I'm so happy to hear this from you. I have been following your journey, and it has been a long road for you. Keep up the attitude. That is huuuuge! And good for you not weighing. I'm addicted to the scale also, and I should take your advise. I go for my 2nd fill this Saturday. I don't have much if any restriction now. And I hope this does the trick. This is the worst time of year for me. With all the holidays and the goodies that come with it. I know we can do it. Stay on this forum!!!! And pretty soon you will be too small for 22's!!! Tara

Omg! I am going for a fill this Saturday! I wish I would have read this after. I'm going to Dr H. Billy. He's supposed to be real good. I'm so sorry that you had this happen to you. I hope & pray that it is just your port, and not your band. I would hate to have to wait 9 months to get another one. Good luck and let us know how you are. Tara

Jazzy that is so cool that the family of 3 was your son. As to all the other responses, you were right, the other Doctors were jerks, but at the end, they seemed to come around to the idea. Dr. O. was very good, but yes he looked nervous. Maybe, it's because he didn't have his coffee cup! I hope they have him on again. And hopefully it will be a longer segment. They have several topics per show, and it seems that they should devote a whole show to some topics. Like Lap-Band. Anyway, I'm glad you guys saw it. Tara

Did anybody Dr. Ortiz on "The Doctors" tv program? I turned on the tv and there he was! It was very good. Hopefully you guys had your DVR's and video devices programmed. It was on Teen Lap-Band. But there was a family of 3 that also had done the surgery. I'm not sure they were Dr. Ortiz's patients, but the teen was. Best of luck to her "Stephanie" and her Mom. Tara

Wow, that's a lot! Glad to hear you have the restriction also. When I asked the fill doctor where does the missing saline go? He said there are crevices and such that it stays in sometimes. I guess the tubing as well, like you said. I'm going in for my 2nd fill in 2 weeks. Looking forward to it. But it's RIGHT before Thanksgiving. ( I guess that's a good thing. Tara

I thought I had a good first fill. I had it 2 weeks ago. I seem to have issues in the morning. Food got stuck. So now I do protein shake in the morn. But my 2 meals are easy to go down. I go by how full I feel and do the mental thing. But I can eat quite a bit sometimes, and I can take big vitamins. So, I think I'm in need of restriction. I had a binge last night, and I don't want to be able to do that. I'm going for my 2nd fill in 2 wks. Exactly 4 weeks apart. BTW my 1st fill was 2cc in a 4cc band. Remember it is 90% mental! Thank you very much for the post. I want to commend your weight loss. That is incredible!! I am 30 years older than you and I am currently single. and I too have self confidence issues. It doesn't change with age. And I have had the same thoughts about telling people about my surgery. Hopefully I will begin dating soon, and I will be able to tell "who foots the bill" as Kittycat put it. Good luck to you. And good work! Tara

Ok maybe I'm not doing this right. I know what you guys mean, I think about restriction. I feel it in the mornings. I hurt a couple of mornings there, so now I do a protein shake. But my other meals, I eat my portion and wait, and then see how I feel. I usually am satisfied, and full. So is that restriction? I got 2cc's in my 4cc band Oct 24th almost 2 weeks now. I'm losing 1-3 lbs a week. I tried to be aggresive for my fill, but he told me that the way they do it with the flouro, they determine how much each person needs. The other Tara was with me and got 1.6 in her 4 cc band. So, to us, it made sense, since each person is different. So, I felt we couldn't get more, even if we pushed it. Can we? This was @ the OCC. (Dr Acousta.) So is this restriction when I feel full? Or is that just my mind telling me I'm done. I don't want to eat till I hurt, that hurts! you know what I mean? I'm thinking of trying breakfast again in a few days to see if it is different now. I've only done 1 fill so far. Hoping do go for our second the beginning of next year. Thanks, Tara

Oh Amy, I'm sorry you are having such a rough time right now. I'm very sorry to hear about the loss of your Mother. That must be hard. Please don't let your husband dictate your weight loss goals. No man is worth that. Reading your post, I'm glad I'm single! Well, not really, but he does need to be more sensitive. It is good that you felt comfortable to share your feelings. It doesn't sound like you ate all that much. Anything now extra to us bandsters feels like too much. Think about how you ate before the band. Keep your chin high, and remember. I missed the spa deal!! Darn. I asked if there was a hot tub, and there isn't. The pool is not heated either. I was banded Sept. 12th. So, they said it was cold, and it was. I didn't even get in. We did enjoy lunch in the restaurant downstairs the day after surgery, it was very good. We took a cab to the mall. That was mostly shoe stores, but it was fun. And also it was partly being renovated. The rooms were very nice, of course TV's no dvd player, I had a view of the pool. Very pretty. The people that work there were so very nice. Next time, if I stay after a fill, I'll get a massage. Tara

So, check it out! The day I was getting my fill. Oct 24th. I asked if Dr O. was in to sign my book. Apparently that was the day he was taping "The Doctors". I don't know why I had to throw that. Yes, Dana, I have DVR'd the show also, I saw the preview. Hopefully soon. I think a lot of people are watching for it. As well as Lori. She said she would update us. Can't wait! Tara
