  1. Hope you have a wonderful Birthday Dr. O!
  2. Let us know how your fill goes with the new Dr.? I have my 1st fill scheduled 7/4/08.
  3. Do you know when this will re-air so I can set my DVR to record? Please let us know ASAP!! Where do I also go to see Cassie's pictures? I think that it is wonderful for teens to do this. There is so much pressure in high school, let alone being overweight. This was a big decision for your family and the right one!! Good luck =D>
  4. I am with you! I weighed myself yesterday and today and up 2 pounds. It gets very frustrating and discouraging. I have been watching what I eat, keep track of it, walk, drink lots of water, and I am gaining weight?? Saturday will be one month from my surgery and with the 2 pound gain, I have only lost 8 pounds since then? Everyone keeps saying to wait till your first fill, why? I feel the restriction now, and eat so much less than I use to. What is the deal? HELP! :lb6:
  5. I had to take children's Motrin to get rid of my major headache. It was so bad it was making me sick. I think allot of the headache had to do with a combination of things. My left shoulder was in so much pain from the gas of the surgery, that it was bringing me to tears. I also went cold turkey on soda, I lived on Diet Coke. (Good thing is since the surgery I have not craved it at all!) I was a morning quad expresso person before the surgery, also cut that down the first 2 weeks, the taste was gross to me, and craved Ice Tea, which I never drank before. So basically went cold turkey on that also. I also went right back to work after the surgery, but couldn't work the full 8 hours. I was drinking bottles of Motrin at work but it finally worked with the walking. I hope you feel better! :give_rose:
  6. Girls I gained 5 pounds after the surgery. I weighed myself when I got back home, I think the 4th day after surgery. But I lost that 5 and another 10. Don't worry it will go away.
  7. Ok now I am really discouraged because I got on the scale today and gained 1.5 pounds back. I do know that yesterday I didn't have enough water, but ate very good. I can feel the water retention as we speak. And as of right now, I bought a birthday cake for one of my co-workers and cut me a sliver of a piece and eating it. God it's good!! HELP I am falling off the wagon and getting totally discouraged!! The good part about the cake is, before I would have cut me a a regular piece to eat and probably gone back for 2nds later in the day! :lb6:
  8. It just gets frustrating!! Especially since I do feel the restriction without the fill, and only eat half of what I use to. I saw your reply on that other post, about having a piece a cake and pizza, good for you. Everything you said in that post was right on. I've done the same, had the pizza, had a ice cream sundae, but still couldn't eat as much as I use to. Thanks for your support! :girl_dance:
  9. I think our bill said 940 Pecos which is around $94.00 a night
  10. Amen....................Everything you said is right on!!
  11. Oh my god this is wonderful!! You need to post this site under a new topic for everyone. Today I started doing no carbs, and low calories, to see if this will help. Along the lines of a south beach diet, but except with fruit. I think that is also one of my problems, not eating fruit. Yesterday I realized that I haven't had a piece of fruit in about 10 days, and fruit is very important I think. Thank you so much for your help! :lb23:
  12. That's funny................... after I had the surgery I now don't like Coffee any longer either! I thought that was wierd but I guess not. I also never drank ice tea before, hated it, and now that is all I drink!
  13. If you have a Sam's Club or Costco you can get 12 for $10.00
  14. Lisa I just had my lap band done 5/7/08 and just posted a new topic today but no one has responded. I am having the same problems. I am stuck at 10 pounds, but watching what I am eating and I also feel the restriction. Question, you like a completely different person in your "After" picture. What are your stats? Band date w/weight and now?
  15. I was banded on 5/7/08 and have lost 10 pounds which I am very happy about. I lost the 10 pounds the first 2 weeks though, and have not lost anything else since then. I am eating a 3rd of what I use to and I have been walking every day 30 minutes or longer. I started writing down today what I am eating, but I have been keeping it under 1200 calories. My first fill appointment is 7/4/08, but like I said I am already restricted from the band on my eating. Any suggestions? :dash3:
  16. Oh I don't know she just gave me a quote that included my van, hotel stay and fill. Hmmmmmm, good question though!
  17. I just bought a case from Sam's Club over the weekend, with glass bottles.(never seen them in plastic bottles) They have the same as above except for the Blueberry Raspberry, they have the Tangerine Grapefruit which is probably my favorite. Just a little FYI since Costco and Sams Club are both the places where you by in bulk.
  18. I was a bad girl for the pre-op, gained a pound, so I am the last person to comment on pre-op. The nutritionist, Dr. Miranda will see you before the surgery and she will give you a packet that list in detail what you can have and on what days. I still carry that packet in my purse, because I swear I took it out every 5 minutes to look on it. Before the surgery, you will be there with a bunch of other girls 10 being the max, but they will take you back one by one. They go down the line by rooms, and I was 2nd to last. Wasn't nervous a bit, actually slept and watched TV in my hospital bed, while my mom read until the surgery. You will meet all the Dr.'s during this time. Oh, you will love the paper Thong, yes I said paper Thong!! Anyway next thing I knew they took me back for the surgery and then I remember waking up in my room. It seemed like 5 minutes. Everything is going to go so easy and you are going to be so happy being a bandster! Need anything just shoot an email at me. Good luck again! :lb11:
  19. I had my surgery 3 weeks ago in TJ. My mom went with me and was very hesitant about us going there. When I first told her, she said NO you are not getting it done there. We both did our research on Dr. Ortiz, could not find anything bad or negative about him. But we were still not sure what to expect. My mom works for Sacramento County, and I hate to say it but my mom and myself are "Hotel Snobs" After I had the surgery done and the stay at the Lucerna, my mom stated that she would ONLY recommend TJ to get their surgery done. It was very nice. The people at the hotel, and the hospital are very wonderful. Our waiter's remembered are name each day. I had 2 bellhop men that every time they saw me they made sure that I was feeling ok, asked if they could help me with anything? Service like this is very hard to come by. The food at the Lucerna is wonderful. The chicken broth is sooooo good, I only wish I could have found it where I lived like that. There is also a Starbucks a cross the street if you are coffee drinker. Nothing but good things in TJ, you will be well taken care of. I am even taking my daughter back with me on 7/4/08 when I get my first fill, because I had a great experience and she will love the pool at the hotel! Good luck, don't be nervous, and welcome to bandster land! PS - Dr. Ortiz is such a hottie with also a personality!
  20. I haven't had a fill yet, but trust me you will know the feeling when you are full. It's even hard to almost take a breath. From what people have told me if you don't have that feeling and you are eating more than a 1/3 of what you use to, you should probably go get another fill. :bad:
  21. I am scheduled July 4th, but my van fee was included in my total cost with fill and hotel?
  22. You look wonderful, amazing, a whole different person! Good for you. You are a total inspiration. :cheerleader: :lb16: :lb13: :lb10: :lb21: =D>
  23. That is wonderful! Good job! =D>
