  1. It's a common price. It's the same price as I was quoted at True Results in Scottsdale. It's also the highest price I've been quoted. There are some "drive thru" clinics in Dallas. They're cheap, but you don't have a clue about your surgeon. Feel free to call any of the clinics for a price. All of them were nice and none of them called back to solicit. They only called back with answers to my questions.
  2. I sent friend requests (but I haven't put much more than a picture on my account) http://www.myspace.com/sonoran_skies Here's me
  3. You all will force me to blunder into my MySpace account. I'm on Facebook, Plaxo and LinkedIn. Are any of you?
  4. I lived in Augusta for 5 years...I think y'all rubbed off on me!
  5. Why did you give up chocolate? Newbies need to know!
  6. Oh boy. You made me remember. The Eggs Florentine Breakfast English Muffin thingy at Starbucks. Remembering MamaMichelle's link and the sticker calorie shock, I looked it up. It isn't evil! :lb21: At 380 calories, it's many, but my daughter will happily gobble up half. 190 calories!!! Better do that one before first fill. It might not go down afterwards.
  7. I'm doing horribly on my goal of 1100 calories a day. And I'm being honest with the food diary. I use thedailyplate.com. On the upside, I am doing very well on 8 glasses of water and 1200 calories a day. On the downside, the scale is perfectly happy to remain forever at 188. For. Freaking. Ever. ( Yesterday's "binge" was a fun size Almond Joy. Today's was an ounce of peanut butter. On the upside, I'm doing really well at getting 90 g of protein a day and less than 25 g of fat a day, most of it unsaturated. On the downside, I SUCK at getting even 15 g of fiber a day. I want a glass of wine. Just one. But, if I do, then I'll be at 1300 calories today. Can't do it. I just wish I'd given up the slice of toast at breakfast. Or the peanut butter. What, in your opinion constitutes a binge? Is a 1500 calorie day a binge day? How many of you keep a food diary? How many calories a day do you all aim for?
  8. I haven't kept it a secret. I'd never be able to remember who I told and who I didn't. Most people are supportive. The gossips will gossip. My "cares what the mean gossipers say" gene broke sometime around age 35 I've done nothing, weight wise, but hold steady since starting solids.
  9. Just a question...why aren't you putting your band to work for you? You've done great without restriction, but stopped doing great. From a newbie, isn't that when we get a fill?
  10. Wow! Huge Congratulations! 25 pounds in less than a month. Have you made the NSV U-turn?
  11. I had a mole on my knee removed two years ago. Dermatologist didn't think to tell me to keep sunscreen on it. It's now a dark spot. No biggie. Dr. O noticed it and told me that those of us who tan well (olive skinned here) need to keep the scars covered. I can put SPF 45 on it, but don't know how to keep them sun free while letting the rest of the skin in the general area brown up a bit. I'd have Bullseyes For me, they wouldn't turn bright red, they'd just be brown scratch lines for a few years. They'd tan darker than the rest of my skin. Dr. O said he was a PS resident. Looks like he tans well, too I can wear tankinis for a year and brown up next year.
  12. After all the dermabond falls of on its own and your incisions are scab free, THEN it's safe to go back in the water
  13. The internal swelling and tightness lasted about a week. Haven't had a fill, yet, I get the first one a week from tomorrow. Is having a fill like the first few days post surgery? Some swear by Vicodin. I got better results with keterol (the Supradol they gave us at the clinic) or Ibuprofen. Ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory. Vicodin isn't.
  14. That's internal swelling. Your liver, stomach, esophagus and a few other ograns got moved to put the band in. And THEN, to add insult to injury, there's this new piece of silicone they all have to get used to...especially your stomach. It's now narrowed into something that will fit inside this little strip of silicone. It's mad, it's swollen. It will be okay. Liquid vitamins, plenty of sleep and ibuprofen worked wonders.
  15. I don't think it's drastic at all...Subway has been doing it forever (on the low cal stuff). I worry about mom and pop places having to pay 10s of 1000s for testing -- maybe there should be an exemption or something, but for corporate chain type of places with national menus -- that would benefit everyone.
  16. You've probably been soaking up the oh-so-negative stuff on lapbandtalk. I had to leave there...It felt like their negativity/horror stories and whatnot were going to infect me. Stick around and read and ask questions. Knowledge is power. I had 4 consults and did my homework for about 15 months before taking the plane to San Diego....you're not ready until you're ready.
  17. Congratulations! When it cools of just a hair in Hotlanta, you know we'll be watching for pictures of you in your new J-E-A-N-S! =D>
  18. Ditto. I can't call it pain, but it is twinge-y.
  19. Probably. Sounds like what I was experiencing in my shoulder, just in a place that's close to your shoulder. GaxX and Phazyme didn't really help that much for me, just time did. I didn't think of it then, but I think a vibrator might have helped break up the bubbles faster.
  20. Gosh, that sounds like a far more educated response than: Vile, unwashed, mean spirited creatures, typically not that bright, which live under bridges and eat unsuspecting baby goats. Back to your regularly scheduled station...
  21. No. SweetNLow is old fashioned saccharin. They've tried and tried and tried to villify it, but found that it's harmless. There's too much tripe mixed in with the truth about Nutrasweet. More urban legend than fact. It isn't a poison. It won't perm your hair, blind frogs, etc
  22. I like it, but DH does't. It's Sweet-N-Low at our house, too
  23. Hi there, You didn't mention how long it's been or how much weight you've lost since your last fill. If it's only been a few weeks, what MamaMichelle said makes a lot of sense (and she's inspiration enough for all of us!) But if it's been a while and your stomach tissue is leaner, then it makes perfect sense to get a fill.
