I have done the research and have decided to GO FOR the band! I am so excited. I wish I could do it now but I need to get a passport. I figure I will be ready in January My husband wants me to take another nurse with me in case I need a "PATIENT ADVOCATE". Is anyone else going to do it in January?

I am a 49 year old nurse who is thinking about getting a lap band. My husband has already given me the go-ahead and now I am researching everything. I was all set to make an appointment with OCC until I started reading about "PB and sliming" and started getting grossed out. I am not sure what these terms really mean and I hope someone will tell me. I hate throwing up more than anything in the world and from what I am reading, it appears that it will be a way of life. I hope someone can tell me that this isn't the case. Please advise because I am really sick of being overweight! Thanks

I'm safely back home and I feel great! My experience at OCC was nothing short of wonderful. No pain. just gas. I'm starting to get hungry now but I am committed to following the rules. I met 4 great women and I hope we can keep in touch. If anyone wants to learn more about my experience just ask me. It was GREAT!!!
