  1. i think it's time for another picture/update!
  2. i loved reading your story. ups and downs aside, it looks like youre doing wonderful, i hope for half your success
  3. so wonderful! reading stories like yours help me deal with this long looong wait i have until i get banded. thank you for sharing
  4. and the band is for life. maybe you've gained a bit a few weeks out, but 3 month, 6months, a year out: everyone loses BIG and for good.
  5. stormy, you can do this. dont be mad at OSuzanna, i truly believe she wrote that out of concern for your health. let your stomach heal. read the success stories. focus on the future.stay positive. im sorry youre going through this, but YOU WILL GET THROUGH!
  6. i think the loose skin is a combination result of how big you are, how long youve been overweight, and genetics. i saw this clip on youtube of this guy who lost 375 on his own (and good for him!!! <3) but he's got a lot of loose skin. so, not just wls patients suffer this. i dont think everyone can just excersise loose skin off. http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=EDGHuuEn_FI&...feature=related
  7. i want to be able to sit comfortably in an airplane seat. soon, soon...
  8. wow! those pictures are such an inspiration, congratulations!
  9. HopefulFuture, i konw that i dont want to tell people b/c unless they are overweight too, they wont understand, and their negativity makes me mad/brings me down. no need to tell anybody if you dont want to, it's your business. i plan on doing as most others do: im not telling anyone, but if they ask after i have the band, i'll be an open book. thanks for the encouragement on my savings, everyone! i live in south korea, we dont have lean cuisines here, but i'll work something out. well, maybe they have something at costco, i'll check it out.
  10. tho i do a lot more reading than posting, i love the support on this forum. wonderful people here i'll be the South Korea Liaison once i get banded in march2009... OR february, actually, b/c this forum inspires me so much, im saving money HARD!
  11. fudge yeah, spot on post. go see the doctor, and if it's not helping, find another doctor. someone needs to listen to and adrs your concerns.
  12. please update later, kalidastar, let us know how it's feeling in a few days. maybe you'll feel more restriction given some time.
  13. ive also decided to not tell anyone until after. when i mentioned i was thinking about the lapband 6 months or so ago, i was met w/so much "easy way" "gimmick" "just exercise" talk, i abandoned the idea in all conversation and even in my own thoughts, thinking that they were right. Bump'em. im doing it. im saving money, i think i'll be able to do it in february instead of march at my rate. go me, i rock!
  14. not yet, aiming to do so in march 2009. the lap band costs 7-8 thousand USD here.
  15. wow, why such a difference in the band sizes? 4cc capacity to 10 cc capacity?
  16. a piece of the tlc show on youtube, if anyone is interested... youtube.com/watch?v=AkvdEoM4Uqs i live in south korea, i watch US tv on the computer.

  18. An electric mixer is easier than mixing by hand but you still have to follow the recipe for the cake to taste good. well said!
