  1. I had a great time today! Y'all are all so nice! I also enjoyed meeting everyone's significant other as well. When we (me and my hubby) left, we both commented on how much we enjoyed ourselves and how we love listening to everyone's stories. I would love to do it again sometime...even if it is not for a fill. Maybe we could do it periodically, but do it in a different hometown each time??? Thanks again everyone...it was a blast!!!
  2. Hello All! I live about 5 minutes from the Fill Center, so I can help you out! There is a Taco Mac about 2 miles away, but that may not be the healthiest choice. If you go towards the mall (about 7 miles) you would have a ton of choices...you name it and it is probably there. There is also a Red Lobster, Olive Garden, and Brookwood Grill about 5 miles away. I may be able to meet y'all depending on the time that you are going to meet. If someone wants to email me at t.lafoon@gmail.com, I can give you my number and give you directions to any place you want to go.
  3. Hello All! I start solid food on Friday. I was think that I would have a protein bar for my breakfast from now on. Can anybody recommend ones that taste good and are really high in protein? If you can recommend a brand and flavor, do you know how much protein is in the one bar? Thanks for the help!
  4. Oh man...I wish I could make it, but I have to go to my cousins college graduation. I live in Roswell! Next time y'all are here let me know. I would love to meet everyone. Where are y'all coming from???
  5. I was at Walmart the other day, and they had huge bags of fresh sliced frozen fruit. It had everything from apples to nectarines in it. I thought I may try that when I go on solids.
  6. I hear ya! When I start solids, I definitely like the idea of using the little plate. I think it will help me with my portion control issues!
  7. I have trouble knowing when to stop eating. It seems like the difference between not full and stuffed happens in one bite. I am trying to figure out how to know when to quit before I have that "full as a tick" (as us southerns say) feeling. Any suggestions?
  8. Ok...I have yet another dumb question! I am constantly worried about band slippage and the port flipping. How do you know if either of these things have happened???
  9. Well, I would assume that the port is right below the largest incision. If this is true, then no. It is right under the rib cage on the far left side.
  10. Hello All! I was banded on May 30. For the last two days, I have had a new and very uncomfortable feeling. It seems to be just under my rib cage on my left side. I feel like I am full of knots or that there is a foot on the inside of me that is pushing really hard trying to get out. It doesn't really hurt. it is just very uncomfortable. Any ideas?
  11. Hello! All you will need is a few t-shirts and comfy shorts. I wore my Birkenstocks the whole time. They were easy to wear through airport security! You will need cash...brings lots of ones and fives as many of the places you will need the cash don't make change!. You will need it for shopping and tipping people (hotel bell boys, OCC drivers, taxi drivers, etc.) We brought $200 and spent every dime of it. I recommend some Phazyme and liquid pain medicine. I brought Gas-X strips but they did not work for me. Truelytangledgirl gave me some Phazyme and it worked great! You may also want to bring some books or magazines and an I-Pod or MP3 player. Remember to pack your liquids (meds, shampoos, etc.) in small containers and put them in a quart sized ziploc. These are the requirements for the airport! I left all my jewelry at home. I know this is a lot of random info, but I hope it helps!!!
  12. Hello all! I am at the creamy soup stage of my post op diet. Did any of y'all have anything other than creamy soup during this stage? I was thinking about making some creamed potatoes. (Creamed potatoes may be a southern thing. They are different than mashed potatoes. They are actually "creamed" with an electric mixer and milk.) I am trying to think of things that are about the same consistancy, but will provide me with a little more variety. There are only so many types of soup! Also, when it was time for y'all to start solids, did y'all just dive right in or slowly get into solids by having softer foods first? Thanks for the help!!!
  13. How do you know if it has flipped or not? I am so afraid to do anything for fear that it will flip!
  14. What have I done! I am 2 weeks post op and I just ate a large handful of Cheetoes. It was only been about 5 minutes since I ate them, and so far, I am not experiencing any pain or anything but I feel so darn guilty. With each bite, I asked myself why I was doing this...yet I could stop. I bet I just ate 20 or them! Why did I do that???
  15. Thanks a bunch! You guys are the greatest!!!
  16. So we went to Golden Corral for dinner tonight. I am at the creamy soups stage so I though I could order the kids buffet and just eat the Clam Chowder. They were only willing to give me the senior citizen discount which meant I paid nine bucks for a small coup of soup. I spoke to the manager. I explained to him about Lap Band and showed him the card. He said that it is "company policy" to only give the senior citizen discount (which is $0.80 less than my husbands). Have any of y'all had a similar situation when you went out to eat? If so, where were you?
  17. Hello All! Any idea how long we have to wait once we are banded to have sex???
  18. HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY YOU ARE THE BEST!!!
  19. I am having the same feelings. On top of it all, I am so thirsty, but even drinking just gives me the same feeling. I can drink a little water or tea and feel full as a tick...so you can imagine how I feel trying to get in the protein and calories! I am just hoping that this too shall pass! By the way, how are your incisions? Is the glue off yet?
