  1. I was wondering why, "Stars and Stripes" was playing when I came to in the OR. lol
  2. That is the same attitude that I got as I tried to find a fill dr closer to home. When I told them that I was banded in Mexico, the conversation was over. I did finally found a Dr 45 miles from my home, who is located in Nashville who is going to do my fills. His prices are higher than the fill centers but I have no problem with that. I figured the time that I would save would be well worth the extra expense.
  3. The OCC is "awesome" I do not regret going to Mexico for my surgery. Since I had to pay for my surgery, I just wished that I had went To the OCC 3 years ago when I first started researching the lap-band. My Insurance would not not pay a penny on it. I received t good care from all of the staff at the OCC. I have had surgery in the USA and did not even come close to the excellent treatment that I received at the OCC. And when I need plastic surgery from the weight loss, I am considering going back to TJ for it.
  4. Thanks. It is great to be posting again. Everyone's kind words and prayers really meant a lot to me. Thanks again.
  5. Congrats. We are expecting our third grandchild Aug 1. My granddaughter is 8 and my grandson is 5 years old. Grandkids are one of the rewards of getting wiser (older). They are so special.
  6. Congrats on your decision for a healthier lifestyle and getting the financing that you needed. It will be some of the best money that you will ever spend. I am so amazed on how much better that I feel each and everyday.
  7. Iwas banded June 16 and had no problems, whatsoever. I was up walking 30 minutes after surgery and felt fine. The next morning when I was released, My wife took me to every store on Revolution blvd. I was one of the lucky ones, as I had very little to no gas problems or pains.
  8. Yes, we have met. I was the first one back that morning for the pre-ops and the first one to have surgery that day.
  9. I did think he had a great personality though. I actually talked more with Dr Martinez. I did have excellent care. I was so impressed with the OCC.
  10. Welcome to the forum. Great progress so far on your pre-op diet. I dropped 32 lbs in two weeks while on my pre-op diet.
  11. Greetings and thanks for all of the prayers and kind thoughts. We are doing O.K. At times, my wife and I take turns breaking down. Our daughter has took it hard as well. The visitation was last Wednesday and the funeral was Thursday. This was the hardest two days of our lives. The service was beautiful. The funeral home and the military personnel done an outstanding job. Shawn loved to ride motorcycles and he died doing what he enjoyed most. We found out last Monday that he had signed an organ donor card and they had trouble reaching us since our home phone and 2 cell phones were constantly in use. So due to the time limitations, the only organs he could donate was his eyes. So there is one person out there somewhere that can see due to his donation. Thanks again to everyone and may God bless each and everyone of you.
  12. That is great news, Debra and Denise. With today's gas prices and the time factor, it will be more convenient.
  13. And a BIG congrats on your smoke-free endeavor. That is a HUGE accomplishment in it self.
  14. I thought the first 3 weeks were an eternity while I was on the liquid diet. I am so glad that I am on the solid food stage.
  15. That is great. I know that I was excited when I found a local Dr. to do my fills. Instead of driving 190 miles to a fill center, this Dr. is about 50 miles from my house. I would love to go back to the OCC for my fills but, the time factor is what is stopping me from going to TJ for fills.
  16. My solid food date was July 7. I had some salmon, grilled on a cedar plan and really seasoned up. It was the best DARN salmon that I ever had. lol
  17. I have the same thing. My incision seems to be a little raised when you rub your fingers over it.
  18. congrats on your accomplishment.
  19. Thanks Kiitycat, we are hanging in there. This last week has been tough. We have had to wait on the military.(6 days) Our son's body will arrive Tuesday at Nashville and then he will be transported to the funeral home. Tomorrow, we will be able to go make the final arrangements with visitation Wednesday night and the funeral Thursday. So the worst part is yet to come.. I would like to thank everyone for their kind words, thoughts and prayers during our difficult time.
  20. Thank you all for your prayers and kind words. I am so thankful that he did get to come home and spent the week before father's day with us. On father's day, we were traveling to the OCC because I was banded the next day.
  21. Congrats on your progress and keep up the good work.
  22. Yes, he was and we were so proud of him. He had just reenlisted. He was being reassigned to Ft. Bragg and he was on a leave. he had relocated to the area and was to report to Ft. Bragg, July 1.
