoulder pains. Just pay attention to those little details and you might be able to get it under control. It took me almost a month to get over it completely.
  14. If you stay strict on yourself for the next little bit you will be fine. Also if you give up soda's all together it will really help. (not even diet.) You can't have it after so you my as well start now. Good luck.
  15. It was so exciting being there starting this new part of my life. I hope you enjoy. It will have some bumps but it will be well worth it in the end. Congrats.
  16. Try eatting less and see if that helps. If I go over board my body sends me signals and sometimes that is one of them. Even though you do not feel full your upper pouch might be. My lower and upper pouches disagree all the time. I am learning to listem to my upper. Full does not have the same feeing as before. Good luck.
  17. You are awsome. You are exactly what this forum needs. You stayed upbeat during all your hard work and kept on going. I hope you find your answer. Maybe when that is resolved you will see some progess. But you might not would have found out there was a problem if you had not been doing your homework. Keep staying positive because you are making the best choices for your health. Great job.
  18. Just stay positive which some days can be hard. But it does get better. Congrats.
  19. I did know about the liquid fruit thing. I did not buy it yet cause I was afraid it would taste like crap. but maybe now I will try it. I did not know about the new Fuze flavor. I am looking forward to that one. Thanks.
  20. Do not get to worked up if you gain a couple of pounds to begin with. Your body has been in starvation mode and will have to adjust to eatting solids again. You will start to lose again when you get your fills. Congrats. I did fish which I use to hate but now enjoy. I would stay away from steak for a while. Congrats.
  21. I think the thing is to stop eatting before you feel full. If you have good restriction now you will see why soon. If you over eat you will pay the price and it's not pretty or fun. I did not feel much on my first fill but I did use alot of self control. I guess you just have to remember to try self control before you get good restriction. I was always afraid of messing up my band. When you go to get a fill under flouro they can look at your pouch and tell what you have done. When I went this last time somebody over ate too much and messed up there band and they have to have there band removed. Mr. Ortiz says" Do not test the band. Test yourself. See how little you can eat and be satisfied." That is what I have tried to do. Yes, some days are harder than others but it does get easier and the rewards feel great.
  22. Good luck to all of yall. Glad to hear yall are doing well.
  23. I have not had that problem. This morning I thought a bowl of cereal sounded like a nice change. Well, I only got 3 bites and knew right away it would not work. It may have been the cold milk or the fluid solid mix? Who knows. I guess that goes on the do not work list.
  24. Fill are key!!! I know it can be difficult but I drive 5 hours to get mine. Without fills you my as well not have gotten the band. I could not tell on my first fill at all. But boy my second fill was be time effective. You should be able to be seen sooner if you go to fillcentersusa. I do not seem to sound like a hardass, but if you want sucess you will have to find out a way of getting those fills. Good luck.
