  3. Vix my heart goes out to you xoxo In my opinion, i believe that there comes a time when we have to remember that we are people with our own minds and own beliefs.. when we get married we do often go in an automatic mode and do whats best for everyone else...meaning husband/wife children and often put ourselves last. Its so important to remember Vix that you can make this decision on your own and need to make that clear to your husband in your letter... being his wife doesnt mean that if he is against the idea of you being banded that you will just not do it. I do understand that it is not an easy way to decide something that your husband is so against, In saying all of this i do have to say i have not been in your circumstance as my husband was very supportive of me being banded. So maybe what im saying is wrong but it is only my opinon if i was in your circumstances. I am sure if he truely loves you Vix he will come to understand how important it is to you. Stay strong to what you want to do and I wish you all the best.. please keep us updated and we will provide you with the support you need to get through this hard time :give_rose:
  4. Thanks so much mamaMichelle... i will do some research to see if i can get them here in Australia. Where would i buy them? Do you buy them in a pack or how do they come? Have you tried them before ? Sorry for my 100 questions xox
  5. I was banded only 5 days ago now and since then i have had no compulsion to eat or feel hungry and only eat (should i say drink due to liquid diet) because i have to. I battle due to the full sensation to drink 2 opitfast shakes and losing around a kilo per day (which is about 2.2 pounds) since being banded but i am concerned im not getting enough protein..ive heard of a protein bomb - what is a protein bomb??? i know the the opifast only has 17g of protein. Im still pretty new at all of this.. but don't want to run into any health concerns due to not consuming enough.

    Feeling Better...

Day 3 - I have to say im feeling so much better than i felt yesterday... NO Nausea NO pain and very little gas . Although i do have to say i spent most of last night reading about MUSHIE FOOD stage.. and it may sound extremely strange but i cant wait to eat any type of real food even if it has to be blended... my teeth actually hurt yesterday from not chewing anything for the last 10 days so in 10 more days im really wondering what will happen! Today was a pretty normal day on a liquid diet - or so what i think is normal should i say. * 8am 150mls of Water and my daily vitamin * 10am a small diet vanialla yoghurt * 2pm a Coffee Optislim shake * 4pm a Coffee - which i couldn't drink all of -- anyone who knows me well will know that is not me at ALL I am a HUGE Coffee Fan! * 8pm a Chocolate Optifast shake And so far have managed to drink around 1 litre thru-out. Since having the operation i have noticed that im always full... wondering if that will last... in what ive read so far its not... so im going to enjoy it while i can The only thing ive noticed today is that after everything i have drunk-sipped very soon after i have had that gas pain in my left shoulder. I feel there is so much to learn about my new band, I have read alot of great information and tips from alot of you.. and its really helping me alot. Will keep you updated xox

    Day 2 - post op

This my very first blog ever... so it may not be the most perfect, but i feel it important for myself to remember my highs and lows during this experience and aswell share it with anyone who wants to read it My name is Rhonda and i live in Sydney Australia and im 35, i have a great supportive husband and 3 beautiful children aged 11, 8 and 6. They are truely my inspiration to a long healthy life. I have been over weight since my first daughter was born almost 12 years ago...and with each other pregnancy i kept putting on weight. I have tried almost every fad diet that ever hit the shelf... ending up losing weight but never able to maintain it. In Dec 05 i was admitted into hospital and had to have my Gall Bladder removed that is when i met my Dr who after my op asked me if i had ever considered weight loss surgery. Since then, almost 3 years ago i have now finnally decided to go ahead with LAP BAND SURGERY! I was banded on the 22nd of July 2008 in a private Sydney hospital at around 8.00am... and i was taken back to my room at approx 10.30am. Most of that day is a blur because i was still having the effects of the anesthesia. I have 4 small incisions plus one a little larger for where im told the port has been placed.. they are all a little sensitive, but not that painful. I have very slight bruising on the port incision only. Day 1 - today i was sent home... stocked with peppermint water, heat packs and a heavy towel which i held across my stomach for support. It worked for me!! Day 2 - of living with a lap band (im now officially a bandit).. and i have to say i'm not feeling that great right now..although i am going to try and stay super positive. Since having the lap band i have had this feeling of fullness and excess saliva in my mouth- if i could describe it i would say it was very simular feeling of morning sickness. :lb12: Not something that i expected.. im not sure if i would prefer to be feeling hungry or like this. I guess in the days to come i will tell you!! lol I am moving a little slower and trying to rest as much as possible but have to say im feeling a little down about the whole thing. I really hope tomorrow is a better day... i think my husband is thinking that too... ive been a bit teary and emotional and im sure a little too demanding even though he says its okay..
