  1. It's taking a little getting used to..... I'm used to my fills lasting 3 or 4 days, then I'd feel almost no restriction. My will power stinks, so I need the restriction to 'remind' me to stop. I was so surpried when mine kicked in almost one month to the day after my fill. Like I said before, I'm not complaining, it's exactly what I need but I just found it odd that it took so long. I see your fill took awhile to kick in too..... it is grand!!! Now I just have to quit testing it and work WITH it!
  2. So glad you're doing well.... walk and sip!! >
  3. I'm a sweater too, but I'm having hot flashes. From your age, I'd guess that wasn't your problem. Do you feel light headed or dizzy? Do you have a fever? I'd send Dr. O an email or call down to the Center. They're really good about answering real fast. Hope you feel better! Darlene
  4. Thanks Mona! I did just start back to work last week, but it's going pretty good. I was yacking again today! I made a lovely baked chicken dinner and actually got alot of it down but I must have got going a little too fast..... God, I hate to PB! :bad: I actually hope this restriction stays, it seems I'm gonna have to learn the hard way with my band, I find myself constinetly testing it. I suck. Thanks again.... I appreciate the feed back. P.S. No PMS anymore
  5. Has this happened to anyone? Got a fill and a MONTH later it kicks in??? I got up yesterday and did my morning routine.... drank my coffee blah, blah.... anyways, I went to take my meds and noticed that I was having a little trouble getting them down. I was banded in March and I've NEVER had a problem taking my meds. I've been packing myself little snacks to eat while I'm working [grapes, cherry tomatoes..] I took some baby carrots. About 10:00am I started munching on the carrots, chewing well, and they got stuck!! Only one other person know's I'm banded and thankfully it's my friend that I work with! She covered for me while I slimmed and got myself straightened around. I had fish for lunch and I ate it very slowly but I could still feel that tight feeling. I'm not complaining mind you, but has anyone gone a month before feeling a fill? My throat actually has a "lump" feeling in it this morning while I'm drinking my coffee. The great thing is that I did not feel hungry yesterday at all. I sure hope this stays with me!!!
  6. I have a kidney stone that bothers me from time to time. Doc says it's too small to worry about, so it's just kinda 'there'. It makes my lower back ache and it hurts right through to the front. Maybe you have a stone????
  7. He seems like he's a real love too!!
  8. If you haven't seen him, he's so freagen cute!! Google Yoda Cat and you can see him. I've seen kittens with 2 faces and animals born with 6 or 8 legs but never something like this!! His ears are perfect and he seems like he's a real sweetheart!!
  9. That really stinks..... I thought for sure he'd love to see all the patients that he help get back into LIVING! :lb12:
  10. That's SO GREAT Jenn!! Please post here when you put the pix on My Space, I don't go on there unless someone tells me to look at something. Tell Cassie "Hey" from the forum and a big CONGRATS!!
  11. Best wishes and have a good time in TJ..... I bet it's soooo nice there right now!!
  12. I had discomfort but no pain. Can you take Tylenol or Advil? I think that would work just as well for the discomfort. That's what I took before the plane ride home and it helped. The meds they give you at the OCC made me sleepy, so I took them before bed and rested comfortabley. You'll do fine, I promise!! >

    VERY HURT

Wow, that's a tuff one.... I do sincerely wish you all the best. I don't know you, but you sound like a strong person. You're going to do what's best for you regardless of hubby's situation. Bravo!! My prayers are with you and your family, Darlene
  14. Congrats Kimmie!! I sure hope this will be "The Fill"!! Good luck!
  15. I say "poo poo on your doctor!!" Tell him to call and talk to Dr. Ortiz if he's worried about your surgery. I'd love to be a fly on the wall for that conversasion!! I'll bet that your Doc [or the majority of Doc's who give the simple advice of "eat less\move more"] have never had a problem with their weight in their lives! That's what kills me, they dish out the advice and expect it to be SO simple but they can probably eat whatever they want and stay thin. Bastards. [OK, take a deep breath Darlene!] Anyways, bottom line,... you are doing what is right for YOU! Your Doc doesn't know YOU, how you think, feel or live. After you lose your weight, go back to "Mr. Know-it-all Doctor", [make sure you wear your sexiest outfit] do a little twirl and ask him "What do ya think now??!!" P.S. You're getting banded on my B-day!!
  16. My brother lives in Saint Martinville and I've never been down there!! I'm gonna have to go some time. Good luck on your fill!!
  17. Jessica's right, Dr. O and\or Dr. Martinez will know as soon as "they cut her open" because the fat around her liver WILL have shrunk due to her excellent job of pre-surgery dieting!! You are doing great Jessica and don't let Dr. Miranda get to you!!
  18. Good luck!! Hope for good restriction!
  19. I know that when I started reading this forum over a year ago, I felt the same way. I was trying to learn everything I could and find a good Doc [no one in the States would do my surgery.] I wasn't scared at all when I went to have my surgery, a little nervous, but not scared. I went to TJ by myself and it was awesome! I met alot of great people, shopped and had a good time. Any Newbies out there, this is the place to be and Dr. O and Dr. M are the doctors to see!!
  20. I absolutely HATE pb\slimming!! If I do it around my daughter, she's like "Oh my God Mom, are you gonna get sick?!!" "I can't stand that, I have to turn my head!!" [We were in the car.] I don't do it very often, but it sucks, big time!
  21. Ahhhh..... size 12.... those were the days! P.S. I took a look at the pix and they're great!
  22. You look great Kimmie!! That outfit looks so good on you!
  23. It sounds like Dr. Miranda was having a bad day and was being a little bitchy with you! I sincerely feel that Dr. O will be happy with your progress and your surgery will go fine. You SHOULD be proud of your progress because you HAVE done a wonderful job! Chin up honey, awesome job!! =D> =D> =D>
  24. I had responded to that post.... I was told by Dr. Miranda not to worry about losing weight after surgery and before the first fill because that was a time to heal. She said that if I did lose that it was just gravy. That's why I didn't understand why Dr. O gave her a hard time?? I think I lost a couple pounds, but not much and no one said a word. I was told that after my fill the weight would start comming off..... I'd love it if I'd find that damned sweet spot!
  25. Thanks for the praise everyone, you don't know how much it's appreciated!! Today we ran roasted almonds all day, so that wasn't too bad. I did eat about a dozen of those [without chocolate] but last season I would have ate fist full after fist full. My boss said that tomorrow's cashews [i LOVE them!] but I know I won't crack!! We'll be running another one of my absolute favorites next week.... our chef makes carmal popcorn from scratch and we run it through a drizzle of chocolate, OMG!! I'll need to duct tape my mouth shut that day!!
