  1. Hi, I really enjoy eating a scrambled egg or two for breakfast. I think it is like the perfect diet food, lots of protein, low carbs, low calorie, but with the band I don't seem to be able to keep them down. Is this just me or do others have trouble with eggs too? thanks, Kim
  2. Hi Cathy, I feel like I have a lot of port pain too. I am going to ask my fill doctor about it when I see her in July. I have learned to sleep on the other side and if I do sleep on the port side, I use a long body pillow and a king size feather pillow to cushion and support that side. The other thing I noticed is that my stomach looks misshapen where i suspect the port is and where the band is. Maybe I am still just swollen, after all it is just 30 days post op. I guess all things take time. Kim
  3. Jena, I use Fitday, but just the free web version. Maybe I will upgrade with your sterling recommendation. I really like the site. Kim
  4. Not to get too graphic, but I am wondering has anyone else found that their band surgery threw off their monthly cycle? Mine started about 5 days after the surgery (was not even close to starting time), thought maybe it was due to the near starvation diet we go on after being banded, and it lasted for about 3 weeks. It started again yesterday and I am about 1.5 weeks away from when it should have started. I really only had 2 weeks break between the 2 cycles. I have been eating about 1000-1200 calories daily now (nutritionally good calories too) so starvation theory is out the window. Any one else having a similar experience?
  5. I eat the premier nutrition Odyssey protein bar, chocolate peanut butter and the carmel nut. I ordered them off the web from the premier nutrition website, which someone else posted about their protein drink. They have 30g protein in a serving, but 330 calories too. They are DELISH!
  6. I am shooting for a size 8. I have been there a couple of times only to go back up after a few days! but i am wondering with the band if a size 6 is doable. Something funny, a few years ago I was on some weight loss sight trying to establish a goal, blah, blah, blah, so I enter 165 as my goal. To me this is a good weight for me at that weight you can see my ribs in my back and I wear a size 8. Anyhow, I put that in as the goal and I get this message back "Are you sure you want 165 lbs as your goal, it is still considered obese for your height?" Dang how skinny does one have to be to not be considered obese????
  7. I am working on returning the stuff, but I am arguing about them sending me a call tag for it because that stuff is heavy and shipping it is expensive! I did put the charges in dispute on my credit card though. but as fate would have it....my son dropped my old weed whacker on Saturday, so I was like, well I guess I will keep one of these and opened it and used it and let me tell you IT IS THE BOMB!!!
  8. Commenting on Redhead's call to her boyfriends cell the night of your surgery. I did something similar, but I don't remember this at all. Apparently on the day of my surgery, must have been the night, I called some infomercial I saw on TV and ordered a weed wacker for $119 (The Worx, if you have happened to see it) and not only did I order that weed wacker, I ordered a 2nd weed wacker (maybe I was getting my dad one for fathers day??) and I ordered a hedge trimmer.....I don't have but 1 bush in my yard, and I can't imagine spending $179 for a hedge trimmer! I didn't think the meds they gave me were that strong!!!
  9. Thanks for those web sites. When I saw them it made me think of a web site I had used similar in the past, www.fitday.com, the site is free too. Funny thing, when I logged in after like 2 years of not using it, it was at my exact weight today! I think that is a sign!!
  10. Hi, Just wondering....I haven't seen many posts or references in posts to "food journals". From all my many previous attempts at weight loss, this was usually one of the top suggestions they encouraged you to use. Is anyone using a food journal and if so, do you find it helpful? Seems to me like it couldn't hurt and it might be especially helpful to those that aren't having the results they are looking for. Thanks, Kim
  11. I am almost at 3 weeks and still have glue. I don't know how much or if it is flaking because I am afraid to touch my incisions. I AM SUCH A WIMP!!
  12. I am really craving a wonderful salad. When am I able to start eating salad again? Can I start as soon as I finish the creamy soup stage or should I wait a bit because lettuce is hard to digest? Thanks, Kim
  13. Have you found a Fill Doctor in PA yet? I am in Wash DC area and have also been looking for a fill doc in the area. I found an internist in Frederick, MD (close to PA state line) who does fills. I was a little leary at first because I wanted fluro and someone that was experienced but I did a little research and this doctor herself was banded in Mexico a couple years ago and she does fills in her office one day of the week for $200. From what I have read, she is terrific! The office is set up like a country living room and it is very warm and welcoming. I have read nothing but good things about her work. I made a fill appt. for July 9 and can let you know how it goes. Dr. Susan Brinkley Frederick, MD 301-668-2800
  14. I have been trying to do 10,000 steps a day for about the last year. I do part of it on the treadmill. You would be surprised at how far 10,000 steps is. For me it is about 6 miles in a day to make the 10,000 steps. I don't make it every day, actually I only make it about half the days of the week. Good Luck!
  15. Hi Jessie, I am getting banded on 5/23 and I am coming from the DC area too. I fly in on 5/22. Are you staying in the Camino Real or Lucerna Hotel? If it is easier, email me at kmbodj@aol.com and we can chat. Kim
  16. Sorry I am new, what is PB or PBing?
  17. Hi Audrey and GAGirl, I just booked my flight, I arrive in San Diego @ 3:53 PM on 5/22. GAGirl will already be banded but maybe we can pop in and say hello while you are recuperating. Kim
  18. Hi Audrey, I am having a hard time with this board! I was so embarassed when I saw my first post! Hopefully this one will be better. I haven't made my flight arrangements yet. I was waiting a few days, not sure why, I guess I should get on that. Where are you flying in from? I am coming in from Maryland, so I will probably arrive sort of late on the 22nd. We can do our laps together. Kim
  19. Hi Audrey, I am scheduled for May 23rd also. Little nervous as I am going by myself. Maybe we can give each other moral support while in Mexico. Kim
