  1. Still waiting to hear from the girls banded on MOn. Where are you? Hope your doing well. We're trying to get a date we can get our first fill, so please reply if your interested! > Reneej
  2. Today, day 5, we went out to eat. I ordered some soup and asked them to puree it. I think the waitress didn't know what I was talking about. I asked did they have a blender or a food processor? Well, of course not. So, I got potatoe soup and asked them to leave out as much stuff as they could. I picked around it and chewed, chewed, chewed those tiny little pieces of potatoe. I was a little afraid. I did notice reaching for my water a few times, then remembered Dr. Miranda saying, "Don't drink while you eat". So I caught myself. It was very tasty and I only ate half and brought have home for later. That would have never happened before. I seemed to have tolerated it very well, we'll see. It's been about an hour since I ate. Please be careful with those noodles. They say pasta is very sticky. I would hate to get something stuck. Talk w/ you soon. Renee
  3. You go girl! You know a 1X is usually a size 16, so try some of those too. You may be really surprised.
  4. I had it done this past Tues. I definitley whitened my teeth, probably by about 3-4 shades. I drink coffee regularly. My teeth were pretty sensitive for about a day and a half. I have used brite smile by my dentist before and it made my teeth very sensitive for a long long time. Now I really don't have any sensitivity. As far as the cost, it was $250. I was told $200 by Carolyn, pt. coordinator. I got banded on mon, then tues, about 9:00 I had the zoom done. Hope this helps you out >
  5. > traveling is a breeze, try to walk around as much as possible, have your pain pills and gas-x strips and use them! the pain pills don't really knock you out, but do help you relax. Yes there is a computor at the hotel and at the hospital, both are on line. so let us know about your experience. mine was great, was banded last mon, 4-7. dr ortiz is so hot and friendly. his staff including mama ortiz is just great. I didn't encounter any problems. and made some life long friends. enjoy it all.
  6. glad you all are home safe and sound. i can't believe you are eating what you're eating, no bp'ing for me. all i have had is clear liquids and some liquid yogurt. But will get some other things soon. don't rush it! we certainly don't want any slippage! I was getting a little concerned when we didn't hear from you . Did the Am.airline issue cause you any travel delays? Tell Susan and Andrew Hi and hope to keep in touch with you all. renee & darryl
  7. hey, doolittle, can you tell me why the time is so messed up on these posts? What time is it actually supposed to be? Sometimes the days are goofy.
  8. Just banded Mon 4-7. right now for me a reward is a BIG BURP! =D> I know you know what I mean. Just looking for some pounds lost at this point. i will try to weigh in the next day or so. stay tuned!
  9. hey andrea, glad to hear from you, today i am feeling pretty bloated, but i did go to my office and sit at a desk for about 2 hours. some of us are talking about going back to tj to get our 6 weeks fill around memorial day, i really don't want to travel on a holiday weekend so maybe the next weekend. i am sure we will all stay in touch through the forum, so don't be a stranger! have you heard from anyone else? keep up the great job! renee
  10. Haven't heard from you and was wondering how you are? How did you like OCC? We all seemed to have had a good experience. Give us a big'ol post. and let us know how it went.
  11. > You go girl, let the games begin. We all know you'll do great! ONly good things ahead now!
  12. It was all good. I have never had surgery before so this was a real tough decision. I remained very calm and went through all the steps when we got there(seeing the dentist, respiratory, ekg, nutritionist). So then I am thinking when do i get my blood work? Then they called me and my husband back. I see my bed with a gown and stockings on it. They tell me to change and at that point i say i haven't had my blood work. Then they do that, start my iv and give me 2 sublingual pills. 1 to make me not get nauseas and 1 , a chill pill. I do not remember even going to the operating room. While in there i do remember the anesthiologist asking me was i sleepy? then next thing i knew, i am back in my bed and feeling pretty darn good. Got up and walked around, went to the bathroom and when i got back to my bed, they gave me a popsicle. felt like a kid again for doing a good job. hope this helps you out, recovery has been very easy.
  13. > How's everyone feeling?, I am doing just fine, was a bit tired when we finally got home. I feel like you are all my forever friends, we've got to stay in touch. I want to know all your ups and downs and any brick walls you hit! Maybe next year we can get together! Looking forward to hearing from you all
  14. I am so glad to hear how your fill went. I was just banded on Mon 4-7, so as you know, the next big step is the first fill. What did they charge you for your fill? It really sounds like a relaxing experience. Please let me know, I hope to go with a fellow bandster!
  15. Yes, i took some chicken broth, it felt very very good going down. I did eat some jello after being banded that came from the hotel, it was about $3. and i couldn't eat all of it. Just take a look at what was posted about Dr. Miranda's post op list. That way you'll have a variety of things for your hubby. I got banded Mon 4-7, and i feel great! Just drinking and eating jello! Now when my husband ate a big ol hamburger and fries in front of me eating my jello. The smell was sickening, so be careful!
  16. Just got back last night and doing great. Your husband is going to love Dr. Miranda's scales. I thought I had only lost 11 pounds preop, but turned out to be 15. He's going to do great and have a very enjoyable experience. I can't believe I got banded and haven't had anything but liquids. I am not even hungry. Ya'll have a great trip and if you want some authentic mexican food, walk down the street to the Cantina and Restaurant. Like a sports bar/restaurant. and order the table grill. very, very good! One last good me.
  17. feeling really good, sure would like to burp everything went wellbut am very sleepy.
  18. > thanks to you all, you're words mean so much. still a little sore but making it just fine. still very sleepy
  19. that's great, and when you get here i think you will like dr mirandas scales, i am here now and am offically post op her scales said i have lost 4 more # for a total of 15, pre op.
  20. =D> well, it's just been a few hours ago, we are all doing well, walking around, eating popsicles, drinking juice and using there computors and there phones that call the US for free. the center is awesome. dr ortiz is just way too sexy, and has a great bedside manor. it has seemed a little like a long day, but they all do to me here because we are 2 hours ahead of tj time. beginning to feel like something is in the belly now, it is probably the port because of where it is attacked, it kind of tugs, but definitly no pain. i will have my zoom whitening done in the morning before i check out.. if you haven't heard about the mexican victoria secret panties,.....well......i just let you see them for yourself. they are like a paper thong. #-o the occ is everything i have read about, the people, the facility, the physical expectations and all. i don't think anyone will be dissappointed. come on down. they also have a plastic surgeon that can do a lot of things too. I'm thinking boob job down the road lol
  21. hey red, i was just banded a few hours ago. her occ. soooo easy. dr ortiz is sooooo hot. when we got hear this am, we went through all the channell: dentist did her exam, then the pulonary/heart/ekg, dr did his thing. then the nutritionist went over several things with me. You know, all the do and don'ts then she measured my height and weight. you're going to like her scales. i thought i had lost 11 pounds and eventhough i ate some fantastic mexican food twice, i thought i was doomed. however, i had lost 4 more #, so pre op weight i had lost 15#. there was one lady who had only lost 1/2 of required weight. they still did everything. right now, i have done some walking eaten a few popsicles, drank some juice and all i fill is a fullness like i ate a large something and it is stuck in my gut. no pain here. one girl even went back to the hotel not long ago. i can say i really did not know much about the operating room. but don't worry about a thing down here... talk with you soon, reneej >
  22. i will also be getting the zoom whitening. may as well, they say it takes about an hour. i think i will start packing tonight!
  23. so how does it look? was it worth doing? :-?
  24. I will be banded early mon april 7, i am supposed to have the zoom whitening done that same day. has anyone else had this done. i was able to save on my room cost by not getting a private room, so i used the extra$ for the zoom whitening. please give me the details if you've done this.
  25. Im so excited! i will be banded mon april 7 by dr ortiz. we're going down on sat. to enjoy a few days of r & r. and i think to say goodbye to the old me. i really do feel like i will be losing more than weight. i really want to say goodbye to my old eating habits and exercise habits and all the things that kept me from losing weight. this is truely a new beginning for me, both physically, mentally and spiritually. noone but my husband knows about this, i guess i am a little ashamed, i don't know. i will be telling my friends about it as soon as it's over and the weight starts coming off. if you're going to be banded april 7, let me know!
