  1. Everyone is right. We have this done and think bingo-bango the weight should just fall off. Not so for the norm. It does take fill after fill to really feel the effects of this band. I went a month and only lost about 4 pounds. Be sure you have a good fill Dr. who will work with you, we're all different here. Your Dr. needs to know you are trying to work very hard with your band, so he can adjust you to the point you can feel this thing working. I just got my 4th fill ( I haven't put this info on my signature yet) and I am at 2.8 cc in a 4 cc band. It's pretty tight. But I needed it. I said I, not everyone who reads this, just me. I will see how this works and go from there. I too was very discouraged, but you gotta pick yourself up here and do the right things as much as possible. good luck, reneej
  2. wow calicat, you are much more of a rider than me. I just ride for about an hour 4-5 times a week and not up too many hills. I am soooooooooo out of shape. I usually end up walking up the few hills I have. I know that too will improve. I am still looking for the magic answer here. I am going on vacation for like 12 days to the beach, can't wait, but the bike will stay at home. I will do my best to walk in the mornings when it's cooler. thanks everyone!
  3. That's awesome P, I wish we had a facility near us. The closest is about 45 min. away and about $25.00 a trip Keep us all posted, sounds like a need for a new bathing suit to me! keep it up reneej
  4. > Thanks to all, I knew I would get good info. and lots of support. I think I may not be eating enough throughout the day. It just seems that this is just as tough now as preband times. I am still interested in everyone's thoughts. Keep those cards and letters coming. As for Will T and Dawnie, I want to order the same mirror you guys are looking into. You're both hottie's to me. love ya, Reneej
  5. Thanks for your reply, your picture looks as if you are 30, you look great. I agree with everything you said. It's really hard to stay away from the scales. Maybe more fiber, sometimes I end up eating a granola for lunch, so maybe I'm not eating enough, lean cuisine sounds good. I just really want to feel that, "I am stopping here" feeling. thanks, Reneej
  6. Ok you can see my stats below. I seem to be stuck, what can be the problem? So if you're losing, please share what it is your doing since you've been banded. I have been riding my bike about 1 hour a day, 4-5 days a week. It's not a pretty picture but I do it anyway. I really would like to be losing a few pounds a week, sometimes I don't have any restriction..... ARGHHHHHHHHHH, reneej
  7. Hey, Neeter, You look so good, wish we were closer, I would love to get together and celebrate! Do it like a rock star, reneej
  8. My first fill was also done in TJ and I was also told I had 1.8 cc. It didn't seem like anything as far as restriction goes. I had my second fill in Murfreesboro, tn and when he took out what was in my band it came to only be 1.6 cc. I was a bit dissappointed. I have my 3rd fill scheduled again in Tn. I hope he gets really aggressive. I am some what discouraged.
  9. I did have zoom w. done the day after being banded. It was $300 I think. My teeth looked great for a while and then I was not too impressed. Noone at home seemed to notice either. My teeth were sensitive for a few days, but very bearable. I would do it on a fill date so you could be more alert as to what was going on . I really don't regret it, but if you really don't have the extra money, I would wait. It has been almost 3 months now and I can't even tell it was done renee j
  10. I have had 2 fills and I am not there yet, but the nurse gave me a great example. She said, you have to go slow...it's like trying on shoes. You can only wear that size that's comfortable. Too much in our case is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much and in shoes, too small is waaaaaaaaaaaaay too small. Made a lot of sense to me. reneej
  11. Good luck on all your fills. I got my2nd fill yesterday. I went fine. When he took out what I was filled in TJ, it only measured 1.6 cc. I was told I had 1.8 cc. He explained that you can lose some when they take the needle out. He added .4 cc, which brought me to an even 2.0cc. Then I went to eat lunch and had chicken wings with no trouble . I went back to his office to let him know. He got called to the hospital, so he wasn't in. His nurse spoke to him about me. So, I told her I didn't care if she did it. (she had done them before) She and another nurse/aid gave me another .2 cc. So now I am at 2.2 cc. feels pretty good, I think. I will miss seeing you all :-h :-h :-h reneej
  12. missed you nita, it was fun, always next Mon.
  13. Hey dream, Mon night was fun, I have the smaller band, but it seems like with what I have read, that the 10cc band, people have been hovering around 5cc or a little more. why don't you start a thread to ask what the average fill/sweet spot is for your band. Don't forget, just because we want an aggressive fill, we don't always get it. I am going for my second fill in Tn. I hope I can develop a good repore with this Dr. so we can work together on optimal weight loss. c'ya
  14. Looookin Goooood Michelle, but I'm not sure who's cuter, you or your son! keep it up,
  15. I tried to log in with what chatzy emailed me and it won't work. Anyone have any suggestions? reneej
  16. > Hi gang, please post the specifics on this chat, so I can hook up too. I MISS YOU ALL SO MUCH! reneej
  17. OMG, I can't believe it's already time for you to eat. that's awesome. I just took it slow and easy. I still had a shake for breakfast and I think I had soup, not just creamy for lunch and an easy supper, like baked fish, green beans and cream potatoes. I didn't eat but about 1/2 of what I would have normally eaten. What ever you decide make it simple and make it work for you. I am so glad your doing so well and I love the pictures, especially the one with dr. O. =D> reneej
  18. That would be awesome, Dawn. 1st office visit $100 adjustment/fill $250 fill w/ fluro use $367 so the first visit would cost either $350 or $467 if you need the fluro. if you need to be adjusted from your fill with in 30 days, either more or less, there is no charge. second fill $250 my appointment is on Tues. June 17 at 10:30 am , I'll probably be there about 10:00. his number is 615-867-1940 You will have to have your records from Dr. Ortiz. If you don't have them, call Claudia and have her send them asap or fax them to you. I ordered mine when we were all there in may. I just got them about a week ago. I really need another fill, I have no restriction at all. and I am not losing anything Let me know, sounds like fun, reneej
  19. I have had to schedule an appointment in Murfreesboro Tn. for my second fill. Just don't have the time to go to TJ. He has good prices, but doesn't use a fluro unless absolutely neccesary. Does anyone else know of a Dr. close to Nashville? reneej
  20. I am so glad to see everyone and their issues. It really proves how different we are eventhough we're all trying to attain the same thing. On one hand it's great to see people losing weight consistently and on the other it's hard to see people losing weight consistently. We're all familiar with the later or we wouldn't be on this forum. So toot your horn, but not too loudly, the noise could end up hurting someone else. be nice, reneej
  21. I think while we are in the considering stage of being banded, we don't stop to think about after we are banded. I don't even think I was aware of a "sweet spot". My first fill was 1.8 cc. what restriction I had for the first 5 days has long gone. The only restriction I can vouch for is if I don't chew my food up enough and /or eat too fast. I too want another fill, it will be 3 weeks since my first fill. You can't help but wonder about the time, effort and money we have all spent. So don't feel quilty about what you have to do about leaving to get your fill, remember, you and I and all of us are a work in progress. lots of love to you, having older parents is hard sometimes. reneej
  22. Are you taking a liquid multivitamin? Try a little broccoli and cheese campbells soup, maybe try eating a little bit more often. the purpose is not to starve yourself. look into some fudgesicles too. It sounds like you may not be eating enough. A good liquid vitamin can help too. I use Liquid Source of Life, you can get at a health food/herb store. hope you feel better soon :-? reneej
  23. you have done so well, the hard work really shows. what an inspiration, keep it up, reneej
  24. I thought you may want to use this journal for a 5 day weight loss event. http://www.5daypouchtest.com/tools/PouchTestJournal.pdf reneej >
