  1. I thought this deserved another look for everyone. It's more of a 5 day kick start for your new and improved tummy. I think this could be a good regimen for those who plateau easily... Has anyone tried this? I think I will definitly try before my second fill anyway. See what you think. http://www.5daypouchtest.com/plan/theplan.html reneej
  2. I usually have a shake for breakfast (spirutein), either a healthy choice dinner for lunch or a salad and a sensible supper. I don't eat but probably 1/2 of what I used to eat at supper now. I will have to try to be more active. I hate to call it exercise. Lisal, that sounds like a lot of food to me for 1 day. Well maybe not since it's only 1/4 cup of each. Dawn, when Lynn and I went back for our first fill, it was $200. per person and we shared our room at the Lucerna in TJ. Of course $100. of that each was for the fluro. We stayed 2 nights at the Lucerna and paid about $95. for the extra night ourselves. Some people like to stay in San Diego and take the trolley/train down to the border and a taxi to the occ. But you will still have the $100. cost for the fluro. reneej
  3. Carolyn, my pt. coord., gave me the name of Dr. Westmoreland in Murphesboro, TN. He has some good prices and he is close to me. Well, about 3 hours anyway. I live in NW Al. He will use a fluro if needed, but you have to go to the Hospital to use it and of course, that costs extra? Would love to know if anyone has ever used him, or does anyone know of anyone who has, and what was their experience there? reneej
  4. OK< I had my first fill 5/16 and had little restriction. I thought I had a good fill, recieved 1.8 cc. The only thing I have really noticed is that I have to be carefull how fast I eat and how much I chew meats. :lb12: I really haven't had any more weight loss since I did the 3 days of liquids when I had my first fill. Shouldn't I have lost a pound or two? I don't really get hungry until about 4:00 pm. So I try to grab a sensible snack so I don't try to inhale my supper. Arghhhh! What to do? What to do? info needed from the experienced and knowlegable, reneej
  5. The paper thong is the fashion statement of the day for surgery...it is literaly a paper thong! It's quite attractive...not. Congrats to those new bandsters! =D> enjoy, you'll be fine reneej
  6. So, mistyband what's it like now? It doesn't sound like you are too comfortable. Is the band controlling the amount you eat now? Are you having any trouble? If so, what kind? reneej
  7. How long has everyone been waiting till their 2nd fill. I had my first fill on 5-16 and can still eat anything as long as I eat it slowly and chew it well. I don't really get a full feeling and only had a couple of pb'ing episodes because I was eating too fast. Not real impressed with what I am seeing yet and the weight loss has not been good... INFO NEEDED reneej
  8. So sorry I missed it, I knew I would with the holiday and such...sounds like a great time. For thos of us who tend to forget, will someone please throw out a reminder maybe Sunday? thanks, reneej
  9. thanks for the info. i had my first fill on 5/16, 1.8 cc. i really haven't had that much restriction, especially if i eat slow and chew well. i am not losing any more weight and i am getting discouraged as well. i hope that i can get on some regular losing schedule soon. i know i have reduced the amount i am eating. i have a shake for breakfast, either a granola bar or healthy choice dinner for lunch and a regular supper, but obviously a smaller amount. any suggestions? Wow Snowbird, you are so close to your goal, that's fantastic! reneej
  10. Well today was a first for me. I got really upset (p'off) with my 19 year old son and I was trying to eat, obviously not paying any attention to eating and the pain hit my back shoulder blade. Wow and then I pb'd. Ewwwwwwwwwwww. Gross. So I resorted to soup for lunch after that. reneej
  11. I can't wait to join in the chats! I am sure there will be a lot of people missing this Mon. due to the holiday. But will talk to you all real soon! reneej >
  12. Cool, Atlanta is 4 hours from me...sounds like a road trip =D> reneej
  13. So it sounds like to me, the minute your chewed food hits that new stomach, you know it. Well I don't. As a matter of fact I am not sure I have ever felt it. What's up with that. Hey anita, you and dr. o were made for each other! especially in that picture! reneej
  14. It's true, girl, no problem with food. I can't say I have over eaten, but I just quit when I know I need to mentally. I am satisfied, but not bloated or burping or anything. I am just so used to hearing everyone talk about their problems. I think my steak dinner was indeed a smaller amount than before I was banded. I think Michelle said once that it didn't really kick in for her for a few days. Well, it's been a few days. It will be a real test this "holiday cook out" weekend. I may be heading for another fill sooner than I was wanting to also. Where is Roswell, what's it near? Maybe we can meet for a fill weekend! Let me know how ya'll are all doing. It looks like Lynna is kicking the scales pretty darn good =D> You go girl! reneej
  15. Ok, I know it's only been 5 days, but I still have no discomfort, reflux or any sign of pb'ing. Last night I ate some roasted peanuts, about 6 oz. of steak, and a small sweet potato and a small roll. No problem. I was very satisfied, not stuffed and I didn't eat anymore that evening. Now I had a shake for breakfast and a granola bar for lunch so I don't know what's up. I would have thought that supper would have been too much. I am a meat eater and the steak was cooked to perfection, so, what do ya'll think? Will I get more restriction? reneej
  16. We weren't able to watch it live, so the dvr was set...and when Ryan Seacrest said, "the winner is david..."Our @#$%^&* dvr ended the recording We were freaking, thank goodness for the internet and youtube, etc. But, all is good, congrats DC. I am sure we will see him again real soon. reneej
  17. That was so much fun, the picture turned out great, we'll all have to meet again and take another picture. I managed to lose 3 more pounds over that weekend. I was there for my first fill, 1.8cc. So, when you plateau, try a little 3 day liquid fast! reneej
  18. Thanks for the stats, you're doing great and so glad to hear your fill went so well. I will try to get some TJ pictures to you, it was a lot of fun and we missed you and your family. I am down 22# as of last Mon. Weighing everyday was not working for me, so I am trying to skip several days between weigh ins. Maybe we can get together during the summer somewhere. AND STAY ON TRACK AND KEEP POSTING! It's awesome that we can keep up with each other this way. reneej give my best to your family!
  19. > Hi there all. Is it just me or am I the only one who had such a good time? So much fun around the pool. And those dinners at the Yellow Cantina. So many different soups to choose from. It was so good to see Sue and Lisa, what a surprise to walk into the occ and see you there. And to meet Evette and Michelle, Pat and her sis, Kimra, Anita, and all the others. I am getting myself confused with our real names vs our forum names. Forgive, I know not what I do sometimes And to roommy, with my forever band bud, Lynn. I hope everyone is doing great, I do have restriction from my first fill. I am learning how to recognize it. Sometimes I have to wait after each bite to see if that was really my last bite. It's all good for now. Let me hear from you all and how you're doing. I miss you all, :-h reneej
  20. WHAT? I had no idea there was a chat going on. You've got to tell me more....what all was discussed. And those hours, we have got to start earlier. By 9:00 central time I am out of it, well not really, but it doesn't leave time to chat. Please somebody post the next chat a few days sooner with all the details. thanks, reneej
  21. yeh kimra, missed u at the cantina, soup was awesome and friends were even better. reneej
  22. thanks everyone, I just had a mango margarita and a bowl of some type of beefy, spicy soup. Pure liquids. =D> I could not even eat my whole bowl of soup, yeh! of course that was after the margarita, which was delish! I hope this continues. and I hope others will post there progress as well. nighty night, reneej
  23. Hey to all, got my first fill yesterday about 1:00. I am a little freaked about needles so I asked Dr. romero to not show me the needle, so he asked how I was doing and I told him, "I can eat anything I want , as much as I want." his response was, "not anymore!" He then turned on the fluroscopy and low and behold, there it was. Wow, how cool was that, everything was just fine. I told him to fill'r up!. He was also so kind to show me my underwire in my bra Looked like 2 big ole smiley faces. And about that time he pinched up a small amount of skin and boink! the needle was in and the fluro indicated it was a bullseye! It was so fast it did not hurt at all, did you hear me, not at all. Then I was asked to drink a sip of water, then the yummo barium and it was so cool you could see it shoot write through there. So at that point he put in 1.8 cc into my 4cc band. Down went a little more barium and it was amazing how slow it went through my new tummy. And it must go through or you would be too tight. Now I am back on 3 days of liquids. I asked dr. r if that meant margaritas? He politely said yes it did. WooHoo, margaritas for lunch. I hope this restriction continues to be more and more as the days go by so I truely won't eat much. So get your fill at OCC and stay at the Lucerna, they have an awesome cream of spinach soup that tastes like spinach dip! I am not much on plain broths. And I so enjoyed being back with my banded buddy, Lynna and seeing and meeting others there. I dedicate this post to my loving Hubby, who has been waiting for me to post something...Love you D. reneej
