  1. It is 9:48 PM and I am heading off to bed. I am at 13721 for the day. I hope you beat me Mona Camille!!! Not sure if exercising before a fill is recommended, so I don't know if I will get all 10,000 steps in tomorrow or not. What the heck, I will just walk in the morning anyway. Walking won't swell me or stimulate me ( I don't think) It is only a pedometer, not a peter meter which could be a whole other story! Night! PS I think you should post reports on the progress of the peter meter too. Some of us could live through you vicariously that way!!
  2. Dr. Brinkley is not with Fill Centers USA. She is an internist, does a blind fill and it is $200. I have read a lot about her on the boards, that is how I found her too. I am going in the morning for my 1st fill. I will report back. Here is the kicker, she has a lapband too. She was banded in Mexico too. Thinking she should really understand where we are coming from. She only does fills 1 day a week, Wednesdays. I have only heard rave reviews. Kim
  3. ooops. not Dr. Johnson, Dr. Brinkley. I hope I don't call her that tomorrow!
  4. Mona Camille - That was a lot of info and good to know. I am going to see Dr. Johnson tomorrow for my first fill. When are you seeing her? I would love to compare notes!! About the "head" hunger, I can see where you are coming from with that, but that wasn't what I was wondering about. It is more can we "trick" ourselves into believing we have restriction to help with the weight loss. You know kind of like when you want a cookie, but you just kind of tell yourself you don't want it and the craving goes away, but if I continue to dwell on the cookie, then the craving becomes stronger. In other words, I haven't had my fill yet, but tomorrow I am going to tell myself I have restriction and I am going to tell myself that until I believe it. Until I feel it. A positive mental attitude can work miracles! At least that is what I am hoping. -- no it is what I know!
  5. Jessie I am in DC too. I am going to a fill doctor in Frederick, MD so no flying is involved. Blind fill, but I have heard she is pretty good. Story is that this doctor was banded 3-4 yrs ago in Mexico, so she is totally empathetic to the patient and really understands what we are going through.
  6. SUPER GLUE???? OMG LMAO!!!!!! Trina you didn't!!
  7. I am just not getting all the fills everyone seems to be getting. When I was in Tijuana, Dr. Ortiz asked me about fills and if I was planning on coming back to OCC for my fills. I told him I was thinking about it, but hadn't made up my mind since I live on the east coast, it is a major time committment, forget about the money. It is hard to leave for 3 days as I am a single mother. This is what he told me. I should seriously consider coming back to OCC because they get you filled to the right spot in 1 to 2 fills and that I would be much happier if I came back. If this is the case, why does everyone seem to be getting 3-4 fills plus? Could some of this restriction or lack there of restriction be mental? Can one mentally induce restriction? Mamamichelle aludes to this in her "best bandster tips" Just wondering. Kim
  8. Kind of late posting today, I couldn't kick my son off the computer last night. I finished 7/7 @ 13,848 steps Today, 7/8 it is 1:43 PM and I am at 8036. Who else is going to break 10,000 steps today???
  9. 36,000+ steps. I AM BLOWN AWAY!!! I think it is ok to actually average your steps for the week, so that will do you for 3 days! OK it is 8:32 AM EST and I am at 8450 so far for the day. Hope someone catches up to me soon!
  10. WOW!!! So I guess this is proof that men don't ask for directions in the woods/forest either!!!
  11. Michelle, YOU LOOK MARVELOUS!! and it looks like the back of the dress finally zipped shut this month. WAY TO GO!! Kimmy PS Your tan is fantastic too!
  12. WOW Lynzz those pics are gorgeous! Should be a great hike. Just think how great your lungs will feel now that your are smoke free too!! I was a total couch/bed potatoe on 7/5, just watched movies now my mind and my body feels like MUSH!!! Not sure today will be much better because it is extremely humid out and they are calling for rain. Oh well on Monday all will be back to normal and I will be stepping again. Have a great hike Lynzz. Kim
  13. Yaay Lynzzz!! I didn't put it on until 4:00ish on the 4th, so I ended up with only 8788 for the day. I must admit, I am lazy on the weekends!! especially rainy weekends, like it is doing today in DC. Have a great weekend!!
  14. DANG no one is stepping up today. I ended at 16787!! Happy 4th
  15. I especially love it that my underwear are not too tight! I knew when they got too tight it was time to do something about it!!
  16. 11232 and I am leaving out for the day. will post final when back. Hope we all get our steps in.
  17. Ok, it is 1:24 PM EST and I am at 10324 -- try and catch me!!!! Just an FYI, I get so many steps early because I walk 3 miles to my office in the morning. I ride a commuter bus into the city and get off early and walk the last 3 miles, this way I typically get at least 6000 before I start work. See if I stayed on the bus, I wouldn't get to my office until about 6:40 and of course that leave no time to work out before my day starts. This way i get my workout in and arrive at the office at 7ish, then i shower (we have a gym in our office) and get ready to start my day by 8:00 AM. That is how I get so many steps so early. Usually do another 4000 ish during the work day and then i walk 2 miles to the fartherest bus stop I can get to without actually missing the last bus out of the city. all together it is about 14,000 a day. give or take a 1000.
  18. Hi Lynzz Welcome to our Step Challenge! Last week I had the same issue with no place to put the pedo, I actually wore it under the dress attached to the waistband of my panties/hose. couldn't check it during the day much, but it worked. Ok..it is 7/3 and it is 8:21 EST, I am at 7329 already. Waiting for someone to catch me today!!
  19. Ok I am done with my steps for the day. I will probably have to go up and down the steps a few more times tonight, but right now my pedometer says...... drum role please.....14,908 Hopefully I will check the forum in the morning and someone will have beat me! Come on.....catch me if you can Have a great night!! Kim
  20. YAYYYYYYY for the Steppers! We all did great today!!! Much more positive to go out walking than to sit here typing about missing threads and who is saying what about what or what not. EVERYONE TAKE A LONG WALK!! I am at 10,626 @ 5:07 PM, at 5:30 I will head out and walk about 2 miles to the fartherest bus stop I can get to and still get a ride home for the day. That should be another 3000-4000 steps. I was reading in one of the links Alana included that a mile is about 2000 steps, give or take, and if you figure 15 minute miles that is about 4 miles in an hour, 60 minutes and you are at 8000 steps. So what if you go a little slower (the point is to just go) 20 minute mile and it is 3 miles in 60 minutes or 6000 steps. I am going to post again when I get home at about 7:45 and I hope someone BEATS me! Catch me if you can, I dare ya.
  21. Know what is really fun???? Not buying new clothes (in a smaller size of course, although this is a close second) Trying on old clothes and getting to wear them AGAIN!!! So thrilled that today I am wearing a size 12 skirt and size 10 jacket to work...Yay meeee. Still trying to remember why I bought the suit in 2 different sizes though, I think it had something to do with size availability. Must admit though, they will fit better when another 5 lbs. are gone! Hope your day is as happy as mine! Kim
  22. It's almost 1:30 PM EST and I am at 9893. Anyone catching up yet????
  23. The better the pedometer is the less sensitive it will be and it will also be noiseless so you don't have the click, click. I did 11,000 steps yesterday and it is 8 AM EST and I am at 7153 already this morning. Let's see who can catch up the fastest.
  24. Glad everyone is getting on the pedometer bandwagon! I have a tip, try to buy a pedometer with something attached to keep it attached to your waistband. They all come with this plastic clip, but I lost like my first 3 pedometers because they come off your waist band and disappear. The one I have now has a string with a strong metal claw clip that makes sure it stays attached to the waist band, in addition to the normal plastic clip all pedometers have. I got mine at Sports Authority and it was more expensive, but after losing 3 of the $5 ones, I have had this pedometer for over a year. One last thing. 10,000 steps a day is HARD!!! for me I find it to be the equivalent of about 6 miles. For the last few weeks I find myself getting off my bus about 3 miles from my office and walking the rest of the way in. I am lucky I have a gym/shower at work and just bring my clothes in a backpack and get dressed after I hoof it the 3 miles. I also walk 2 miles to a bus stop in the evening in order to get the rest of my steps in. With this walking and my "normal" daily walking I am averaging about 12000-14000 steps and feel great! I live in DC area and this is a great city for walking. Have discovered so many beautiful gardens in and around the Smithsonians. Kim
  25. Do you think it is restriction? I haven't had a fill yet, it is scheduled for July 9th. Do you think I will be able to eat them after my fill?
