  1. Hello and Welcome!! Most of the folks on this forum are patients of the OCC and Dr's Ortiz and Martinez operating in Tijuana, Mexico. Therefore, most of us are not going to the office as much as one might if their doctor was local. Having said that, you'll be hard-pressed to find anyone on here that isn't totally in love with them!! They and their staff are super people that really care and are very interested in everybody succeeding in their weigh loss journey. Good luck to you as you start this. You will find many friends here!
  2. Hey Dawn-- I think the only way to know for certain if the band has slipped is for them to do the fluoroscopy to visually check. I think you are right to have some of the fill removed. When in doubt, call the OCC/Dr Ortiz. That will help you know what to do for sure. Hope you are feeling better soon.
  3. Hey gang! When I had my TT consult back in August, the PS told me I would have a "pain pump" for approx. 5 days. Has anyone had this for tummy tuck? Did it help?
  4. Yay! You have a super outlook on everything. I hope your Hawaii trip was a blast!!
  5. Yay for you! Glad your back on the road to nourishment. (I love the "attitude" in your skinny pic--go girl!)
  6. Angie and Simone-- Hope you guys feel better soon. :bye:
  7. There are rude and nosey people everywhere, aren't there? I agree, the best response is to go back to work Monday in your hottest outfit yet! Let them eat their hearts out!!
  8. You are freakin' hilarious!!
  9. You're amazing!!
  10. Viewed your pictures--just beautiful! (love your hair, too!! )
  11. Hey Holly! Please please please let us know how you make out! Dr Caloca is a doctor I am considering for early next year. Congratulations! So excited for you!!
  12. I had it done last May--Love it! Couldn't see your photos just yet..
  13. Agreed--it is not worth having this tool if it is not working for you.
  14. Are you having the port moved or placed deeper? From a medical standpoint, there is always risk of infection everytime the skin is broken. Not to worry--you're gonna do awesome!! Congratulations on your weight loss!
  15. Hey Carrie! Is that not the miracle of this tool we have?! At least we can regain control before it gets to the point of a 30-40 pound gain. One thing that continually amazes me is that even when I seemed stalled in my weight loss, I can at least maintain my weight until the losing starts again. In the past, I could maintain weight loss for approximately 30 seconds, my bad habits would kick back in, and I would not get control back at all. You were good to take action right away--let the losing begin!!
  16. Did something happen at Recovery by the Sea? I had only heard good things about the care there.
  17. Hey Lisa!! Congratulations on your 3-year "bandversary"! You are an amazing inspiration. You live your life in a truly positive way. You may never know how many folks you have positively influenced, not only in ways directly related to the lapband and weightloss (the photos in your gallery are so compelling), but in the ways that you encourage and educate people. Thank you for sticking with this forum and lending your voice to the many issues that come up here. You are truly a blessing!
  18. Hey jb! Please don't think that a lack of a reply is directly related to anyone not caring--especially on this forum. There are many knowledgible folks on here, and this forum has many more super nice people who know alot about the band and the surgery process. I hope you are able to keep your surgery date. It sounds like our little Angie is the girl to talk to.
  19. Sorry, Nicole. Be well little lady.
  20. Have a safe trip, Lisa! And have a total BLAST with your sissies!! (Everyone would love to meet you--and Pammie--maybe you guys could go "on tour" or something. )
  21. Hey Abbe! I wouldn't count on the band to help you limit alcohol consumption. Like CindyLou and Pammie said in previous posts--it is better to get the alcohol monkey off one's back first. Unless someone felt they had an alcohol problem, it sounds like it is completely doable to enjoy alcohol in a moderate way--follow what Lisa does.
  22. Never been as good of a drinker as I am a sleeper--haha. If you seriously have trouble falling asleep, you could try this. Near bedtime, take a short brisk walk, (or go up and down the stairs for a few minutes), then take two of the calcium chews like Viactiv and hop into bed. Also, if you have a place like Whole Foods near you, the capsule called "Ornithine" is also a good natural relaxant. Hope this helps you!
  23. Hey everybody! I you ever wanted to know how they perform some of the plastic surgery procedures that are out there, but can't handle viewing the "real thing", here is a really cool link to a website that animates them for you. http://www.plasticsurgery.org/Patients_and...Animations.html
  24. Hey Lena! Can I ask you--when you get these quoted figures, do they tell you how long they are good for? My local PS office compiled for me a full 4-page estimate of the different things we talked about and what the charges would be with certain procedures done together. I was just wondering if a certain amount of time goes by before you can make the trip to get the surgery, does the estimate "expire"? Just curious how that works.
  25. Thanks for posting on this you guys! My daughter is a Gatorade-aholic and I get worried about the sugar that it has in it. She's tried the Special K water, but I think I'm going to get this for her. There is a coupon on the Isopure Plus web site for $1.00 off. CVS appears to be about the cheapest, but it said "online only", so it sounds like you can't go to CVS and get it. Here is the link to the coupon: http://www.isopureplus.com/join_the_revolution.html Thanks again for letting us all know about this.
