I was just gonna ask the same thing tonight and thought--hmm maybe I'll do a search first.
So laptop, massage, crystal light, broth, pj's, bathing suit, flip flops, yoga pants and cami's. Sounds like I'm ready to go!

Gosh--I can see both sides now. I'm not banded yet--this Thurs!--so these guys know more than me.
Did you hear back from the Dr?
-
Not sure I'd get it done before such a trip either. I would want to be able to enjoy everything while over there. I can see her point of wanting to be healthier--I think that's why we are all here, but to me it's not going to make that much difference.
What does the doctor say?

Booo! I hope it goes away fast!
-
That's wonderful!
-
Awesome! Are you going back for more? I'd probably wear those suckers everyday!
-
You look great! I'm also wondering what will happen to my boobs.
-
Wow! I have a lot to lose, so here's to getting a lot of weight off fast. I hope you are able to get over the plateau!

Wow! Spill the beans! I'm getting my band in Jan. What's your secret?!
-
I wondered about the same thing as well! Good to know the answer!

Great job!

Congratulations!

I'm in the same boat with the skin, but I've got stretch marks and had 2 c-sections. I totally plan on getting a tummy tuck--almost did it first before realizing I could get the lap band this way.
Along with gym work I plan on getting monthly massages. Another friend who lost a lot of weight did the massages and it really helped her skin. I'm more worried about legs and arms because I will have the surgery on the tummy area. I know massages are rather pricey, but there's a massage school right by me that is about 25% of the regular price.

Thanks. I totally had a much less stressful day. And I went to the gym for my 30 min! Yay me!

That's great! Sounds like you had a great experience and I hope for the right amount of restriction!

I said it in the other thread, but my go-to drink has always been a rum and diet coke. Guess I'll need to find something else. I'm not a vodka lover, but I guess I could learn to drink screwdrivers.

I had to move my surgery back. I'm now being banded on Jan. 14th. My kids have gone through 2 week stomach viruses that really wiped them out. My youngest is just coming around. Carolyn was very nice about moving it, but I feel awful because now there's a spot open that they were not expecting. So with the holidays and my kids being sick I was just feeling too stressed about going this weekend.
Now I'm in a great place. So Jan. 14th it is!

Good info. My choice is always a rum and diet coke. I will say that I'm not a big drinker, but it is nice to go out with the girls once a month for some kid free time.

I love forums and this one is just perfect for where I am in my life. I believe it takes a village for so many parts of our lives. I know I have a few villages. Since I'm so new to this forum I really appreciate being able to read all of the input from so many who are just starting to those who are at goal.

How does WW play into the bandster life? I've done it quite a few times. How are you able to get in enough "right" foods and still hit your points?
-
8am - Slimfast, chocolate royale
1230pm - Slimfast, strawberry
snack - handfull of baby carrotts
so far 48oz of water by 3pm
i'm starving!
-
Thanks! Your list looks great. I've printed it. I'm on 3 shakes only now and the weight is coming off, but I'm starving. Surgery is next Friday! I'm in the bathroom about every hour because of how much water I'm drinking--so much that I feel like I'll sail away! It's actually interfering with my work! :lol Dr. Miranda yelled at me to cut out my snacks, so I'm kind of a bear right now. :bag
Fiber during post-op

From what I can tell fiber isn't important and is not necessary during this stage. Maybe even should be avoided?
I'm interested to see what others have to say.
