  1. I am on day 11 post-op and I have lost 16 lbs since my surgery. I am 47 years old. Some days I gain some days I loose. So now I am going to weigh only once a week. I have started taking my measurements and keeping up with them. Even if the scale does not show any progress, the tape measure does. I, also take a supplement called Milk thistle. It is for the liver. In any weight loss endeavor, your liver must be functioning properly. Milk thistle seems to help a sluggish liver. I really believe that it help me loose the 32 lbs that I lost pre-op.
  2. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Let us know how you are doing.
  3. Please remember my family in your thoughts and prayers. My wife and I found out yesterday that our son was killed in a motorcycle wreck near Ft. Bragg. The sight of the Army chaplin pulling into your driveway is something that I hope that I never see again. This is going to be tough. You are not suposed to have to bury your kids.
  4. Don't worry about going to Mexico. The OCC is awesome. I was so impressed with my experience.

  8. It was talking about the liquid stage saying if it could not sucked through a straw, don't have it. That he recommended not to use a straw because of the possibility of swallowing air which could cause or contribute to more gas pains. I took this to heart because when I had my radiation treatments, I have had the severe gas pains for about 5 months. I did not want to revisit those times. Been there and won the t-shirt.
  9. I read about the straws in Dr. Ortiz's book.
  10. That sound like it would be good and especially with cucumber sauce. I can not wait to try it. My solid food stage begins July 7. Thanks.
  11. Rob, Do you have the "VG Band" ? I have the "VG Band" and it holds 13cc. I would think 5 and half cc's would be a good agressive fill.

  13. Stay in there and hang tuff. You can do it.
  14. It is just like the post-op diet, every Dr. has different guidelines.
  15. I was at 392Lbs when I first scheduled my surgery. I was told that I needed to loose 18 lbs.before my surgery date. On the pre-op diet, I lost 32 lbs. The pre-op diet is to shrink the liver to make it easier on you and the surgeon.
  16. Wow, that was nice for that lady to do that. In this day and time you do not see many acts of kindness.

  20. Wishing Good Luck your way. I know what you mean. Nashville to TJ is 2 very long flights for me. (for someone who does not like to fly.)
  21. I was told that he does the first and second fills under Flouro to make sure everything is o. k.(mandortory) Then the rest is done without Fluoro. Depends on what you want.
  22. I have found a Dr. to do my fills in Nashville, Tn. So, I will not have to drive 200 miles for a fill. This Dr is only 45 miles from my house. And with today's gas prices plus the time savings, this is why I am so excited!!!!! My first fill will be August 13.
