  1. It's not 100% official "yet" but there is a 90% chance my surgery at the OCC will need to be postponed. It's because of the allergy I have to the general anesthesia. It's not the OCC's fault, they need my allergist to perform some tests and my allergist can't perform the tests because it requires the meds. So I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place so to speak. I'm getting ready to relocate to Dallas (I'm very excited.), more specifically Frisco, Texas. (Yep...I'm moving from San Francisco to Frisco...too cute?) I figure once I get settled there, (Dana has a fill doctor I may contact for help coordinate the allergy testing and if that doesn't work out, once I get my new primary doctor) I'm going to try again to coordinate the testing so that I can eventually have the surgery. Hugs and love to all. I know what when this all gets worked out I'll be seeing less of all of you. xo (((((((((((((((((((((((Everyone)))))))))))))))))))))))))
  2. ((((((((((((Mona)))))))))))) I am so releaved to hear she's doing better. What a scare.
  3. ((((((((((((((((((((Christy)))))))))))))))))))))) I hear you. That's why I got the band as well. I can totally realate. Hugs! You'll look amazing at your sister's wedding!
  4. ((((((((((((((((((((CindyLou))))))))))))))))))))) I love this idea! I'll be last but it's okay. I'll need you all to cheer me on once I get banded. xo
  5. ((((((((((((((((((abuchanan98)))))))))))))))))))) Hugs to you. First of all, let me congratulate you on your weight loss and if I've read correctly you've been able to keep your weight off since July. I think that's half the battle. I haven't been banded "yet" but your surgery date was a significant date for me. On that day I weighed 212 (same as you). Today I don't even want to talk about it. lol I started at 294 on 3/12/07, dieted on my own and hit 212 a year and a half later. When I hit that number I lost my motivation, I know why but it's a long story. To shorten another long story, I was fitted for a bridesmaid dress as 212. When it came time for the wedding (a month ago) it had to be taken out 4 inches on each side. Yikes. I'm pretty confident I'm up to about 260 right now. My pre op starts soon and I haven't been in Onderland since 1996. I did get to 200.2 in 2002 but as I wrote, 5 years later I was at 294. I know what it's like to feel like that number won't come fast enough. Hang in there and consider the stabilization in your weight a victory. I think once you accept where you are as success, you'll be motivated to incorporate a few things to help the scale move. I do believe that "stress" can stop a scale from moving or worse yet, cause the body to gain weight. I don't think there is documented proof, but I was a professional weight loss consultant and I've seen it. Hang in there and take a deep breath. Make your goal 189 and focus on a 10 lb loss rather than a 1 or 2 lb loss. That will help change your thinking. Trust me. xo
  6. ((((((((((((((((Vicki))))))))))))))))) Hugs! I'm sorry you had difficulty sleeping last night. Congrats on the fab loss is amazing! Have a great day. You'll be in my thoughts.
  7. ((((((((((((((((((((((Hugs Everyone)))))))))))))))))))))) Well today is the day. I am meeting with my allergist to determine what caused the reaction in the operating room on 3/11. I haven't received the refund from my previous surgeon but I understand the "check is in the mail" and I'm glad I switched to the OCC. I'm not even going to talk about what I've been eating these past few weeks. I'm trying not to think about it. I'm sure I gained at least the 20 lbs pre op I initially lost back plus some, but then again, this is why I'm getting the lap band in the first place. I'm hopeful we'll get the answers we need for my new surgery date of 5/22.
  8. ((((((((((((((((Thin Girl)))))))))))))))))) I'd love to know more about the fitness bootcamp your considering! Hugs.
  9. (((((((((((((((((Bell))))))))))))))))))) It's good to meet you! I'm getting mentally ready to cut over to my pre op as well. I can't wait to hear more about your journey.
  10. ((((((((((((((pieinsky)))))))))))) I love that story! Thank you for sharing it. xo
  11. (((((((((((((((((((((((((((Smiley)))))))))))))))))))))))))))) Hugs! What an inspirational story! I'm so proud of you.
  12. ((((((((((((((Shiney)))))))))))))) and ((((((((((((((((Deanna))))))))))))))))) Sounds like we'll all be at the OCC together!
  13. (((((((((((((((((((Vicky)))))))))))))))))))))) Thanks for the tip! xo
  14. ((((((((((((Sabrina)))))))))))) I have made diet coke cakes and I've also used soda (coke) to marinate chicken. The recipies I have for soda cakes is just a can of soda and a box of cake mix. That's all. No eggs, no oil, no water... It is amazing how good they are. xo
  15. (((((((((((((((((Mona))))))))))))))) Hugs to you. Your sister has been in my thoughts. How is she doing?
  16. ((((((((((Christy)))))))))) I can totally relate hun. This time last year I was really successful with my weight loss. I tried on a size 18 bridesmaid dress and a 16. The 16 fit but it was tight. Since I was motivated and on a roll, my mom and I decided to order the 16. Well, the wedding was postponed and I ate like a pig. I haven't been banded yet...so I fell off the wagon. The dress was kind of a symbol of failure. The more I worried about it, the more I ate. Flash forward to me going to the shop for the fitting. The dress didn't fit but it was too late to order a new one. They had to take it out 4 inches on both sides. Sigh. Okay, so then I start the pre op. Yep...because my surgery was supposed to be immediately following the wedding and I go in for a fitting of the dress they added 8 inches to... And it was too big, so they had to take out 2 inches on both sides. I felt uncomfortable in the dress, the alterations were over 150 dollars but everyone else said I looked lovely. I wish I could figure out how to post a photo. The short story is...either way everything will work out and you will look amazing!
  17. (((((((((((((((((((((bjansert)))))))))))))))))))) It's so wonderful to hear of your success. I haven't had my surgery yet. Your post has me inspired. I'm worried about you mentioning you've had difficulty eating. Are you feeling better?
  18. Happy Easter and Passwover Everyone! My name is Robbyn. I'm a food addict and it's been almost a month since my last confession eh post. lol Okay...long story short. My surgery date is 5/22 at the OCC. My consultation weight was 257 with my local doctor was 257. I was initially scheduled for surgery a month ago...went through the pre op process (while away on vacation...that was a challenge) and I lost 20 lbs. So my surgery weight was 237. Well there was no surgery, I switched to the occ and I started to eat like a piglet. Then I stopped weighing. That's always a bad bad bad sign. When I stop weighing I eat double because I'm worried about what I gained by not weighing. I decided to come back to the boards yesterday because I had a personal message that turned out to be a prank but it was a good thing. I got back on the boards and decided a few minutes ago to weigh myself and face the music. I weighed after eating, after showering, after drinking water...totally when I shouldn't have but I did so that if I weighed tomorrow I'd weigh less. lol At least those are the types of games I play with myself when I have access to a scale. So...back to the longest story in the world. I did weigh today and I was 244.7. This may not be a victory to some but it's a victory to me. A 5 lb gain after a month of being on an emotional roller coaster, (more second guessing if I should have the surgery at all...another reason I've been quiet) eating like a pig and remember coming off several weeks of 400 calorie days. Phew. I consider this a victory. A huge one. I'm going to dance my happy dance now. Now that I know that having a protein drink most mornings instead of breakfast has slowed down the weight gain I feel I can get through these next two weeks without stressing about spending my pre op time just getting back to where I was on my original surgery date. Hurrah! Whoopie! I feel much better, but I'm still staying off the scale and not going to stress about a gain. That obviously worked for me in some way. Hugs.
  19. (((((((((((((((((Mona-Camille)))))))))))))))) I'm so sorry to hear about the problems your sister has had with her band. I'm also glad to hear you are positive and on track with your band and your personal journey. Hugs to you!
  20. I should also also add that to prevent me from gaining weight hand over fist while I wait for the pre op diet to start I'm trying I'm subbing breakfast with a protein drink 5 times a week.
  21. (((((((((((((((Hugs Everyone!)))))))))))))))) I have been quiet on the boards lately. I was originally scheduled for surgery in San Francisco a month ago. I lost 20 lbs pre op. I'm pretty confident I gained it all back and I have been avoiding the scale. I decided to have my surgery at the occ so now my surgery date is May 22nd. (More than two months after the original date.) I plan to do a 3 week pre op diet so I can get back to my original pre surgery weight. Beginning week 1 I'll do a version of Atkins, beginning week 2 I'll do 2 protein drinks (ISOPURE) and a frozen dinner and beginning week 3 I'll do 3 protein drinks a day. At least that's my plan so far.
  22. ((((((((((((((((((((((((Will T))))))))))))))))))))))))) Hugs to you. Thank you for your post. I have not had my surgery yet and there are times I feel scared enough to call things off. Seeing your post was good because although there have been a few issues, you don't regret your decision. I really needed to see this type of post tonight.
  23. ((((((((((((((((((((((Sarah)))))))))))))))))))) I'm so excited to hear you are expecting. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. xo
  24. (((((((((((((((((((((((Julie)))))))))))))))))))))))) Hugs. I hope you are feeling better. xo
