  1. So who determines when you need a fill, you or dr. avara? If you got a fill every 6-8 weeks till your were just right on restriction, that might be ok, but that's sounds high to me, and you said he did not use a fluroscopy, how did he know if you were swallowing correctly? Did he do anything else while you were there? I wonder if you just wanted to pay by the fill how much it would be. I guess you can tell I haven't had my first fill yet. I am so glad you're doing well, keep it up! reneej
  2. So how is everyone? I have only seen a few posts from you all. How is the weight loss coming? Mine is real slow and I can eat everything with out any problem, YIKES!, can't wait for my fill. Don't forget we need to get together either on Fri, 5/16/08 or Sat 5/17/08. I am sure we can find some kind of trouble to get into...bring a bathing suit. We may need it if we all cram into a taxi and go to the beach or stay by the pool. I'd rather see some hotties on the beach. Ya'll all know I am married. my Hubby, Darryl, was with me. ( He's a real Sweetie) But I still like to look =D> Let's see how everyone is doing, give me some kind of idea that you all haven't all shriveled up and blown away Reneej
  3. you go girl, it's amazing what a few pounds gone will make you feel like. did you get that hot new dress? and what about Mr. I'm talking to? Did he show up too? I am beginning to see that some of my clothes are getting baggy, they may not look real pretty , but they sure do feel good. Let's talk tomorrow, I want to hear all about the wedding! You didn't dance on the groom's table did you =D> see ya, reneej
  4. hey Kimmie I live in n. al., where in mississippi did you get your fill and what did they charge you for it. I will have my first fill with Dr. O, but I may need to know for the 2nd one. We go to Gulf Shores a lot, like every other month, so maybe I could zip over and get my fill there. It's so good to know someone who had such a great experience. Please let me know all the details. thanks, Reneej
  5. Jacki, relax you will be put to ease immediately. and you won't be alone by any means you will make some life long friends. you are going to do great. enjoy your stay!
  6. I would love to have a boob job in the future, many months from now, but i am interested in cosmed and any other highly reccomended places. is there a website for cosmed? and has anyone had any work done or does any one know how much some of their procedures are?
  7. My Source of Life liquid multi is great. taste, well it is a tangey, fruit taste. If you think yours is tasting bad, look for a multi with out iron. It is usually the iron gives vitamins such a distinct taste. fyi reneej
  8. thanks everyone, i will try that starting today. what's the reasoning behind all of this?
  9. I see you post a lot for Cassie, who is she and why doesn't she ever post herself or is she under another name. Are you her friend or some other relation?
  10. so i have been reading and i believe people have been eating their foods in some type of order. i think most people are eating proteins first. is that right? does anyone know which order we should be eating in? and has anyone varied from that and shown any noticable difference in their weight?
  11. i was banded 4-7-08, was wondering, what makes a band slip? can you tell if your band has slipped? is that repairable if it has? can you feel it if your band slips? what are the absolute no, no's to keep your band from slipping? is your band not sewn in to place? just wondering and needing to know what to avoid reneej
  12. i have never been a big drinker of any liquids. now i will drink a small sip if i am eating something spicey. i think it is supposed to be bad after you have been banded, but i haven't been so no trouble for me
  13. ok, i have not been to have my feel yet, will go may 16. Logically i am thinking i should feel some type of restriction. for crying out loud i do have a band around the top of my stomach. there are times that i do not feel as hungry, i can't say i feel restricked. have you had your fill yet? i have never pb'd and my heartburn has stopped since being banded.
  14. it's hard to say sometimes what we have actually lost. i was banded 4-7, i had lost 10#preop by my scales. when dr. miranda weighed me i had lost 15# preop. now by my scales i have only lost 3 more pounds. it will soon be a month and only 3 # lost, that s**ks. i am not gaining but i would like to see something for all my hard work. i have begun eating real food now and no real difference. i do sometimes feel i am eating too much and sometimes not. i can eat anything, pasta, bread, you name it. i haven't had any alcohol, but i may have a margarita today, we'll see. i do drink a protein drink every morning so i get 60 g of protein a day, but i really want to drop a few pounds a week, and i have been walking or on the gazelle. so there you go...other than that me and my bandito are great! reneej
  15. Hey Dimples, congrats on your new band. Can you believe how easy that was? Recovery will be a breeze and you will be well on your way. I see you're from MS. I am From NW Alabama. What part of Ms. are you from? Well at least we speak the same language. =D> ya'll stay in touch, Reneej
  16. YOu go girl, I am so glad to hear that. I can't believe we are going back to TJ. Can't wait. I wish I could drop a few more pounds, like 50, lol. I would feel better to have a pound or two dropping off every now and then. Hey Willt-we are going to miss you in TJ, we need someone to ride the Zebra, lol. I am glad to hear you have your fill scheduled. You will have to tell us how it goes and how much it ended up costing. Where's everyone else? We're looking to U!, reneej
  17. I am 47 and have been banded since 4-7. I guess that's a sign, 4,7...4,7. I just realized that. I was just not sure about all of this and then I had a light go off. Heeellllooooo, You're 47 and not getting any younger or smaller so . All went well and I am down 19#, 15# was preop. I will have my fill in TJ on May 16 and can't wait. So let's hear it for the older babes! =D>
  18. After some thought on this name thing, I really favoring the name "BANDito" in honor of having the surgery in Tijuana! WHat do you think?
  19. Hi, my name is Reneej and I am a ............................................. chip licker! (
  20. OLE ! We have all got to get together for sure, maybe Sat. night. I hope my fill makes me feel really restricted. I am not really feeling right now. And I haven't really lost any weight in about a week. We should really think up a name for us... how about " The Banded Babes of TJ"? So what did everyone have for their "first" real meal? I had a half of a stuffed baked potatoe. Let's round everyone up a plan something in TJ for Sat. night. Reneej
  21. Wow, what a mixed bag we are on this. I am one of the "ashamed" ones. My husband is the only one at this point who knows. I really haven't lost that much and I haven't had my first fill yet either, but I guess I am just not ready to discuss this, but with all of you. Also , we own an Herb Store and everyone thinks you have a cure for everything and because we use a lot of supplements and such we should be super human and have no problems. Yes, it's obvious I am overweight. I suppose when I start showing more of a weight loss, I will speak more about it. I am not hiding it, but I am not shouting from the roof tops either. I just don't want people to judge me for making this decision. I would hope they would be happy with me. This is also an encouragement for me to do even better. My 3 teenagers don't even know, nor do my parents. There have been a lot of times I would like to say something about it and still I might. A friend of mine is going to Gulf Shores with me next week, so I may tell her about it. I know she will be supportive. It's just a long ride to have such a big secret! We'll see.
  22. You go, get it off your chest! I was banded on 4-7. I have done everything post op, I was asked to do and I have lost 1 pound It is good to hear all thos success stories, but it can also be very discouraging when you're not doing so well. Have you noticed your clothes fitting any different? Every person's body is going to be different, we're just not designed to be a like. Sure we all want the pounds to start coming off, me included. DO NOT weigh every day...it can be disouraging. And for me I think my body thought I was trying to starve myself. So I am beginning to eat soups twice a day and throwing in some fudge sicles. Yummo! I am trying to get out and walk about 30 minutes a day, or chase the dog, but doing something. I have been told my hundreds, just wait till you get your fill. OK, my fill is May 16. We'll see. Don't worry, I am sure you have done a good thing for you. Why don't you call the OCC and talk with Dr. Miranda. She can probably offer you some guidance on this. I would. Make sure all your choices are deliberate. You can do it and so can I... > keep in touch, Reneej :-h
  23. If you are really needed a lot of protein, try Pro Complex by Optimum Nutrition, it has 60 g of protein per shake and tastes great. I know it is very low if not sugar free. It is a powder, but it's great with a 1% milk and ice.
