  1. Monday was my first day back to work, I've been laid off since March 10th. [i was banded March 25th] In the 2 years I worked there I've gained over 50lbs. We are allowed to eat whatever we want while we're on the work floor [we can't take any to the break room or home.] I took advantage of the privilage, let me tell ya!! My first day back we ran Carmeltaways [which is hand made, poured and cut carmel.] I have to put rows and rows of this on the line to be covered first in peanut butter then in a layer of chocolate. This is my favorite, I would shove this plain carmel in my face till I was about sick! I turned it down!! I did not eat ONE piece!! I surprised myself, last season I would have never went without eating it! We have since ran salty pretzel rods and twists, potato chips, turtles, gummie bears and assorted creams. I haven't eaten any of it.... really don't have any desire to!! This was a big concern for me, I thought for sure I'd buckle when I went back to work. No matter the temptation, WE CAN DO THIS!!
  2. I'm so sorry Sasha!! I didn't realize that this could happen! I sure hope you feel better soon and on your way to recovery. Bless your heart, best wishes, Darlene
  3. I was never told to sleep on my back either??? I sleep on my sides and have since surgery.
  4. I was told those first weeks after surgery were to heal, not to lose weight??? I was told by Dr. Miranda not to worry about weight loss then, it wasn't until after your fill that the real weight loss begins. Any weight loss after surgery\before fill was just gravy....Hmmmm
  5. I've had 2 fills and they each gave me good restriction for about a week. I have days when I can eat bread, steak or pizza and there are day's I can't. I don't know why, it changes from day to day.
  6. I took my license and my birth certificate and it was enough. My name isn't the same on my bc either, they just look at it real quick and send you on your way. I think they're more interested in your photo ID. [i don't have a pass port either.] No worries!! >
  7. I was banded at the OCC also..... no shaving, just a stomach covered in orange-brown iodine. I guess all centers\hospitals handle things differently??? Best wishes, Darlene
  8. Awesome Kathy!!! You should be so proud!! There's nothing worse than rub-rash thighs!! :lb12: Let's see those pix!! =D>
  9. Best wishes to both of you!! Make sure you take Dramamine on the plane ride home [i get airsick too :bad: ] I was at the OCC last month and SO enjoyed the pool at the Lucerna and the tortillia soup at the lobby resturant. Have fun and enjoy... Cujo will be fine!
  10. OMG!!!! I'd hate to make an enemy out of this woman!! She's vicious...... it's SO cool!!!
  11. Julie, When I got my first fill at the OCC, Dr. Romero said that if I HAD to drink after I ate, he'd like that I waited an hour BUT I could drink small amounts after 15 minutes. He said to wait at least half an hour before drinking larger amounts. I'm a big time water\ice tea drinker and have alot of trouble waiting the full hour. I get a spliting headache when I start to get dehydrated, so I'm pretty much a constant sipper. I don't drink while I'm eating [it took me awhile to break that habit!] but I do start sipping 15 mins after. Hope you feel better soon!! Darlene
  12. Since you were banded only a week ago I'd say it's just normal gas\healing discomfort. But like Sandy said, if it's really bothersome, call or email the OCC, they'll get right back to you. I had more of the shoulder\collarbone area pain or discomfort. I found if I drank or ate cold things, it hurt more. See if sipping hot tea, coffee or broth soothes it any. I hope you feel better soon!! Darlene
  13. Mine is also fickle.... comes and goes. I ate chicken and broc. w\rice the other day and it went down with NO problem. Today I made steak on the grill [very tender] and it got stuck on the 2nd bite. I gave up on it and ate my brussel sprouts w\cheese. I had steak about 10 days ago and had no problem. I never know until I swallow a bite or two if my band's tight or loose.
  14. I had my surgery on Tues. and flew home on Thurs. and felt fine. The gas was a little uncomfortable, I took gas x and it helped some. I do recommend the Phayzime though, I think it works better. Best wishes, Darlene
  15. But Michelle, your arms ARE changing!! Just look closely at your pix, your arms are looking great!! {all of you is looking great!!}
  16. Congrats Michelle..... SIZE 8.... OMG!!! You look great!!!
  17. You look gorgeous!!! Congrats Honey, you deserve it!! P.S. Tell Hubby Happy B-day from us!!
  18. I agree Paula, I have that same problem..... I call it "the shoveling syndrome".... I'm so used to shoveling in my food and the band makes me realize that those days are over!! As soon as I feel that little pressure feeling in my chest\throat, I stop and wait. Live and learn, huh??!!
  19. Good luck and fingers crossed!! Are you going back to the OCC?
  20. Congrats on a great fill!! Wow, he gave you a REALLY GREAT first fill!!! I have 2 fills and have 2.6. The OCC doesn't give numb shots before the fill, they do such a good job that you don't need it! You'd feel a stick from the numb shot anyways,.... so you just get the one stick. They are good though, aren't they??!! Congrats again, I hope this is a good one for you!
  21. Thanks for posting that Jenn, very interesting and so true! I have often questioned what was the matter with my "full button". I think it never formed because I've had a weight problem since childhood. I don't feel like I'm alone anymore, this forum and everyone on it are struggling with the "food demons". Thanks again Jenn! All our best to you and Cassie, (((((HUGS))))) Darlene
  22. I taped it and watched it again too!! I watched the first airing, it was about 6 weeks before my surgery. I can't get over how beautiful Cassie is ...... looks like she takes after her Mom! Hope everyone gets to watch it!
