OK,so what I was told was, it was just a big yellow box. No pool, but close to the occ. I met someone who was there and only stayed 1 night before they moved to the Lucerna. I am here for my fill and I am staying at the Lucerna. I would not call it construction, more like a remodel of rooms from what I can tell. You can probably call Rene at the OCC and he will move your reservation to the Lucerna. It is a really nice, quaint hotel and the staff is wonderful. I had a great experience there. Ok, great. If we are just going to hang out at the pool and not go out to eat prior, I think we should meet about 6:30 OR 7:00. That way those who can get a bite will have time to and we can still enjoy plenty of time around the pool. Remember it doesn't get dark there till about 9:00 or so. I know I will be on liquids that night. I hope with lots of restriction. There is a great place to eat about 4 blocks down. Kinda like a sports bar, cantina, very festive and fun place to eat. It's a bright yellow building. And the food is excellent, they have English menus and will take dollars. There's always Sat. night to plan a night out, so maybe hanging out by the pool is a great idea. We still need everyone to let us know if you can make it. If you're not on the list, just drop us a reply, so we don't miss anyone. Shopping needs to be done in the daytime, so we can go from there. reneej

Girl, have you seen how they drive in TJ? I don't think I could compete with their drivers...be very careful. You can take a taxi anywhere in the city for $5.00 one way. I know a lot of people changed there mind on getting a car. We will hook up or I'll leave a message for you in your room. Reneej

There is room for all who want to meet. My flight too is coming in about 10:30 am on fri. But I believe I am going straight to the clinic. My fill is scheduled for Fri at 11:30. Why does it matter to the Drs. where the meeting is? Do they not fly?, Lord knows we have crunched our schedules enough to be where we could get to them. And flown from all over. I would love to meet somewhere. They could write off the trip anyway. Or do they do that in Mexico? Both Vegas and San Diego would be awesome. I would like to see the weekend schedule not so intense. That one mama m. posted was from morning till late night. . Some free mingling time or some Q&A for the Drs. would be awesome, ya know like open mic night to let your hair down. I can't wait to see everyone. I know it's only been about 6 weeks, but it will be a blast to hash everything out. So who is going to be there? Several of us have decided to stay at the Lucerna, since we are so familiar with it and it has a great pool area! I am so looking forward to some restriction. It has been way to easy to eat...eat anything. I will be flying in on Fri. wow, this Fri. and should be at the clilnic just before lunch. I will have the scared grin on my face . So what's the difference in cost between the two of those centers? I might consider going there instead of driving 4+ hours to GA. for my second fill. I will be with Lynna in TJ for my first fill! reneej

Hey girls, there will be several of us who were banded on 4-7-08, that will be there the same weekend. I know a few of us are still considering Lucerna as well. It was such a nice place and the staff was great. The new hotel didn't impress me by its pictures and do they have a pool anyway? I loved the pool area at Lucerna. It was a great place to hang out. Who cares if we're not all a size 4, that's why we did this anyway, so lay out by the pool, come in shorts or what ever, we just want to meet and have a good time. see you all soon. reneej

I will be banded May 16, so I am sorry I don't have the experience, but look at it this way. Every time you get a fill, your stomach is a new size if you will. Digestion is tricky enough and now you have adjusted it again. I long for that restriction. YOu are learning again on what to eat, how to eat it and obviouly how fast to eat it. Supplement for a while with soup and "easily" digested foods. and by all means, call Dr. Miranda. She will give you the best, most straight forward advice. So how is the weight loss going? thanks, is that location just north of norcross, ga? i am so glad it went well for you. i can fly on frequent flyer miles to tj. but it's a long hard trip. i could actually do it in a day, man could you imagine the jet lag i am about 4hours from atlanta, so that's not bad. we might could even pick up a braves game. so how do i know what size band i have. i read my card and it says like a 10cc band. would that be right? i would love to have a fill like what you got, with lots of restriction. right now i can eat everything with out a bit of trouble. stay tuned, reneej

OK today I spoke to the lady at the fill center usa just north of atlanta. she was very nice even after i told her i was going back to dr. o for my first fill. has anyone used this location yet? i understand they don't use a fluroscopy, is that right? she said they just have you drink to see how much you can hold. at first they take out what fluid you have in you to see how much you had and then add that amount and more. What do ya'll think. She also said they were considering opening a place either in tn., al, or ms. or ky. that would be closer for me and i hope for others too. So if you have used this particular location, please give me your insight. thanks, reneej

I was banded 4/7/08 in tj, by dr. o. before i went, i didn't tell anyone. my sweet hubby went with me so of course he knew. as i have thought about this, i have come to the decision that obviously some people are going to have to know. i didn't want to tell anyone till after my fill, but the more time you spend with people, especially eating, the more they will know something is up anyway. don't lie to your family and friends, it will bite you in the butt, every time. the ones i have told have been so supportive and were very curious about mexico. they even asked about going down for a boob job =D> i guess it would be more exceptable if we had all been to Paris', but we didn't. so those that ask me what have i been doing...i tell and if they don't ,i don't tell. sooner or later it will be out anyway and people just won't ask, i hope they just have compliments and questions. it's only somebodies business if you want it to be. so as it gets out what i did, i want have to worry about those i lied to...get my drift? but it's wonderful news to share any way you want to do it. > reneej
